Chapter 36

The man looked exactly like how the group expected him to look. From the drawing and the statue that they had seen, he looked almost the exact same. Neireith had a stern look on his face yet there was a twinkle in his bright purple eyes. He was wearing some sort of robe. The twins were reminded of someone from a book that they had read a little while ago. They didn't dwell on it much considering the situation.

"Wait so you've always been here?" Kelso crossed her arms and stared at the new man. He turned to her and the twinkle in his eyes brightened. He shook his head slightly which only caused more confusion for her. Tyrell was thinking the same but he kept quiet, he wanted to see how things panned out before he asked questions. Particularly, how Neireith and Nero would interact.

"Technically yes and no." Neireith said as he continued to walk so that he was in front of his child, separating them from the small group which contained the twins. "You had figured it out a while ago. I am this place." He gestured to their surroundings by spreading his arms out wide. "This ...body is nothing more then a projection of myself-"

"Wait if that's the case then how about this!" Nero cut off their father by delivering a swift punch through his head. When it did nothing to hurt the old man Nero gave a high pitched squeal and continued to do it over and over again, their smile growing wider and wider. Neireith shook his head in disappointment at his child.

"I raised you this way?" It was difficult to tell if Neireith was disappointed in Nero or himself as he moved closer towards the group. Nero nodded in response with a smile which showed they really didn't care. With a sigh Neireith looked around. "Well I know the majority of you. For those of you who do not know me my name is Neireith-" Much to his annoyance he was interrupted once again.

"You can't be!" Vandkin spat out as his eyes became flames. "That's a tale told to children! There is no ounce of truth in the story." His voice showed his simmering anger rather well. In fact it was the voice he used all the time, apart from when he communicated with vansila or his wife. "Vansilla! Come here at once."

Vansila looked around for a few moments before shaking her head and hiding between her two friends. Landso and Acheron both put an arm around her protectively. Vandkin grew even angrier as he stomped around, he saw no way of getting across the river. So he decided to make one. That didn't turn out as planned. "Why can't I-"

Neireith took pleasure in interrupting the man's question. "As I said prior to your interruption, I am this place. I can stop you from creating things...technically you're trying to manipulate me, we all know what happens when someone tries that don't we child?" He turned back towards Nero with a pointed look, if it were possible Nero got even paler and they crossed their arms with a pout.

"Un, excuse me?" Laylian spoke up from beside Kelso. Everyone's attention snapped to her very quickly. She shuffled on her feet nervously at the many pairs of eyes which were on her. "What exactly are we going to do now? This doesn't exactly fit withw hat we've been told." She wasn't wrong, most of the group were thinning it. They had just assumed that they would find out sooner or later.

There was a moment of silence before Neireith started to chuckle slightly. "My dear this is exactly what the prophecy said." He shook his head as he walked over to Sylvester, grabbing his wrist and inspecting his hand. Kelso turned her head in the opposite direction whilst Tyrell came even closer to Sylvester. Neireith earned a strange look as he blew on Sylvester's hand, the skin seeming to close up and become rather pink. "unfortunately I cannot do much about that scar. My apologies that happened."

Sylvester watched his hand in amazement, it was like a cool breeze had came along and took the pain with it. "Thank you." He said sincerely. He wanted to make sure Nereith knew he was thankful and grateful, the pain was rather excruciating. He was a little bit nervous to be around Neireith, he knew that he was a good dark fae, he wouldn't hurt anyone ,yet he was still a dark fae who wasn't supposed to be in the human dimension.

Neireith could read him like he was an open book. "No need to be so anxious." He was fully aware that Laylian's previous question was not being addressed much at all, he tried to keep it that way. "If I did not see you worthy of coming here then I would not have let you." The seriousness in his tone was soft yet they all knew that he meant what he said. With each moment they were in his presence they became more and more convinced that this was the creator of the dimensions. "Speaking of the unworthy." He trailed off as he looked towards the royals.

Addafor frowned and he pulled Laidra closer to him, the two of them were too close to the royals to tell who Neireith were talking about. He worried that he was the one who was being spoken about. He couldn't think of many evil deeds that he had done in his life but he was sure that his flaws would be open to Neireith. Perhaps the man knew about their plot? The amount of times they had lied to the royals to save their necks.

Selltresse and Vandkin turned around to look at their advisors, they had assumed it was them that Neireith were talking about. Surely they could do no wrong? They ruled the fae dimension strictly, it was enough to keep peace among all the fae and they were focused on their duties as royals.

"Oh my apologies if I was unclear." Neireith's voice grew louder. As he spoke Laidra and Addafor were dragged by vines over the waterfall. They struggled and gasped, they expected to be thrown into the acidic water without a second thought. They were surprised when they made it to the other side, leaving Vandkin and Selltresse on the other side of the water, alone. "I have a few words for you two."

Laidra and Addafor ran to their children and gave them hugs, as well as the twins and Vansilla. They were pleased to know everything was alright. The atmosphere was lighter now. Much to Nero's annoyance. At the moment Vandkina dn Selltresse were like an all you can eat buffet for the dark fae, they were enjoying it. The closeness of such happy fae irritated them like an itch they couldn't quite get rid of.

"I thought I was the enemy here?" Nero got ignored as everyone watched the royals pace along their side, a safe distance away from the water. Nero couldn't complain much, they could see the expensive attire of the two, they had heard a lot about the royals. They wanted to see how this worked out.
