Chapter 5
(a/n): This chapter will be pure fluff hehe🥰
(y/n) POV:
Pale dawn light shone through the large window in the room, successfully waking me up. I slowly sat up and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. The sun wasn't quite up yet, but it just barely peeked over the horizon. Turning my head to the left, I noticed another body in the bed with me as well as an arm draped over my legs that I didn't see before.
My eyes widened in shock, and I was ready to jump off and grab my lightsaber until I remembered that Anakin and I decided to share a bed last night. I exhaled in relief and massaged my temples. Last night was weird, because I wasn't sure if Anakin was purposely trying to make me flustered or not. He kept getting so close to me and it was all confusing again. But then I remembered that he's the one that wanted our friendship to go back to 'normal', so I was probably reading too much into his actions.
I sighed gently removed Anakin's arm and threw my legs over the bed, and silently headed to the washroom. Taking my backpack with me, I pulled out my hairbrush, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, and conditioner. I figured that now was a good time to have a shower since we probably wouldn't get this much free time until we get home to Coruscant.
After my quick shower, I dried my hair as much as possible with a towel and got dressed in my Jedi clothes. Then I put on some mascara and rubbed some cream on my face to make it feel smooth and look fresh. My hair was still damp, so I decided to wait for a bit before putting it up. We still had some time to kill before we had to leave.
I decided that this would also be a good time to contact the Jedi Council, and inform them of what Anakin and I know so far. Pulling out my holo-pad communicator, I contacted them and was soon met with the familiar sight of Obi-Wan. I smiled and greeted him, "Good morning, Master Obi-Wan."
"Good to see you, (y/n). Have you and Anakin come across anything of significance?" He asked.
I nodded my head, "Yes. We learned from one of the hotel workers that Count Dooku led the invasion in Coronet City. We don't know why yet, but he requested an audience with us today to discuss negotiations. So we're hoping that we can keep the people here safe and apprehend Dooku."
Obi-Wan hummed in response and seemed satisfied with the plan. "Well, I won't keep you waiting. Remember to be careful, and be sure that Anakin doesn't do anything too reckless. We really can't afford to add more problems to this mission."
I chuckled at his words, "Of course, Obi-Wan. I'll keep an eye on him." Obi-Wan nodded and gave me an amused smile, before disappearing from my holo-pad.
I walked out of the washroom, expecting Anakin to be up already. But my assumption was wrong because he was still laying under the covers, snoring lightly.
"Of course you're not up yet." I said, as if he could hear me.
I walked over and shook him by the shoulders, "Hey sleepyhead, it's time to get up."
He opened his eyes and looked up at me, blinking a couple times. I noticed that his blonde curls were extra messy, which made me giggle.
"What's happening?" He asked sleepily.
"We have a mission to finish, remember?" I asked.
He turned his head to look out the window and see how much the sun had risen, then went back under the covers. "There's no rush yet. Give me five more minutes."
I yanked the covers off of him, but he just pulled them back over himself.
I crossed my arms and looked up to the ceiling, "Anakin, we seriously have to get going soon."
"I can't hear you, I'm asleep. Come back later." He said, attempting to get me to let him sleep some more. But I didn't give up yet, and just then, an evil yet hilarious idea came to my mind.
Turning to walk back to the washroom, I sighed dramatically, "Oh well, I guess I'll just have to let you sleep."
He didn't respond but I knew he didn't fall asleep that fast. I rolled my eyes, amused at how gullible he is to believe that I gave up that easily. I quietly entered the washroom and found my water bottle that I had left on the sink counter last night. I shook it, and to my relief, there was still water in there. I didn't want to have him hear me filling it up if it was empty.
I slowly crept back over to the bed, thankful that Anakin's back was facing me so that he wouldn't see me. As soon as I stood right over him, I opened the cap to my water bottle, and poured the water all over his head.
His eyes shot open and he quickly sat up, looking around in confusion and shock. I took a few steps back, putting my hand over my mouth to conceal my laughter. He still didn't have a shirt on, so the water dripped from his hair, down his cheeks and chest.
Anakin turned to me when he heard my laughter, and still wore a shocked expression. "What happened?!" He looked at the water bottle in my hands, "Did you dump that on me?"
I giggled and nodded my head. Then I placed the bottle down on the nightstand and put my hands on my hips, "How else was I gonna get you to wake up?"
He looked at me and laughed in disbelief. Then he shook his head while looking down at the blankets, his wet hair dripping on the sheets and the corners of his lips curving into a sinister smile. "Oh (y/n)," He sighed, "you're gonna regret that."
He suddenly jumped off the bed and sprinted towards me. I squealed in surprise and bolted the other way, using the force to open the door and turning to run down the hallway. The whole time I was giggling like a child and grinning from ear to ear, adrenaline flowing through my veins as I ran as fast as I could. But because my leg wasn't completely healed yet, I was a bit slower than usual. I didn't even make it halfway through the hallway when Anakin caught me by the waist, spun me around, and threw my body over his shoulder.
"No An-Ani! Put me down!" I was completely out of breath, but still laughed like a madwoman in between my words. He turned around and ran back to the room with me over his shoulder, "Not a chance, it's payback time." Though I couldn't see him, I could tell he was also smiling, and both of us didn't even care if we woke other people in the building.
The door to our room was left open from when we ran out, so Anakin ran straight in and used the force to shut it behind him. Then he unceremoniously threw me on the bed and grabbed the water bottle that I had put on the nightstand. I knew what was going to happen next and tried to move away but I didn't react quick enough. He smirked and climbed onto the bed beside me on his knees.
"Have a taste of your own medicine." He poured the rest of the water in the bottle on my head, making me shriek at how cold it was, "Nooooo!" I tried shielding myself by putting my hands over my head.
I started to laugh so hard that I thought my lungs would break, and Anakin was laughing too at my now drenched head. I sat up and pushed him off of the bed, "You jerk." I said, still with a big smile and trying to catch my breath. He stood up and walked over to the couch to get his bag, "You started it."
I rolled my eyes and hopped off the bed, going back to the washroom to dry my hair again. Looking at myself in the mirror, my cheeks were tinted pink from all the laughing I did, and they felt sore from how much I smiled. Even on missions like this, Anakin and I could still make it fun for ourselves while getting the job done. I'm so happy that I have him here with me.
Leaving the washroom after putting my hair in a high ponytail, I noticed that Anakin finally put on his Jedi clothing, and looked ready to go.
"You ready?" I asked. He smiled at me and nodded, then walked up beside me and put a hand on the middle of my back. The contact made me blush and I turned my head away slightly.
"Let's do this." He said confidently.
He walked ahead of me and I followed behind, thinking back to my thoughts this morning about all the times he's gotten close to me since we got here. And just now, during all the fun we had. That's what normal friends do, right? I tried convincing myself of that, but it didn't feel right. The way we interacted, and how it felt when he touched me or made me flustered.
I shook my head, getting those thoughts out of my mind. No matter how much Anakin's actions confused me, I had to focus on the mission now. We made our way back to the lobby and left the building, into the bright outside world. It's time we did what we came here for, and hopefully not cause any more trouble than there already is.
