MM Industries

Manik was in his cabin staring at his angry mini monster who had not uttered any word to him from the morning. She had come to the office, but it was not the usual lovey-dovey greeting this morning, rather Nandini was doing all the work but not directly talking to Manik. This was the reason for Manik's sadness.

Really now! I thought that she would be fine this morning, but it seems like the temperature is still high, now what to do now to cool my mini monster!  Manik thought

'Tch... Manik you idiot because of this word only she is angry and you are again repeating the same mistake. Now do something to manofy your Jaan!' His conscience mocked 

(What do you have to say guys??? Give manik an idea)

When Manik was engrossed in thinking of ways to manofy his Jaan, she came to him with some files and kept it on his desk with a THUD!!!!This caught his attention and he looked at her.

Nandini- "Sir, can you please have a look at these files and approve it so that I can send it to ArMan CO, I just got a call from them to send in the designs."

Manik snikered hearing 'SIR' from her but then he read the files and went through everything while nandini stood there. 

"Umm... Nandini!?" A puppy-faced Manik spoke, only to get a harsh glare in return. 

"The file... Sir" 

"Can you please stop calling me sir!" Manik exclaimed. 

"Woah! How hypocrate of you Mr Malhotra, you can call me a 'mini monster' and I can't even call you sir!" 

"Nandini! I'm sorry! you are just sooo cute when you get angery, hence I call you my mini monster. Its only out love, meri Jaan." Manik cupped her face and looked into Nandini's eyes making her melt in an instant! 

But she was still holding her bars! she didn't say anything just looked side ways with of course the ever so infamous pout adorning her face. 

"Accha you tell me what should I do to manofy you. I'll do everything I promise!" 

Nandini eyed him suspiciously to know if he was speaking the tuth, after confirming he really is, she smriked and now it was time for Mr Malhotra to look at her girlfriend suspiciously. 

"Pinky promise" 

"umm..." Manik looked at nandini and then at her pinky finger and again at her face as if an IT-ian trying to crack Java question. 

On seeing no escape he linked his pinky finger with hers, silent agreeing to her causing Nandini to beam in happiness!

Malhotra mansion 

Ruhanika was sitting in her room fully engrossed in making something. The entire study table of her's was spread with beads, some chart papers, threads and what not. At the same time she heard a knock on her door, without turning towards the door she dismissed the person saying

"Kaka, main khana nahi khaungi abhi. Aap jaao yahan se mera kaam ho jayega toh main kar lungi. Mujhe abhi kaam hai." 

" Khaana khane ke baad bhi yeh kar sakti ho tum gudiya. Chalo have your food first." Ruhanika turned hearing the voice to see her father standing on the door with a plate in his hand with a knowing smile on his face.

Ruhi- "Daada, aap?? Aap kyun aaye and what is this you know na mujhe abhi kaam hai aur mere se nahi khaya jayega isse kiye bina. You go and have your dinner I will have it afterwards." She told her dad and again got busy in making something. 

Avinash moved inside the room and peeped from her shoulder to see this time what was she making. 

Avinash- "Wow, so this time you are making photo rakhis? Not bad mere bacche!" 

Yes, Ruhi was making personalised rakhi for her brothers. She started making her own rakhi when she was taught in her crafts class back in school. She had made two that time and the happiness she saw on her brothers faces seeing her handmade rakhi was worth watching, since then she silentely promised herself that she will make it everytime. Tomorrow is rakshabandhan and she was not yet done with her rakhi.

Ruhi- "Haan Dadda, kal rakhi hai, and see, I'm not yet done with making rakhis. Last 2 weeks se itna kaam tha na academy mein that I didnt get time. So abhi mere paas khane ka bhi time nahi hai. Aap jaao main pakka khalungi." She showed her cute face to her father to convince him that she will have her food and he should go.

Avinash- "Haan, so you do your work, who is stopping you? I will do my work that is, to make my darling daughter eat. Come on now, all you need to do is open your mouth and keep eating along with doing this." Saying this he forwarded a morsel towards her. Ruhi just shook her head seeing his father's stubbornness but opened her mouth to have the food. 

Ruhi- "Papa, aapko yaad hai kaise every year main, Bhaiyu, aur Maan bhai would go for outing on rakshabandhan. Pura din masti. Iss baar bhi aisa hoga na? Pichle kai salon ki tarha iss saal bhi esa hi hoga kya!?" 

Avinash looked at his daughter not knowing what to say. He remembered how last year they had just vanished from the house early morning in the pretext of work. Ruhi had tied rakhi to them when they came in the afternoon that too after knowing that she was hungry from the morning.

Ruhi- "Aapko yaad hai Dadda, when Maan bhai had surprised us by coming from USA on rakhi. We three had so much fun that time." She got lost into the memory lane.

Flashback 5 years back

Ruhi was sleeping in her room, though it was Rakshabandhan today but she was really not in a mood to getup- reason her "BUSY BROTHERS". Manik was in USA and was suppose to come 2 days back as his MBA was done, but there were some issues with his certificates and he had to stay there for somemore time. The worst part being he had not picked Ruhi's call last night and she was hell upset when her bhaiyu (Arjun) also. He didn't come home last night and was still not home doing god knows what. 

