Chapter 2

They walked around 5 more minutes and by now he got more anxious. Meeting new family members was nerve wracking and he had no idea what to feel. Would they be kind? Would they be like the people who bullied him? Hikaru wasn't sure and he tried to calm himself down.

Would they even accept a mute person like him? As well a person who is shy and has Hypoglycemia. But the low blood sugar thing, he would hide. There was just no way that he could tell this anyone. Not when he had been shunned out because of this as well.

He will find out because they were now there. This building was looking bright. Or when the sun shone on it. Then he had to look away as it was blinding. Chiron knocked on the door and around two minutes later a teen walked out or young adult.

The male gave a curious glance first to him than back to Chiron. One thing went through his mind, this person was bright. It was almost too bright, but he couldn't help but have a shy smile and a wave given.

"He was claimed by your father, and I would like you to show himself around camp, but first look at any injuries he has." Chiron explained but he seemed to forget about his muteness. Will looked concerned now and he flinched subconsciously as he felt the stranger come closer.

"Chiron, sir. You forget that I can't talk. How will I communicate with him?" His expression held panic and he was really freaking out now. How will he do this? Not many can understand sign language and there was no way that he could write. People are impatient.

"Ah, so your mute. I did learn this language because as a doctor it is possible that you will need that somewhen."

His head snapped now towards the blond person. He sounded reassuring and he couldn't help but feel a bit calmer.

"Alright, I will leave you two be. Just a warning be careful with sudden movements and loud sounds." Chiron pointed something out that he was making him jumpy. But this was making him surprised that he realized this. Then he was alone now with this stranger.

"I am sure that this is pretty confusing and scary for you. I am Will Solace." The male named Will introduced himself with a friendly smile. Something about this person just made him feel at ease and he smiled slightly now.

"Hikaru Emrys." His hand shook slightly, and this was why he couldn't really do sign other than introduce his name. But was he really the son of Apollo? First of all, he had no confidence, then there is the fact that he was mute, then there was the Hypoglycemia and he just felt that this god had the wrong person.

"You don't need to worry about anything." Will tried to reassure him with this but it was the opposite for him. This made him anxious.

"Okay, how about we take deep breaths in and deep breathes out?" His head shook as he couldn't concentrate on his breathing and he even wheezed. It was silently and that triggered his anxiety. A hand was softly but steady put on his shoulder. A flinch was coming as soon as the touch came. Expecting for something happened, but nothing.

"Alright, follow my lead. Breath in," A breath in sound was heard and he ended up concentrating now entirely on this, "Then slowly breath out." His breath followed subconsciously and soon his breathe steadied and he felt grateful for this person.

Because so far none helped and usually, he was left alone. "Good, now how about you explain what went through your head, to cause this?"

His cheeks flushed deeply about this question and he was feeling like it was silly. "It was just me overthinking about it. It's silly."

"No, it's not silly. You had a panic attack and I would really like to know what caused this." His eyes locked with Will now and he breathed out and starting to sign.

"I feel like Apollo made a mistake. I am mute, can't read and all in all I don't really radiate the aura you have. I feel like I am not belonging here." As soon as he has finished signing this, Will gave him a look that made him feel nervous. A look full of passion.

"How about first we look at what injuries you have and then go to the archery place. We children of Apollo have a natural talent of archery." A nod was all he could give, and his wrist was softly taken. Like before he flinched but soon was feeling the want for a hug.

The last hug he got was four years and a day ago. Which made him really urge to ask for a hug but decided against it. After all it would be weird. Will pushed him softly down on the bed and he felt him probe his body. A few times he winced and silent whines, and as silent whimpers went out. Some parts were really making him have a stinging pain.

"You have some bruises but that should be good with some ambrosia. Do you mind having me look at your throat and inside of it? I just want to see what caused that muteness. Because this is odd. You didn't let any sound out."

"You can try but no doctors found out what caused this." This seemed to make Will open his mouth but closing it again. Until a few seconds later he started to talk.

"Well, that is odd then." A snort was felt coming out of his throat, but no sounds went out and he let out a sigh. Will looked at it and even probed but nothing really seemed out of ordinary. He even saw him look through books but, in the end, he gave him the same answer.

"Really sorry Hikaru. I may have to try and get in contact with father. He is our last resort." A nod was all he could give and a cube of something was put in his hands. He looked puzzled but soon got explained that this should heal his injuries. It was making weary but after many times of reassuring words, he ended up eating it. The injuries slowly felt healed and the lightheaded feeling left with this as well.

The taste was his favorite cake his mother used to make. It was a banana chocolate cake. Tears starting to roll down and he wiped them away. It just was making him miss his mother even more.

"You alright?" The concerned undertone and expression were making him have a warmth he hadn't felt in a while. The last time was with his mother.

"It tasted like my mothers, banana chocolate cake. I miss her." This was all that was needed, because as soon as he signed it, a dam broke and he started cry once more. This time harder.

"I am so sorry." Will sounded sorrowful and this was just making him even cry harder. Silent sobs went through his body. Before he even really registered someone pulled him into a hug. One that was needed since the death of her.

It took him around ten or even more minutes to calm down, but when he done, he gave him a grateful look.

"You still want to go to the archery or do you want to rest?"

Will was really kind and he thought about that answer but giving him a shake before signing.

"I want to try it. I was itching to get around and run. This ADHD is annoying." Will mused at this and he gave him a puzzled look.

"Well there you have it. There wasn't even one demigod who had not ADHD and Dyslexia. Our brain is wired with old Greek and that is why we have issues reading English or pretty much any language other than Greek." That explanation made him blink and he could just nod now at the realization.

"That makes sense." That was he could sign right now. At least he knew he wasn't alone, and it made him feel better.

"Alright, off we go then. I can show you around and then we are going to the archery place at last." They started to walk out, and he felt a bit lighter. Crying was something that he hadn't done yet and this was making him feel way more relaxed as well. But his shyness was still there, but Will made it easier. His presence was just, well he couldn't even explain. Bright and it was just easy to sign to him.

Each explaining was making it easy to understand and god -or gods now- was this easy to for him. His ADHD was thanking Will right now. But just one moment not paying attention was enough for him tripping and there was this one unlucky person running somewhere. This person ended up bumping into him as he fell on the ground. And he got topped by this person. But this wasn't the worst part, his first kiss got taken by this accident.
