Andromeda on her way to meet with Ted, Sturgis and Diana, when she felt someone touch her back and turned to see Sirius behind her

"what do you want Siri, trying to pull one of your pranks on me, again" she asked

"no, not this time at least, I want your help with something but it is a little private" he said

they walked to a side where no one could hear them

" so what is it?" Andromeda asked

" you're pretty good at transfiguration right?" Sirius said

" why the question? as far as I am concerned you are doing pretty good on that class" Andi said

" I am, but I need help with some advanced stuff"

" advanced stuff? what are you up to Sirius, if it is something related to your prank business with your friends I am not interested"

" it has nothing to to with pranks, I swear, Andi"

" sorry cos but I know you and it isn't easy for me to believe you"

" fine, I'm going to tell you something but you have to swear not to tell anybody, not a single soul you get it, or we will get you pranked for eternity"

" lips sealed Siri, now spit"

"you know my friend Remus don't you?"

" yes, I've heard of him"

" he is a werewolf, he was attacked as a kid"

"ok, he does seem a little sick at times and he has those scars"

" every month on the full moon he goes to the shrieking shack to transform with out hurting anybody, its really painful for him, we don't want him to go through it alone"

"if you are trying to turn yourselves into werewolves, I can't help you"

"we don't want to turn into werewolves, we want to turn into animagi, so we can be with him, you know about the process, don't you?"

"I do, but it is really long and complicated, not to say dangerous, are you sure you want to do it?"

" yes, for our friend, and we're some of the brightest wizards on our class, we can do it if you help us"

"I'll help you, just because you're doing this for your friend"

"so what do we need to do?"

"first you need to be able to cast a corporeal patronus charm, have a clear view of which animal you'll transform into"

"Ok, so let's begin practicing the patronus charm, we'll need to think of happy memories, really happy memories" James said

and so the four 13 year olds began casting the spell, Remus had managed a big silver cloud, James had also made a silver cloud, Sirius, had some faint silvery vapor coming out of his wand while Peter just had a couple of sparkles.

Weeks passed by as the four of them reunited to practice the spell Sirius tried all sorts of memories from his time with his friends, he even tried memories of playing with Diana, but then he thought of another memory, one that he didn't find particularly happy but that did mean a lot to him, when he got sorted into Griffindor and Diana got sorted into Ravenclaw, the first time in his life he felt he was truly free, from the claws that his family kept on him, with this memory in his mind he casted the spell

"Specto Patronum" he yelled

a silver pointy eared dog, came out of his wand and started to run around the room

"I did it!!! I casted a corporeal patronus!!!" Sirius said

"It is a cute doggie, how do we call you now" James said

"what do you mean?" Remus asked

"now that we're doing this animagi thing together we need some codenames to talk about it, you Remus will be Moony, you're a werewolf after all, you Sirius are a dog, similar to a wolf but we have to distinguish you from Moony, how about Bonechaser" James said

"I think you watch too many muggle spy films is that what you call them the long moving pictures? , and that name doesn't really suit me, it is a little to creepy" Sirius said

As they were talking about that Diana Padmore passed by with a couple of her Ravenclaw friends and Lily Evans, Sirius kept looking at Diana, she had grown quite pretty over the past couple of years, he got distracted, when he looked back to James he was also looking at that direction, but towards Lily.

"Ok failed romeos, focus, Sirius if you like Padmore that much why don't we call you Padfoot, it relates to dogs and Padmore" Remus said

"I would normaly be offended but I actually like that name Moony, and James now that you have your oh so happy memory of watching Evans stroll down the hall try casting the spell" Sirius said

"watch and learn Black" James said

as after closing his eyes he casted the spell thinking of the first time he saw Lily, then a huge silver stag appeared in the room

"wow, Potter a little sight of that red flower of yours walks the corridor and you all of a sudden can do that, guess all those muggles songs are right love is a pretty powerful magic" Sirius said.

"that wasn't the memory of her I was thinking of" James said

"but it was a memory of her, so what could be your codename heartrober" Sirius said happily.

"how about Prongs, it fits because of the animal and is cute too, for his girlfriend" Remus said

little did the boys know that Lily and Diana were actually watching them

" such little pranksters" Diana said

" I know, that kid James is such a git when it comes to Severus, but he may still be a git to his friends" Lily said.

"I still think it is a cool idea" Diana said

"what is a good idea?"

" to practice the patronus charm, it would be good for our O.W.Ls" Diana said

"it should be fun" Lily said

the two girls found a spot to practice in an empty classroom, at first they threw silver clouds at one another.

Then Lily thought of that first train ride with Severus, when she had first met James too and he wasn't a total git, like he was today

"Specto Patronum" she casted

as a silver doe appeared from her wand and ran around the classroom

" so cool, your patronus is a doe, and James's was a stag, do you think that was a coincidence? or do you actually like him? you know, they say that when two patronuses are of the same animal the wizards are soulmates" Diana said

"it was just a coincidence Diana, of course I don't actually like him, but his patronus was pretty cool I'll admit that, but we are not soulmates, I could never have a soulmate that's so mean to others, specially people who have done nothing to him how about you give it a go don't only think of a happy memory, but a memory that's important to you " Lily said

Diana thought of the day she received the letter of the Carrows disowning her, how Sirius had gone to confort her and Sturgis offering his home for her to go for christmas, that christmas was so magical.

"Specto Patronum" she casted

a little silver fox appeared beside her

" look at it, it's so cute" Lily said just as she saw Severus of the window and ran after him

Diana stayed in the class room for a while but headed out to hear some sort of discusión between Severus and Lily

Weeks later in another patronus practice session, Peter finally managed to produce a corporeal patronus it was a little rat and Sirius couldn't stop commenting about how it's tail looked like a worm so they decided his codename would be Wormtail, after that Remus too could perform the spell, his patronus being of course a wolf, they were sure he could cast it before but he was just afraid of doing it.
