BH 16

“Raydance do not pity that man, he was an sinful creature. And my grandbaby is not a murderer. He would of done the same thing, had he thought you wouldn’t stay with him. He should of never messed with the Macbeths.” Sighing she bobbed her head a little, as if she was agreeing.
“Gram, I have to go. They’ll be here any minute.”
“Raydance, take a deep breath. Remember what I taught you.”
“I understand” Then the call ended.

Training what training?…..

A few seconds later two large black Cadillac’s pulled around the back of her car. Her head pushes back, tapping the seat.
    “Show time”

I was parked a ways down from them, using my cars hood as a way to steady the gun. Ron had cleared the park, making sure no one was around. Watching as she opened the door and kept her hands by her sides. The flood of man meat that exited, even made me a little nervous for her. Steadying my hand, as I whipped it on my pants. Looking through the scoop.
A large black man dressed in what I guess, is the standard pimp suit took a step to her. Looking her up and down, before snapping his fingers. A tall younger looking male, was pushed out of an SUV and dropped to the ground.
“MATT” She screamed, looking him over.

“Ray” He chocked, shuffling to his feet.
“Disk girly” Waving his hand at her to hand it over.
“Matt gets in the car first.” Taking a few steps away from the car. Giving her a look, he waved to his men. They pushed the male towards the car, and Ray stepped closer to him. Growling I smelled something fowl with her plan. Matt ran and climbed into the passenger seat. Closing the door and waiting. She sighed slowly pulling out a black disk, and stretching her hand out.
A boy guard snatched it, handing it to his boss. Looking it over he handed it to some nerd with glasses. Slipping the disk into the computer, he started typing away. Looking up from the screen, he smiled.

“Were good” Looking at Ray, who sighed in relief. Slowly she started backing to the car.
“Where do you think your going” He snapped, stepping to her.
“Were good, you got your disk” Looking confused.

Shit I just knew something smelled fishy…….

“Were far from good” Grinning as he pulled out a gun, shooting her twice in the chest. I think I screamed, as I put one between his eyes. But she was already, on the ground. Coughing up blood and spitting some onto the ground. My body went into over drive, firing at anyone going anywhere near her. Matt crawled over the drivers seat, keeping low and dragging her into the car. Closing the drivers door, the car squealed back tires trying to make a break for it.
One Suv got away trailing after her, leaving my post following them.
“Ron take care of them, I’m going after Ray”
    “Right”

Tossing the ear piece to the floor board, kicking the car over a flower bed. Cutting the wheel hard, as I chased after the suv and my girl. Her car swerved around, trying to loose him. Driving into a dark tunnel, she seemed to almost disappear. The suv driving around trying to locate her. The roar of an engine, caught not only my attention, but the guards as well. She was desperate, as she literally took flight. Her car bouncing back on the pavement, serving around the suv.

Her hand sticking out the car window, flipping them the bird. Peeling away as they again gave chase, her speed increased. Running down all over the place, no real path. Cutting cars off, while still keeping a good hold on the fast machine. Everything turned into a horror movie, in the blink of an eye. Her car started loosing control, spinning around. Watching as it ran into an old building, disappearing from view before a blazing inferno exploded from inside.

Ripping the E-brake as I got out, grabbing my hair the black Suv slowing down before pulling away fast. Fire burning any shred of the mustang and her. Stumbling as I got a better look at the green paint, dripping down the flaming metal. Air sucked from my lungs, as I thought about her.

We lost another one, slipping threw our fingers…..my inner man crying out.

Ron and his men drove up, getting out they started grabbing me. Saying things like.
    “We need to go” And
    “Dalton come on”

Pulling me away someone one drove my car, as I was pushed into a car with Ron. His eyes watched me as I sat silently looking out the window. My body numb with out her, everything gone. Knowing I should of never fall for someone, seeing as I’m once again hurt. A cell phone rang and Ron answered it, nodding he tapped my knee.
“Its for you” Handing it to me. Taking the cell, I could careless at this point.
“Dalton” Her grandmother was speaking soft now. She already knew I failed, here comes the screaming and crying.

“Umm” Grunting as words were pointless.
“Its not your fault. Ray chose this path, you did your best” My eyes pricked, how I wished she’d just scream. Instead I was getting the pity treatment, how I hated pity. The sting of it worse then the aftermath.

“Umm” Handing Ron the cell back. That was it I was so over love and feelings. I should of stuck what I knew best. The car came to a halt as we were now at the airport.
“Sandy has paid for your ticket home” Ron says, concern in his words and face.
“Yea” Getting out pushing my hands into my pockets. What’s the point in going back there? I suppose I should take what does belong to me, since I was planning on moving out. There standing in the large port, was no other then Matt. Feeling the heat of it all, I swung a punch to his face.

“You bastard, she’s dead because of you” Gripping his collar. His feet dangling off the over tracked carpet.
    “Wait…” He chocked.
“Why should I? You’re her man, you should of protected her”
“Man? I’m not her man…I’m her brother” Coughing as I dropped him to the floor. Two security ran over. But Matt told him it was fine.
    “Brother?” Staring down at him.
“Yea, I’m Raydance’s baby brother.” Rubbing his jaw.

Good job asshole, she was protecting her family…..

Grabbing my face with both hands, I screamed to myself. Shaking my head, how stupid could I be. Of course she’s protect her family, why wouldn’t see.
“Hey you okay?” He asked, now standing upright.
“No...far from it” Walking away. I just needed to get away from this horrible place.

