Adam's POV

"I guess I effed up!" I exclaim once I see Alex.

"Come sit, Brother!"

"You seriously are telling me to sit right now?!"

"Okay fine! Keep standing, I was just being a good friend." He replies and I shake my head at him

"Start?"

"What?"

"The story and explanation"

"Okay so, There was an important board meeting in the morning and I couldn't find the file needed so I got mad and shouted at Arina."

"Great! Husband goals!" Alex says sarcastically

"Thats not just where I effed up!"

"Then?"

"So I went to the meeting in the spoilt mood and when I reach there I see the person I never wanted to see. That  Henry!"

"Oh shiz! Tell me He didn't say something stupid!"

"You know thats impossible!"

"Hmm..anyways what happened then?"

"So there was a small problem and the officials were constantly taking his side and trying to prove me wrong which got be infuriated and i left the room."

I glance at Alex in order to see if he is listening or not.

He nods at me to assure that he is listening.

"Henry stopped me at the exit and started talking shit"

"What did he say?"

Flashback

"Mr. Zeewad!" I hear Henry calling me from behind but I ignore

"I guess my revenge plan is going successful!" He says

I stop and turn around.

"What revenge are you talking about? What are you planning to do?" I enquire

"You insulted me infront of everyone so I needed a revenge! Planning? No one tells what they are planning against their rivals!" He says with a smirk

"But today you got a sneak peak of what I am going to go!" He continues

"Such a kid you are! Seriously thinking that you can ruin my business or my relation with the board members?" I say

"Well I believe I can! And if that doesn't work then I have another plan that involves your love as well!"

No he did not!

"DON'T YOU FRIKKING DARE! I repeat don't you dare even try to come near Arina!"

"I sure will!" He replies slyly

That makes me lose my control and my fist lands on his jaw in a matter of fee seconds just like the last time.

He still doesn't stop talking rubbish and says inapropriate things about Arina so I start punching and kicking again unaware of who is watching us and who isn't.

"Mr. Zeewad! Stop right this moment!" Mr. Iqbal one of the head members voice rings through my ears so I let Henry's body fall

"We will talk about this matter tomorrow!" Mr. George declares and they all leaves

I rush towards my car and leave the area.

Flashback Ends

"Wow! Never knew you were this smart!" Alex exclaims

"Shut up!" I glare at him

"Anyways! Is that it or is there more?"

"I kinda shouted a lot at Arina and said stuff I wasn't supposed to say?"

"What the hell is wrong with you, Adam?!"

"I don't know man I seriously don't know!"

"Okay! I can't say anything about the fight with Henry but make sure you apologise to Arina once you are home!"

"Okay I will!"

"You know what? Buy her something she likes because I am sure she is hurt by what you said!"

"What do I buy her?"

"Dude! She is your wife! You should know what she likes."

He is right!

"I..I do know!"

"Yeah right!"

"Anyways! Its quite late so I'm gonna head home!"

"Alright! I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Insha Allah!" I reply

"Wow! Improved! Arina did a great job!" He says smiling

After saying goodbye I leave and take a quick stop at the masjid on the way to pray Isha.

While I am driving home I get a call from Mr. George.

"Greetings, Mr. George!"

"Hello! Mr. Zeewad! I called to inform you that you have been suspended from any board meetings for the rest of the month due to your unacceptable behaviour!"

"What? Why?! I had a reasonable reason for the fight!"

"Well! That does not mean you start hitting someone in Office territory!"

"He was saying inappropriate things about my wife which I can not tolerate! You can't just kick me out for a month" I reply

"Don't make me increase the punishment and If you have any Questions, visit me at my office tomorrow during working hours"

I cut the call and throw the phone on the passenger seat!

What the hell is happening!

My mood is spoilt so instead of going home I decide to go to the seaside for some fresh air.

I walk near the water for an hour and then plan to head home.

Just as I am getting inside the car, I get a call from an unknown number.

"Hello?"

"I heard the great Mr. Zeewad got suspended from board meetings!"

"What do you want Henry?"

"Arina!"

"Shut the hell up and don't ever try to call me again!"

I turn the phone off and speed the car.

Not being in the right senses I speed the car way too much resulting in me losing control.

Everything happens so suddenly that I don't get time to react.

Arina's POV

Its being 5 hours since Adam dropped me off an disappeared.

After 4 hours of his disappearance I got worried and tried calling him but he was not receiving my call.

I called Alex to ask a while ago and he said that Adam left his house 2 hours ago.

