SORRRRYYYYY! for the late update *Holds Ears* I just had this really bad writer's block and my mind was blank but here is a loooong chap for my amazing readers and as I'm in Pakistan on holiday so I was really busy.

And many people are getting confused, sorry for the similar names but

Arina khan = the girl Adam is getting engaged with

Alina Zeewad = Adam's sister

Arina's POV

While we were shopping I get a text from Alina saying she want to hangout so i just text her the address and tell her to join us. We exchanged numbers when she came to our house for the dinner about the proposal and since then we've been chatting alot and became really good friends. I'm so happy and lucky that I'll soon have such a good sister-in-law. Well back to present , right now we are in Starbucks sipping on our drinks and chatting well i won't call it chatting because instead of talking with me they are teasing me about the jerk aka Adam and trying to ship us and all i do is stare blankly at them. Yeah they got along really well with Alina Alhumdullilah.

After we finish our drinks, as we come out of Starbucks Amina gets a call.

"Sorry guys I have to go, Mum wants me home to discuss something" She says

"Hey can you please drop me home too, i have to pack my stuff for tomorrow's flight." May asks

"Sure why not" Amina says and look at me as if asking permission to go

"It's OK guys i understand but both of you don't forget to text me before your flight" I reply with a smile

We say our goodbyes and they head towards the exit of the mall while me and Alina hangout a bit more before she get a call from her mum to come home as they have to go somewhere.

We say bye with a hug and She Promises to hangout with soon.

I jump into my car and drive home. When I reach home Its already dinner time so I have my dinner and do my night routine before jumping into the bed and dozing off.

(the next morning)

I wake up to feel the sun's long rays tickle my skin which is surprising because i never wake up this early but i didn't sleep peacefully all night and just slept after Fajr for few hours because of the weird feeling I've been having since last night. I feel like something strange is gonna happen today something I won't possibly like. I brush the thoughts aside and do my normal morning routine and go to have breakfast. Halfway through the breakfast I get a text from Alina and I start chatting with her.

I spent the rest of the day being a lazy couch potato in front my laptop or the TV watching movies or random YouTube Videos. I get a text fro Alina in the evening telling me to get ready and pack my best dress and that she is picking me up, when I ask the reason she just tells me to hurry. I get ready and wait for her in front of the house and I do so.

I jump into the car as soon as the car halts in front of the house. She takes me to one of the most expensive Beauty Salon mostly used by billionaires and Celebrities and then take me to a hotel. In the car she tell me the reason and all I do is stare at her dumbstruck.

Adam's POV

I woke up and did my daily routine.

I was feeling Armani.

After I put my suit on I go down stairs to the kitchen to eat. I see Alina eating pancakes and texting on her phone laughing.

"What's up?" I say sitting down.

Her laugh turns to a frown.

"Nothing"

I raise a brow and look at her phone then at her. She looks at her phone then at me.
I quickly grab her phone as she tries to hold onto it.

I look at her phone. No way. Arina.

Alina: wow you ruined his shirt in the mall,
I'm surprised he didn't sue you.

Arina: I kinda felt bad... Well kinda.

Alina: do you wanna hang out later?, and
get to know each other more?.

Arina: of course just text me when.

I look at my sister in distaste.

"Traitor".

"Am not"

"Are too"

"Am not"

"What are you talking about?" We turn our heads towards my mother who just came in.

Nothing interesting". I say standing up.

"Where are you going, you haven't eaten yet?" Mom says.

"Office" I mutter getting up.

Alina sighs as I walk away.

I get in my car and drive towards the office.

I get a call from Alex, I put him on speaker.

"Hey man where are you" he says

"I'm heading towards the office why".

"Dude you gotta stop by the venue for the party".

What party? I voice my thoughts "What party".

The line is silent for a moment "You dumbass, you totally forgot didn't you it's your engagement party tonight, dang did you not buy a suit for that did you even tell your mom OR sister, oh no let me guess you didn't even tell the girl".

Ahh! How could I forget?

"Shit I messed up, you know what it doesn't matter I'll be there, it's gonna be a work thing so my mom and sister don't need to be there and let's be honest Arina will either humiliate me or spill a beverage on me"

Alex laughs "alright, it's your stupid plan just saying the Lockwood businesses CEO will not buy your I'm engaged invest in me scheme"

"I'll go buy myself a ring"

"But seriously dude you should see what Alina (A/N: Alina is Adam's sister) has designed for this event"

"Hmm I'll have to see it for myself later tonight"

I pull up in front of my office and walk in.