The Plane landed, and slowly I walked off. The mustang she had still parked in the garage. Sighing I closed the door, her smell still lingering. That day I moved out of her Grams place, the house was to painful to look at. From the coffee she would make to the mug she sipped from. The bedrooms had been the worst, and I had a hard time just going into mine.

Now two months later and I’m working at a farm, at a town a little further out. Its nothing new, hard labor and little pay. Working for a farmer, or more so his spoiled daughter. She’s beyond annoying, calling my name a dozen times.

~Ray’s POV~

I was doing my best, weaving in and out of traffic. The black trailing behind, his larger size making it that much harder for him.
“Matt I need you to trust me” Looking in the rear view.
“What! Ray what are you talking about?” Holding tight to the door.
“When I tell you to get out, just do it”
    “WHAT? Are you crazy?”
“MATT! Please, I can’t loose you.” Tears started to form, as I took a quick look at my baby brother. With an exasperated breath he nodded. Rocking into the next gear, my baby purred signaling she was all warmed up. Diving into the darkness, grabbed the E- brake sliding the car around I yelled out to Matt.

“Now Matt, Go” The passenger door opened, and my brother dropped out rolling into cardboard. The door hit a beam snapping closed. Watching in the rear view as his dark outline was standing up, watching as I took off once again. Smiling as I felt so much better now, he was safe. Turning my attention to the Chevy, I needed to get them as far away from his as possible. Green rocked out of the dark hole, down shifting as I gave them the finger. Pissing them off further, it would be their down fall.

This is it….I thought, I have planned out all the details to the very last one.

Rolling the window back up, as I hit the streets. Taking all kinds of routes, swerving to much, giving off the impression I was growing dizzy with blood lose. Knowing there was an old abandoned warehouse just a few miles from here. Thanks to Josie and her amazing computer skills, I had decided that was the location I wanted to use for my get away. A few more turns before I was right in front of the warehouse, twisting the wheel so it looked as lost as possible.

The mustang screeched in a crying manor, running right into the building. The car had been wired to have a death switch, giving the driver a 5 second head start. Flipping the bright red switch, before diving out of the car. Rolling with my arms tucked to my chest, the blaze from an almost full gas tank, roared out. Hidden behind an old cargo box, I sat quietly. The black Suv drove by looking everything over, as the car burst into more flames when the nos finally reached its hottest temperature.
More men seemed to show up, as I carefully dipped out. With my cell in my pocket, making a call to gram.
    “Raydance?”

“Yes” Sucking in oxygen like a turtle come up for air.
    “Ohh thank goodness, where’s Matt?”
“I left him in a under ground Garage.”
    “Are you alright?”
“For the most part, I think I dislocated my arm” Chuckling, as the limp body part, swung around like a piece of rope.
    “Where are you, I’ll send….”
“No. As far as New York is concerned the Transporter is dead”

I had decided with my girls to disperse the team. Leaving them plenty of money to last without a job. The house would stay with them, while I moved on. My family would never really be safe, until I was dead. Some new hot shot would hear how I killed two very powerful men, and want me. They’d use my family to get to me, and this would be a never ending fuck circle.
“Your done aren’t you?” She whispered.
“Yea, I’m done” Sighing as I was more then a few miles away from the burning building. Loved that car, it was my heart and soul.

“What will you do now?” She had returned to that sweet old lady everyone knew about.
“Dunno, I haven’t thought that far a head.”
    “Do you need anything?”
“Nah!…..” pausing as I did want to know something.
“How’s Dalton?” Almost to soft for her old ears to pick up…Almost.
“He’s moved out” Nodding I saw that coming, he probably couldn’t stand me.
“Oh” Was all I could manage.

“Raydance I think you two feel the same about each other” This was her polite way of telling me I was stupid for leaving him. It was also away for her to keep talking to me.
“Gram, I know you’ve done something, though I don’t know what I no you had some part in all this” Walking on, as more cops flew past me to the burning building.
“Perhaps I did, but would that change the way you feel about me?” My head titled backwards, ready to laugh. She always had a deeper meaning in her words of divine wisdom.
“No gram I wouldn’t change the way I feel about you”

“Then let me ask you one question” Here it comes, laughing without sound.
“Sure” Listening to my boots taping on the sidewalk.
“If something makes your heart flutter like a hummingbird, why would you set it free?” The tapping stopped, as my hand held the phone pressed firmly to my ear. Knowing we were not talking about a bird, lowering my head looking at a large crack in the ground.
“What….what if it was never meant to be caged in the first place?” Still looking down at the crack, that really seemed to be growing with every second she didn’t answer.

“Perhaps if it was already caged, it was meant for someone to set it free….so they could be free together.” I thought the rain had suddenly caught up to me, until I noticed it was just my dripping tears. Sprinkling over the crack, like confetti on a cupcake. Clearing my face, a ragged breath released some of the pain.

“I gotta go” Clicking the cell closed. Slipping it and my hand into my jacket pocket. Walking a little more, before I walked into a hotel. Dropping my jacket and vest on the bed, heading into the bath. Turning the water on, as I managed to pull off my shirt and bra. Taking hold of my shoulder, releasing all the air in my lungs as I snapped it back into place. Groaning as the pain made my head go dizzy. Wiggling my finger, making sure I didn’t pinch a nerve. With the rest of my clothes on the floor, my body took the water. For a long time I sat on the floor of the hotel shower, just letting the water run carelessly anywhere it pleased.
