Chapter 3
Another thing about him was that he was as straight as a circle. A hidden circle and the person was a male. It made it not easier that this male was the most gorgeous person he had met. But what made this even worse.
The stranger had a Mediterranean vibe to it. His hair was disheveled, jet black, swept to one side as almost as if he just has gotten a walk to the beach. Sea green eyes stared in utter surprise and his eyes were as wide. Then there were the muscles he felt.
This led to him feel his entire face flush deeply. By now the stranger left and apologized profusely. Even pulling back on his feet. He tried to sign but his brain decided to turn himself off so that he couldn't think at all.
"Percy, I think he gets it." Will sounded both amused yet exasperated and his cheeks just flushed deeper.
"It's fine, was my fault. Fates just liked to mess with me. No biggie. I apologize as well." A shy smile was given as he signed, and Will translated now.
"Well this here is Hikaru, he just got here and is my half-brother. Anyway, he is mute, so you won't really get any other response than his sign language." Will explained right after his translation. The sea-green eyes held a surprise as well as sorrow.
"Oh, sorry I didn't know. Well, I gotta go, before Wise girl kills me." He hadn't even the time to ask for the person's name because he dashed away.
"This was Percy Jackson. Pretty much known by anyone and Wise girl is his girlfriend. Annabeth Chase is her name. I just hope that these two don't end up again in a fight." His eyes watched Percy run towards a girl or female more like.
The female locked eyes with him and he could feel himself shrink down. Instantly signing and mouthing a sorry. She seemed to see it and having a soft expression now before the two walked away.
"Well, Annabeth didn't kill you. I expected her to be angry at this but seemed that Percy had explained. You're lucky because she's the daughter of Athena the goddess of wisdom and many more. I would bore your ADHD." A nod was all that was given and the two went their ways. People gave them odd looks and nodded in the direction.
Will seemed to know pretty much everyone and soon they ended up at their final destination. His eyes looked at the target disc. An even bigger urge came, and he jogged over. His gaze went over to the bows and the arrows.
His hand-picked it up without a second hesitation. It felt just right. Next was the arrows and he breathed out.
"I guess you were that excited." His eyes glanced just a moment at Will, but attention shifted instantly back. The arrow was put at the string. His gaze sharpens as he pulled the arrow towards the other direction. His eyes stayed on the target disc.
A bit adjustments he made and then he let go. The arrow moved away with a swoosh sound and ending at the middle of it
"Wow, your...wow..." Will was heard speechless and his gaze stayed there. Once more he picked it out and tried again. Right now, the urge was too big. The next time he managed to do it again.
"The newbie is even better than I am, what the hell." Was what he heard a female say. Attention shifted and he felt nervous now as everyone gaped at him.
The thing was that his mother taught him this skill. Why she never could tell him, even when she had promised this him.
"Well here we have it, you are a natural even more than anyone else, but how? Like this takes months years even. So how?" His expression turned solemn as he signed now.
"My mother had taught me. I started at three. She was planning to tell me when I was older why I would need this."
Will opened his mouth but closed it again. By now he was hugging the bow tightly and looked ready to cry. And he was ready to cry.
"Well, I guess this explains this. Well meet your half-sister Kayla and Kayla meet Hikaru. He can't talk so I will translate his signing." Will gave him a reassuring look, but he was more nervous. As soon as she heard what Will said her awe turned into something soft. She walked up and giving his hair a ruffle. He flinched at the sudden touch.
"Well, he is a natural like us. Even with being mute. I guess I will have to start learning sign language then." The female either didn't' realize his flinch or had realized this but not saying anything about it. Either way, she was kind and she had the same kind aura then Will had. It made him relax now.
"Gotta go, have some things to do. See you today at the campfire." With this, she rushed away, and he was left with Campers still gaping.
"I need to tell this my sunshine. He is my boyfriend." He could not even sign an answer as he was dragged away, letting the bow slip out of his hands in surprise. His brother had a boyfriend and was saying this in front of everyone as if it wasn't anything unusual.
Gods he wished he would have the confidence to get out as gay. They ended up at the Hades Cabin and he wasn't even knocking as marching in. Luckily there seemed to be no one inside but the door got closed and the hand left.
This made him miss the touch and he realized once again how much he missed having someone who was hugging him.
"Ugh, really my annoying sun? What did happen this time?" The male sounded tired, and it was clear that he hadn't slept. This made him concerned because he knew how it was. Night terrors were awful, and his muteness he never woke someone up.
"Come on. Let me introduce someone." Will sounded chipper. And their character couldn't be any different but maybe this was why they fit each other so well.
"Did you have any reason for me to meet the newbie or was it just to irk me?" The teen was around Will's age. Now that he was in front of him, he could feel an aura around him. The kind of aura that made him shiver. One that intimidated him.
(Just in older looking)
"Well, Apollo did say we siblings are four. So Hikaru is our last one. And guess what?" He sounded like a proud big brother and his cheeks felt heat creep up.
"First of all nice to meet you, I am Nico Di Angelo and he is my significant annoyance, but he probably has said this." All he could do was nod.
"Couldn't you say boyfriend my sunshine?" Will whined at this and Nico gave him a sigh.
"Nope, I said it perfectly." Will puffed his cheeks out and he could just stare at the two-bickering people in front of him.
"Anyway, what is that I should guess?" Nico butted in after two minutes in of their argument.
"Oh yeah, my bad Hikaru. Anyway, his skill is better than Kayla and she pretty much is the best of us and to the more concerning news..." The expression changed from proud to more solemn. "I can't find out what his muteness caused. His vocal cords are fine."
Nico instantly put an arm around Will's waist, and he felt a pang of pain at this. It wasn't intentional to make Will feel like this.
"You don't need to worry about this, it started when I was four. Like I said I gave up on doctors giving me hope. I had to live with this almost my entire life." His expression was slightly upset but it was clear that he had given up by now. There was no cure and not even someone who is the half son can find what is wrong, then it was better to give up.
"I am sure that there is a way and when not, Apollo probably has a way to fix this." Will was seen lean into the touch by now and all he could do was a nod.
"Anyway, how about you rest, and I get you when it's dinner time?" All he could do was nod and what he hadn't known that time was that he dinner at Camp would be far away and not any time soon...
