chapter 33

Chapter 33

Sylvester knew that at least something was pursuing him. He could feel the darkness and shadow come closer and closer but he ran further and further. He guessed that the dark fae weren't used to trapping or hurting others of their kind. He knew that would've effected a fae massively, they would've felt the light being stripped from their bodies and hope would leave them, they would become weak and powerless.

He wasn't a regular fae though, he was a dark fae and therefore the shadows had the opposite effect on him. Instead of taking away his hope it gave him power, it gave him the strength he needed to get the device into his hand. The power helped his legs to move as he weaved through the trees.

He was lucky, the trees had life in them and they seemed to like him. Everything talked, everything communicated with each other. This was good for Sylvester as apparently he had made a very good impression on the nature of the human dimension. He talked to birds and insects quite a bit. He guessed that they told others, how often is it that you see a humanoid figure who seems to understand you? As an animal or plant anyway.

He continued to run, he didn't realize how far away the park was from the forest which held the place. He could feel the roots of the trees under his feet moving. He could feel the air swishing as branches moved . He heard a few grunts, his pursuers being hit. He didn't turn to look back, he just kept his eyes in front of him. He was holding the device tightly in his fist and he prayed that the motion wouldn't be hurting those inside. For the moment, he didn't know how to get them out of there.

He didn't know where Demi and Addamak were. He had told them to stay in the car and he told them where he was going to be headed. He was assuming that they would meet him there, or at least meet him halfway somehow. If he was honest he could've passed them and he wouldn't have noticed, he was so focused on running and running.

He could feel whoever it was grow closer, he could feel coolness on his back. He would've assumed that it was Nero. He didn't know if Nero was the kind of person to fight their own battles or not, Brandon or Erin would've been too slow in their current forms. It would've taken them too long to get to where they were now. Sylvester didn't know how Nero would've gotten past all the birds , perhaps they just didn't phase them. Birds were smallb ut they were strong, they were wise and wouldn't do anything they would come to regret.

He could tell that he was getting closer to where he had to be, the trees were gaining life as he ran. The hope and brightness of the sun radiated throughout the trees, giving life to the plants which surrounded them. He could feel the nature become more aggressive and stronger as he weaved through the green. He was out of breath and gasping , he was losing the advantage he had of benign int he darkness. That meant his pursuers would probably be doing the same , so he wasn't very worried about it.

As he stumbled and tried to progress, the trees had to cover his back more. He heard some aggressive grumbling from whoever pursues him but he couldn't focus on that. He nearly fell down the stairs leading to the place and he sprinted in, the door closing behind him. He didn't know what to do.

His friends were quite literally in the palm of his hand. He didn't know if he would be able to get them out of the device but he didn't have enough time to think. He ran towards the water, attempting to put as much room as he could between him and the door. He could see the door resisting something. Someone wasn't using the door handle, or the door was just not letting them in. Sylvester worried even moreso. After finding out the place was quite alive, the latter seemed more likely.

"Thank you." Sylvester's voice was still dark as he spoke to the place which attempted to keep the darkness out. He could what the noise getting louder and louder, the force getting more and more violent. Sylvester stared down into the device, in hopes that Tyrell could see him.

Which he could, Tyrell looked up at him pleadingly from within the device. He could see the darkness in Sylvester's eyes and he could hear the sadness in his tone. He wanted nothing more than to comfort Sylvester. Kelso wrapped an arm around Tyrell's shoulder as they all watched what was happening. They were all confused. They didn't know if they should believe what Sylvester said or not, he was a very good actor.

They weren't the only ones confused. Within the mansion which Sylvester had just left there were many confused fae. They lifted their heads weakly and stared at each other in confusion. They were starting to feel somewhat normal, the darkness which they usually felt deep within their chests, weighing them down until they couldn't move, had vanished. They were all scared, they didn't know what was happening. But they had to try something. Dawn was the first to notice the change and so she took action.

"Right." Dawn said as she tried her best to get herself free from her restraints. She hadn't actually attempted to do so yet, she was not comfortable trying with a dark fae in the room. Surprisingly, the dark fae were not too good at tying knots. She stood up and stretched before walking to some fo the fae and trying to undo their binds. Some of them were created by shadows, which only other fae could destroy. In the end, Lorraine and Oscar were the only two left tied up. "We don't have long." Dawn spoke to the fae as though the two other humans didn't exist.

"Excuse-me? What about us?" Lorraine said in a tone which made Dawn give a sarcastic smile and an eye roll. "Y-you're not planning on leaving us here! What if the thing comes back?" Lorraine sounded like a lost puppy, or rather a child who was told to wait for a moment whilst their parents went to do an errand.

"Then they will get frustrated and annoyed with you, good luck with that." That was the last acknowledgment that Dawn made of the two as she continued to talk to the fae. They were making their own plan without knowing what the others were thinking. She hoped that they wouldn't clash. She knows her grandchildren well. She knew what Devin and Eden would argue against. She hoped she had a good enough understanding of the twins as well.

Whilst this was happening the door to the place was given one last shove and the door burst off its hinges. In strode Nero, whos shadows expanded to try and cover most of the light which radiated around the place. "Hello Father. Not too fond of what you've done to the place." Nero said with a smirk on their face.