Alex continues "I'm confused if Alina organized the event then why is she not gonna be there"

"Your not gonna believe what she was doing earlier she wa-" I stop talking as I stare at my assistant um what is her name again.

"Jes-rosi-amand-" I try remembering her name.

She rolls her eyes "Rachael".

I give her a look "coffee", "please".

She walks away.

"So what was your sister doing?" Alex asks impatiently.

Wow I think I need a new assistant.
The way she walked away it had sass to it.

Hmm... ya I'll probably fire her.

"What did Alina say" Alex eagerly.

"Right where was I oh yes Alina was texting........ 'arina'! can you believe it my own sister, I think alina would wanna invite Arina to the event so she isn't coming simple".

"Well Arina could be alina's sister in law so it's a pretty good idea for them to hang out I mean it was a pretty smart idea in Alina part".

"Who's side are you on?, you know what forget it I gotta go, see you later" I say annoyed.

I need to prepare for the Lockwood businesses CEO.

(Hours Later)

I enter the hall where Alex greets me. "Hey man"

He turns to everyone "Adam Zeewad the man of the hour!"

People erupt in cheers.

I unbutton my suit.
This place was filled with man in suits. Women in dresses, alright Adam don't embarrass yourself.

Alex clicks his fingers in front of my face.
I blink and ask him what his problem was.

He raises his brows. "Adam are you nervous?, I never thought I'd see the day".

He takes two glasses of champagne.

He hands me one "for the nerves".

I drink all the liquid and excuse myself to talk to people it's my engagement party after all.

I was talking to one of my board of directors when someone tapped my shoulders.

I turn around to see Sara she was the Lockwood families little daughter 24 and really good looking.

"Hello Sara"

"Lets skip the pleasantries and get to the point"

"Why I don't know what you mean?" I play dumb.

She rolls her eyes.

"Your fiance she is here right?, you wouldn't be daft enough to not being her here do you think you can fool my father?"

I grit my teeth. And here I thought I could get away with it.

"She's fashionably late...Women" I add the last part to annoy her.

She smiles. Take and pasts me bumping my shoulder. Classic.

I walk over to Alex.

"I need Arina to convince Lockwood".

Alex frowns "good luck"

I groan and whip out my phone and call Alina.

5 minutes later

"ERG! Fine but when this is over I'm telling mom".

"Listen do what you want get me the girl"

I hang up. And look at Alex. He shakes his head "the things you will do for a deal".

I avoid the Lockwoods. Shit I forgot about the ring.

I pace towards Alex but get stopped by another member of the board of governors the a-hole who forced me into this dumb event.

"Sorry could you give me a moment".

I don't wait for his reply.

"ALEX! I forgot about the ring call Alina and tell her to wait".

I reach for my pocket for my phone. Alex stop me "don't worry I have your sister's number" good wait wha-

"Go" Alex says.

I sneak out back and get into my car. I use GPS for the Location of a jewelers shop.

Once I find one I run in and quickly skim through the rings. I'm so unprepared.

I see one with diamonds on it and it's heard shaped so people will definitely fall for it.

I buy it and race back to the venue. I park at the back. And see Alina's car. I get out and see Alina and Arina get out.

Arina was wearing a black long dress. Hmm good enough. I quickly run over to her and reach for my pocket and get the small red box i open it, take the ring throw the box behind me and reach for her hand and put in on.

"How romantic" Alina says sarcastically.

I look at her "Go inside" I say shaking my head.

"Thank you your the best sister on earth!".
She's says sarcastically again.

I turn to Arina. Awkward.

She had a emotion less face so I couldn't read her.

"Okay listen I need your help I wouldn't do anything like this normally but I really need this investment to go down my board of governors will have my head if I don't. I don't want you getting any ideas of any of this okay this is only for business."

"Just relax and smile".

"You can't just expect me to come like this after tonight I'm not your wife yet, I don't want anyone to get the wrong idea"

My wife? Ha no way.

I take her hand and she flinches away

"What are you doing?" she says.

"Look this has gotta look convincing, after the party we can cut a deal about this marriage thing".

She gives me a sharp look "I am doing this for your father I heard he was a good and noble father and I want his will to be fulfill".

Who is she to speak of him?

"You didn't even know him"

"All I need to know is if he was a good Muslim worth of being respected and I know he is he helped my family a lot and for that we are in debt to him"

"He's....gone You own him nothing"

"We should discuss this later"

I don't want to.

I put my hand out she takes it.

Once we enter I walk around and introduce her to people.

I was actually surprised she talked about her prestigious Columbia university and sounded professional. I found out she studies English literature.