Right Now, it is 12 am and I tried calling but his phone is switched off.

Getting so worried I started  praying nafal prayers and reciting ayat ul kursi.

I keep strolling around the house and sit on the couch with my eyes close.

I don't realise that I have fallen asleep did I hear the doorbell ring twice.

Knowing that its Adam I run towards the door as fast as I can and open the door.

I see a wounded Adam who seem to have got injured on his head and arm.

"Adam!" I cry and hug him with all my power.

"Ouch!"

"Sorry sorry!" I move away

"How did this happen?"

"I got in to an accident by my car hitting a pole! But it was a small one so I only got some stitches on the side of my head and my arm is hurt."

"Ya Allah! Were you over speeding again? Adam you need to be careful! Why were you out this late anyways?!" I start questioning

"Stop!! Stop questioning! Why do you care anyways?!" He says making me more angry

"Why do I care? You ask me why I care?"

He ignores me and start walking but I grab his arm.

I am tired of his behaviour since the past few days. He have been giving me cold shoulder and arguing with me. 

I am tired of his mood swings.

"I do care! I care because I love you! But I hate that I love you! Because I know you would never reciprocate these feelings!"

I yell at him with my eyes closed and run towards the bedroom immediately.

Deciding against my heart and will, I take my favourite pillow and barge into one of the guestroom to sleep.

I lay down on the new bed and keep tossing and turning because sleep is no where near anymore.

Tired of trying, I grab a Quran from the shelf instead and start reciting it till fajr Adhan starts on my phone.

After praying Fajr, I finally feel sleepy so jump on the bed to sleep.

12 pm

When I wake up, Adam is already gone for work and my afternoon class is in one hour so I get ready in a hurry and leave.

My classes carry on till 6 pm and then I leave for the revision classes that i started taking for some exam help as this is the last semester before I graduate.

By the time I return back home it is 9 pm and Adam is already home and asleep.

I heat some food for myself and devour over them alone in the living room.

Grabbing a jug from the kitchen, I fill it up with water in order to take it for the night and start proceeding towards my room.

While in the corridor I bump into someone's strong body and the water spills on the opposite person which can only be....Adam.

"Not again!" He grumbles.

"Oops!" I reply and run to my room

The rest of the week up until Friday is spent busy like that.

Friday

Today I don't have any classes Alhumdullilah.

I had such a hectic week full of classes.

Today I woke up early and made breakfast for Adam.

We don't talk anymore like we used to do.

Only talk when there is something important.

Because when he is home, I am not and when I am home he isn't and also due to that fight and confession he tries to avoid any conversations between us.

When Adam leaves for work, I take a long relaxing bath and change into some comfortable sweatpants and a loose tee.

The whole morning is spent with me studying for the upcoming exams.

In the afternoon time, I grab my phone to check the time and realise the date.

OH NO! It is Friday!

Which means only 2 days for the contract to end!

Ya Allah!

Why did the time go so soon?!

Tears starts pricking from my eyes.

I sit on the sofa in the living room for a while and then gets an idea.

I can't have Adam kicking me out of the house by himself because that will hurt more.

If I stayed today than that is the only thing that will take place as he is always home over the weekend.

I think I need to leave today. Before Adam comes home.

I quickly start gathering my belongings as much as I can and pack them up in a bag.

It takes me hours to do so and then I take them down to my car.

Once done with packing and getting ready I grab a paper and pen to write a small note and stick it on fridge because Adam always drinks water when he enters the house after work.

Then I take a final look at the house and wipe my tears before exiting the house.

I drive towards my parents house and ring the bell but no one answers so I try again.

They might be out so I call them just to ask.

I talk casually first not giving mama a hint of anything.

Talking to them, I get to know that they have gone to New jersey for the weekend to meet my mum's family.

I talk to them for a while without saying anything and then say my goodbye and cut the call.

I take my luggage inside and then lock the house and car.

I plan to go out for a walk around the area.

After walking for a while, it starts to rain but I keep walking.

It reminds me of the time before I got married which again brings tears to my eyes.

Adam's POV

I return home from work but don't hear any of Arina noise.

Strange.

She did not have any classes today so she should be home.

I proceed towards the kitchen to grab a bottle of water from the fridge but a note on the refrigerator gains my attention.

It is a note by Arina saying that she is leaving as the contract is coming to end.

She is gone.

She left.

Tears start flowing my eyes.

I call the person whom I always call when I am in pain or trouble.

"Alex! She's gone!"
