Chapter 6

Anakin POV:

Taking our X Wing ship to the Fawley Power Station, I landed in an open space upon the docks. The sky was dark and cloudy, signaling that there might be rain later. Compared to the part of the city we originally landed in, this part was bland in color and surrounded by water which stretched out as far as we could see through the clouds. (y/n) looked around for a moment, taking in the sight, before walking towards the particular building where we were told to go. I followed behind and fell in step beside her.

She turned her head towards me and smiled optimisticly, "So, on a scale of one to ten, how difficult do you think saving the Head of State will be?"

I pretended to be deep in thought about my answer, stroking my chin and looking off in the distance, "Huh, I would say.... zero." I smirked at her.

She rolled her eyes and shoved my shoulder, "Can't you at least try to be modest? Arrogance creates big heads, and we can't have your head exploding from getting too big."

I chuckled at her comments about my ego, which never seemed to end, "Keep 'em coming, (y/n)." I said sarcastically. But I really didn't mind, because they always amused me.

She smirked at me, "Glady."

(y/n) POV:

Standing outside of a large circular building were two robots with guns, blocking the door.

I spoke first, "We're here to negotiate with Count Dooku on behalf of the people of Corellia."

Anakin and I stood confidently in front of them, ready to grab our lightsabers if we needed to. The robots watched us, unmoving and still, before moving to either side to let us through. I took a deep breath and looked over at Anakin, who gave me a reassuring smile. His smile warmed my heart and calmed my nerves, giving me an extra push and we both entered inside the building together. The first thing I saw were many robots standing shoulder to shoulder in a line, all holding guns just like the ones outside.

"Ah, you've finally come." Said an all too familiar voice. Anakin and I looked left and right, trying to locate where it came from. Suddenly the center of the line of robots split as they moved away, revealing Dooku slowly approaching us with that bitter expression he always wore. Anakin and I pulled out our lightsabers and stood in our fighting stances, ready to attack. But Dooku just laughed and stopped until he was a few feet in front of us.

"There is no need for such hostility. I have summoned you to negotiate, not fight." He said in a fake, innocent way. But we knew that there would be some sort of violence today, and the main concern was the Head of State who I spotted at the other end of the room, sitting in a chair and being guarded by a robot. My eyes met his for a second, before I looked back at Dooku and formulated a plan in my head; we would have to somehow get him out of here and to a safe place. But how?

Anakin turned off his lightsaber and put it in the sheath of his black clothes, and crossed his arms. "And what exactly are these negotiations of yours?"

Dooku smiled and slowly walked in a circle around us, "I'm glad you asked...." I started to tune him out because I just came up with an idea, I don't know if it's going to work but it's probably the best option we've got. I opened my mind to the force so I could verbally connect with Anakin and tell him my plan.

"Anakin, I have a plan."

His eyes darted over to me for a second and then back forward.

"What is it?"

"On the count of three we can use the force together to destroy all of the robots. And while you fight off Dooku, I can take the Head of State to the ship and fly it over to get you."

He didn't respond at first, probably wondering if that could actually work. Then he lightly nodded his head and I began to count down.

"3....2....1.... now."

When Dooku's back was turned, Anakin and I held both of our hands out and threw every single robot backwards with the force, destroying all of them as the visible shockwave crashed them into the walls. I immediately sprinted as fast as I could to where the Head of State was sitting, and he looked stunned at what had just happened. When I got a closer look at him, I noticed that he was very young, maybe a few years older than me. He had dark brown hair and warm hazel eyes. He had ivory skin and stubble facial hair that perfectly defined his features. He was very, very handsome. (Imagine he looks like Spencer Boldman)

I grabbed his hand and ran to the back of the building where I spotted can emergency exit, "Lets go!"

Behind me I heard lightsabers clashing and voices grunting, "You fools! You should have listened to my negotiations!" Dooku yelled. I stopped running for a moment and turned around to see what was happening. Dooku dodged all of Anakin's jabs at him, and then did a backflip when Anakin came charging at him. Dooku kicked him in the stomach which caused him to stumble backwards, but then he regained his footing and managed to knock Dooku's red lightsaber out of his hand with his own. Anakin began to stride menacingly towards the weaponless man in front of him before I intervened, "Anakin! Let's get out of here!"

He looked at me and hesitated, then ran past Dooku to join us in running out of the building.  By the time all three of us made it into the ship, the other man beside me was panting from the prolonged exercise, and sat on the small bed in the back of the ship.

"Oh wow.... I haven't ran like that in a while." He chuckled.

I stood in front of him while he was catching his breath, and Anakin immediately started the ship to make sure that no one else was hot on our trail.

"Are you alright, sir?" I asked, putting a hand on his shoulder. He looked up at me with those bright hazel eyes, and had a charming smile.

"I am, thank you for that. If it wasn't for you and your friend then I don't know what would've happened."

I smiled at his praise and thought back to how great Anakin and I were. Our teamwork has never failed us, even after all the awkwardness we went through. My appreciation for him increased at the fact that he's never let me down, no matter the situation.

"You're welcome, we were happy to help. My name is (y/n), and my friends name is Anakin." I held my hand out for him to shake.

He studied me as if he was intrigued for a few seconds, then brought my hand up to his lips, "It's a pleasure to meet you, (y/n). My name is Elliot Dalton. But you can call me Elliot."

I blushed and nodded, taking my hand away. "So Elliot, do you know why Count Dooku invaded the city? Or what his future plans are?"

