That Day
As the bat-like creature carrying Regina ran out of sight, Henry turned to Emma and yelled
"Where is that thing taking her?"
Emma stayed quiet.
"Where is it taking her!? Answer me Emma!?" Henry said angrily, pointing a sword at Emma.
"Henry, there is no need for a sword put it down. Please." Emma finally replied cautiously.
"I don't care how long it takes or how dangerous it is. I am going to find her if it's the last thing I do!" Henry said as he walked out the door. The door slammed behind him. He then followed the trail that the bat creature had left behind. He followed it so far, but then it eventually disappeared. The direction of the tracks that were there lead in the way of Regina's vault.
'Maybe she's trapped inside.' Henry thought. He ran to the vault, broke the lock on the door and dashed inside.
"Mom... Mom..." Henry yelled in between breaths. "Where are you?"
He frantically looked through the vault, but Regina was nowhere to be found.
"Wait a second, Henry. Slow down. The bat would probably have taken her to a place where I probably wouldn't look. Where could that be...?" He thought as he looked around. "Home! It's so obvious, it would probably slip by me!"
Henry dashed out of the vault and ran home as fast as he could. As he burst through the door he shouted hoarsely,
"Mom! Mom, are you here?!"
He heard a sound coming from his room. He ran up stairs, but the door was locked. He broke down the door and inside he saw Regina, hurt, unconscious, and tied up to his bed.
"Mom!" Henry exclaimed. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" He asked her frantically. Regina didn't respond.
"Mom! Mom! Regina!" Henry he yelled as he shook her. Regina awoke and shook her head groggily.
"Henry?" She said as she blinked the sleep out of her eyes.
"Henry!" She suddenly opened her eyes wide. "That beast, it's outside. Henry, you're not safe here; you need to leave!" Regina said.
"No," Henry said "I have to fight it!"
Henry gripped his sword and ran outside. As he looked up, he saw the largest creature he had ever seen in front of his eyes. It was a large, black bat with beady red, fiery eyes filled with anger.
Henry ran towards brandishing his sword as bravely as he could.
The creature turned towards Henry and began spewing fire out of his mouth. "Humph, well, what else can it do?" He thought.
Henry ran and hid behind a large apple tree and waited for the creature to come closer to him. The creature slowly peered around the tree. Holding his breath, he jumped out from behind the tree and slashed at it. It recoiled and snarled fiercely at him. After a few more slashes from Henry's sword, it blasted one more fireball at him and flew away.
Regina dashed out of the house and ran to Henry.
"Henry!" Regina exclaimed.
"That was amazing! You were so brave." She pulled him into a hug. "I am very proud of you."
"I was so scared you were going to get hurt." She said. " ...and that I would lose you and-"
"Mom, you could never lose me. I'm your little prince remember?" Henry beamed.
"Yes, I know" said Regina with a huge smile on her face. "I am very proud of you. Henry, you are a true hero, no matter what Violet says to you." Regina said.
"Thanks, I try my best." Henry laughed.
"I know you do." Regina said, hugging him one more time.
"Well, I'm really tired now" said Henry "So, I'm going to head to bed, unless you need help me with anything... Do you?" He asked Regina.
"No, that's okay Henry. You go on to bed; you have definitely had a very long day." Regina answered.
"Okay," said Henry as he went up the stairs.
Regina followed him up to his room. When she opened the door, she saw Henry reading his book. Regina walked over, kissed his forehead and said,
"You did great out there today." Regina said.
"Thank you," Henry said. "I was really nervous. Honestly, I thought I was going to lose, and I thought you were gonna get hurt because of that."
"Oh, Henry." Regina said as she gave him a hug. "What did I tell you before? I said that your a hero and as we both know, heroes always win." Regina said with a laugh.
"I know." Henry said with a laugh "It's seems hard to be a hero sometimes."
"Maybe. I'm still learning how to be a hero." She said absent-mindedly. "Anyway," She snapped out of it. "Now what do we do?" She asked Henry. Henry sat up on the bed and said as bravely as possible, "Now," He said.
"We get revenge."
