Evie & Adams

Title: Evie & Adams

Author: HiddenTruths20

This is my honest opinion of the work. There are other styles of review and mine is just one. Teen fics are not my thing, but this is an unbiased look into the material. Here's the breakdown:

Score: 8/10

Title- It's pretty cute, honestly, and sounds like the name of a publishing company (wouldn't we all like that). It's to the point and clearly indicates there are going to be two key characters that this book is about. It fits well with the ideas the author presents.

Cover- The picture is eye catching and the font is complementing, which is something that really needs to stand out and mesh properly to catch someone's eye in the long list of Wattpad creations.

Plot- The plot is really wonderful. The author presents adolescents struggling to find their place in the world, discovering who they are. They have to fight off pretenses of who they should be based on what other people think, which in any situation is relatable. If you're alive, you can relate to this struggle. The expectation to be who your parents want, to do the things your friends want you to do, the whole jump when I say jump thing is something that the author presents very well.

I honestly don't know if the jock partying and drinking underage is something most teens can relate to. I can't, because I didn't do that, but I know there's some readers that hang out with outgoing crowds so I imagine this is an accurate telling of such events.

The story is moving at a great pace. It is just fast enough to keep us reading, and just slow enough for the characters to develop.

Characters- They are wonderfully written individuals. The author presents their feelings and emotions splendidly, and they are easy to relate to in that regard for anyone who's ever been a teen. They're fairly complex, as well, with family drama and real life problems that help shape them into the characters we see on the pages.

I love how the author is helping them find their voices and morph into the people they choose to be, rather than what's chosen for them. It is refreshing to see characters changing throughout a novel, as it's a key element to most plot lines and sometimes ends up being an underdeveloped approach.

Grammar, Spelling, and Punctuation- There are few mistakes, which is wonderful to see. If there are too many it distracts from the storytelling. Keep up the good work.

Overall, I can see this being on the bookshelf of young adults or teens. The growth present in the characters is outlined so well, and they're incredibly relatable and easy for people to like. The writing earns this an 8 out of ten because there's few errors and the character development is on par. If you guys want to check it out and see for yourself, the author is mentioned above!