Elliot shook his head solemnly. "Sadly no. He wouldn't tell me anything when I asked. But despite that, it's a good thing that you got me out of there so quickly!" He said cheerfully.

His words made me confused, because I realized he was right. We did get out of there very quickly and with hardly any trouble, which was rare with the Sith. Did we just get super lucky this time? Dooku barely put up a fight, and didn't even bother chasing after us. Something didn't feel right to me but I had no logical clue why we were able to rescue Elliot so easily.

I forced a smile and nodded. "Yes, we were very fortunate to have gotten you out safely. You should get some rest, and I'm gonna figure out our next destination with Anakin."

I turned to leave and I could feel his eyes on me as I walked to the cockpit until I was no longer in his sight. I took a deep breath sat in the co-pilot seat next to Anakin. He looked at me curiously.

"You okay? You seem anxious."

I nodded. "I'm good, I was just gonna ask where were going next."

He shrugged and looked forward again. "We might as well head back to Coruscant. He'll be safe there and we can report back to the Council."

I remembered then that we never heard the negotiations that Dooku wanted to propose, and I became worried that we may have missed a chance to hear important information. What if he attacks the people of Corellia as a way to lure Elliot back? I shook that possibility out of my head. There's a chance it might happen, but for now we had to get Elliot to safety.

Anakin paused for a moment before continuing, "What's his name, anyways?"

"Elliot Dalton. He unfortunately doesn't know anything about the invasion, but the important thing now is that we got him out. And he's really sweet." I said, thinking back to our introduction.

Anakin slowly nodded and didn't say anything else. I sat back in my seat and gazed through the window as we proceeded to speed through the blue lights of hyperspace.

Time skip~

Anakin POV:

(y/n), Elliot and I stood before the Jedi Council, and just finished giving our report of the mission. Elliot stepped forward.

"Based on what I know so far about Count Dooku's plans, which isn't much, is that he's just after me. I don't know why, but it is unlikely that he will stay on Corellia. He will potentially send a bounty hunter after me, or something of that nature."

I knitted my eyebrows together. That didn't make sense. If Dooku was so insistent on using Elliot then why did he not chase after us? Maybe I'm just being paranoid since these types of missions are never that easy, but this mission was too easy. I shrugged it off for now, putting that thought in the back of my mind.

All the Jedi nodded at his assumptions, and Obi-Wan looked between the three of us. "Perhaps Mr. Dalton should reside here for the time being, and you two should be his personal bodyguards. Keep an eye on him as much as possible and see to it that he is protected at all costs."

Elliot grinned when he said that and turned to look at (y/n), who nodded in understanding. The way he stared at her made my stomach churn for some reason. I crossed my arms and looked back to Obi-Wan.

"We'll make sure no harm comes to him."

Obi-Wan nodded and sent the three of us to escort Elliot to his temporary chambers. I walked behind them as Elliot was telling (y/n) stories of his childhood or something, and making her laugh.

"....and then after my siblings and I roughhoused the whole day, we camped out in the lush green grass to watch the stars fill the sky. You should have seen it, there were probably billions! We stayed out the whole night until dawn, when the sun rose and turned the sky pink and yellow."

(y/n) eyes widened in awe at his vivid description. She loves nature and watching the sky change in the night and morning, so I wasn't surprised that this story fascinated her.

"That's beautiful, Elliot."

He smiled at her, "You're beautiful."

From the side of her face I could see a slight blush appear, and she turned her head the other way. "O-oh, thank you."

I rolled my eyes and lightly scoffed. This whole thing was ridiculous, and I didn't understand why he needed two bodyguards. I could do this myself and (y/n) wouldn't have to be here listening to this guy's obnoxious attempts at flirting.

"Okay," I squeeze between the two of them and stand in front of Elliot, "these are the quarters you'll be staying in." I gestured to one of the rooms in the hall that was currently vacant. Elliot looked it up and down and nodded.

"Where will you guys be?" He asked.

"We will take turns standing out here and guarding your room. If anything should happen, one of us will notify the other so that we can get you out of here as quick as possible." I responded.

He smiled and turned to look back at (y/n). "I hope you'll be guarding me for a while. I really enjoy your company." He winked at her and slowly spun to enter his room, leaving us alone.

I groaned when I knew he was out of earshot, "This guy is too much."

(y/n) looked at me, confused, "What do you mean? He's been nothing but kind to us this whole time."

I crossed my arms and gave her an 'Are you serious?' look. It was annoying how much she liked him, already.  "You do realize he's hitting on you, right?"

Her eyes widened and she rubbed her arm awkwardly, averting her eyes from mine, "What? No. I seriously doubt that, Anakin. I think he's just trying to be nice." She didn't sound so confident in her own answer.

I took a few steps forward until I was right in front of her, and then she looked up to meet my eyes. "(y/n), remember that this is still a professional assignment. Don't get too close to him or even spend a lot of time with him, for that matter."

She furrowed her brows at me and crossed her arms, "Why are you so concerned about this? Do you assume I'm going to get too close to him?" She challenged.

I rolled my eyes and huffed, "No, but I don't want you to lose focus because of him. Just do your job, is all I'm saying."

I turned and left the hall before she could respond. I thought about her question: Why am I so concerned about this? Was it because I wanted her to stay focused on the assignment, or was it more? I wasn't sure, but one thing I did know was that the thought of Elliot staring at (y/n) like she was a trophy, and the thought of them laughing, flirting, and touching made my nerves spike and my blood boil.