Not that I cared but i had to ask her "did you like the ring?" i whisper so nobody hears.

"Yes Masha Allah it's beautiful"

"What does that mean?" I ask.

She looks at me surprised "i-i-you- don't know"she clears her throat.

I roll my eyes "don't get dramatic".

"It means... well it's to show appreciation for a person or happening, the closest English meaning is 'God willed it' it's for joy and praise".

Hmm. I see Lockwood walking towards the bar. I look around and spot Alex has looking right at me he points towards Lockwood businesses CEO and points his finger at me then him. I nod.

I turn to Arina "Listen were gonna walk towards Lockwood businesses CEO this is a big deal for me after small talk excuse your self from me alright got it".

She nods.

"Oh and Arina, stay away from the drinks".

She smiles and pinches me. Oww!!!

We go over to Lockwood I introduce her and she excuses herself and we get down to business.

5 minutes in I can't convince the guy

"You can benefit from this do I need to go over the pros of this investment?" My God I can't crack him.

He laughs "You know what son, if it were a scenario where your father may he rest in peace was making this deal I would say yes really I would but it's not and I'm not sure if this is a like father like son situation I mean your still a young man probably finding his way through this world of business"

Why does everyone being my father into it.
I need to do something or else all this for nothing I need to make myself more believable.

I sigh and sit in one of the bar stools and look around to see Arina. I find her laughing with Alina.

"If I were not mature enough trust me I wouldn't be getting married".

He laughs

I continue "I'm gonna let you in on a little secret, this marriage... is arranged, it was in my father's will, apparently this happens in Pakistan all the time it's normal I didn't even know this innocent girl until I think two weeks ago, My point is I stepped up. I saw after my father's death the responsibilities, the company, my mother, my sister, and you know what i handled it just like i told my board of governors I'd handle this. I think that's mature enough, so what do you say Lockwood I mean the world of business it's a long journey I have got to start somewhere" i reach my hand out for a shake for more persuasion.

Everything I had said was true.

He looks at me and shakes my hand.
He congratulates me on the deal and engagement "You take care of her now" he whispers and leaves with his wife and children.

YES YES YES YES!!!

I did it.

I hear someone clink their glass multiple times and then hear it shatter. I look around and hear gasps from around the room.

"I would like to make a toast to my bestie Adam, who has annoyingly not told anyone how he and his bae meet".

My eyes widened. Alex.

I also see Arina who looks embarrassed. To be honest she's had no right to be embarrassed she just all of a sudden walked into my life because of a will, now i have to say some bullshit story that people are gonna have to believe on the bright side at least the Lockwood's left, oh and I'm gonna kill Alex. It's not professional to get drunk at a business event.

I smile and walk over to Arina and put my arm around her. She make a small sound. She fake smiles and whispers in my ears "Look you probably don't care but in my religion... our religion your not allowed to touch a girl like this especially if she isn't your wife"

Again with the wife. To annoy her I respond by saying "I thought you liked it".

She looks at me with wide eyes.

"The day we first meet i dropped coffee on his suit" she says while looking in my eyes.

Everyone laughs. Hmm two can play it that game "Yes it was love at first fight".

Alex laughs and raised his hand like a school kid "I was there too".

"Yes to separate the cat fight" I reply.

"She did it twice" Alex said laughing while taking another drink. Alina stops him.

"Enough of that little one"she says.

After the guests left I was still in the hall with Alina, Arina and Alex.

Alex was still tipsy even after he drank the water. "Did you know all our names start with the Letter A?".

I pull Arina aside.

"This was kinda fun...kinda I mean it was unexpected for sure". She says.

"Yes last minute".

"I heard you made the deal"

"Yup"

"Cool"

"Aha"

"Listen let's not avoid the problem at stake, we need to come to a conclusion I just can't commit right now I'm not ready I'm not sure if you got the memo" I say rudely but you know i had to say it.

She looks down.

"Can't even do one thing for your father can you I'm doing this for my parents I'm understanding why can't you".

"Look Arina I got the Lockwood's right where I want them and it's because of this marriage facade. We could pretend. we can have a live in situation". I suggest she looks at me with a gasp and fury.

"WHAT!?"

A waiter was passing us with wine glasses when Arena took one and threw the wine on me. "I told my mother i would marry you already, what do you want me to say huh?!, live in situation, you disgust me " She runs out and Alina (A/N: Adams sister) runs after her.

Alex turns to me confused and sees the wine on me "haha you got slayed" and then he faints. I sigh, what a kid. I call a waiter over to put him in my car.

I gotta go home to the aftermath of this.

Shit.