Ruhi- "I'm not gonna talk to any of them. They are so bad, who works on Rakshabndhan. I will not leave this room only today. No eating and no talking to anyone." She was complaining to her teddy bear and still lying on the bed. Both Nyonika and Aavinash had come twice to call her but she didn't budge a little. 

At the same time she heard someone banging her door hard. 

Ruhi-" Kaun hai bahar? Jo bhi hai just leave, main aaj room se bahar hi nahi niklungi." still the sound didn't stop, infact now it seemed like 2 people were banging the door. Ruhanika was hell angry now. As it is she was not in a mood to meet anyone and now these people outside her room were not letting her live in peace. She got up and marched towards the door.

Ruhi- "Abhi batati hoon main, bohot shauk hai na door bang karne ka,I will do BANG BANG ON YOUR HEAD" She pulled a tennis racket and opened the door and was about to hit the person's head when they shouted

"SURPRISE!!!!!!!!... OYEEEEEE HAM HAI"

Her hand was up in the air holding the racket and staring her both brothers in a hands-up position. 

Manik- "Oye zulmi chuhiyaaa, aise koi racket se marta hai kisi ko? Abhi hame lag jaati toh? Subhe Subhe apna asli roop dikha rahi hai." he teased her earning a smack from Arjun on his head, but this time ruhi didn't back answered or cribbed but she just dropped her racket and hugged Manik tightly crying. 

Manik and Arjun panicked seeing their baby sister cry, Manik cocooned her in his arms and kissed her crown lovingly while Arjun was rubbing her back and gestured Manik to get her inside the room. 

Manik- "Oye, kya hua tujhe? Achank gusse se rone mein tera emotional bar kyun drop ho gaya? Ruhi chui, bol na, mujhe dekhke khush nahi hui? Chala jaau wapas?" As soon as she heard him saying the last line she punched him lightly on his chest and nodded her head in negative. 

Arjun- "Rooh, mera baccha, yeh lo, have some water and stop crying. Aaj rakhi hai na aise thodi rote hai." he made her drink water wiping her tears sitting on the floor in front of her. 

Ruhi- "Aap dono bohot gande ho, I will not talk to you both. Maan bhai aap late aaye, mera phone bhi pick nahi kiya aur toh aur Bhaiyu bhi kalse ghar nahi aaye. You know I was waiting for you whole night that atleast you will be there on this day. Jaao, go and do your work I will not talk." saying this she turned her face and sat on the extreme corner of the bed away from both of them. They looked at their baby sister and sighed.

Arjun- "baccha, so sorry but main toh tere Maan bhai ko hi lene gaya tha. We were not suppose to tell you about this to give you a surprise isliye nahi bataya. Dekh ab toh tere dono bhai hai na yahan." He made her understand while both Manik and Arjun went towards the others side of bed. 

Manik- "Big Bro, let it be, iss ruhi chui ko na rone do. Ab yeh rakhi nahi bandhna chahti na hame toh main bhi iske liye jo dancing ballerina shoes and gifts laaya hoon woh nahi dunga. Do you know someone else who dances?" He told Arjun while looking at Ruhi from the corner of his eyes. Her expression was worth watching. She got up on the bed n started jumping on the name of ballerina shoes.

Ruhi- "Ballerina Shoes!!!!!! Are you serious maan bhai? Are wait main gussa nahi hoon. See main 10 min mein aayi neeche. Chalo chalo rakhi bandhni hai. Aap log bhi na time waste karte ho." She jumped from the bed n ran to get freshen up. 

Arjun and Manik saw their crazy sister and laughed. 

That day Ruhi tied rakhi to both of them and like always they had a full day Bro-sis outing. 

FLASHBACK OVER 

Ruhi was remembering their happy moments which made her eyes moist. She really missed her ArMan bros. This time she was praying that nothing goes wrong and she gets her family united again. 

Avinash- "Gudiya, what happened baby? Why these tears?" he was frantic seeing his daughter's tears. 

Ruhi- "Dadda, this time we will have the same type of rakhi an? Now also they are gonna work together. Things will be fine right? I can't see my brothers fighting. Why is this happening with us, hamne kya kiya hai?" While Ruhi was talking to her father she didn't see that there was a person standing on the door watching her. Her tears were stabbing his heart and he promised himself that he will not let her cry tomorrow.

Aakash-Varsha's Room

Aakash and Varsha were in their room having some serious talks. It seemed like there was something that was bothering them.

Varsha- "Aakash tumhe seriously lagta hai that Arjun aur Manik saath kaise kaam kar sakte hai? Agar yeh saath aaye toh phir sab hamare haath se nikal jayega. I'm damn sure koi toh hai jo inke beech ke differences mitane ka koshish kar raha hai..... Aakash... Aakash, are you even listening to me?" Varsha was talking blabbering but it seemed that Aakash was already thinking something. 

Aakash looked at Varsha when she called him for the third time. 

Aakash-" V, dont worry Manik and Arjun mein wapas waisi bonding nahi hogi. We will make sure, afterall ham yahan aaye hi kyun hain? hmm? But we will need someone to keep a keen watch on their moves and at the same time Arjun ko apne paas rakhna hi hoga. He thinks himself to be the most smart person, but in real he is nothing but an emotional fool. Itne saal se usko Nyonika se dur rakha hai hamne, aur phir Manik, we have gained his trust so it won't be a problem. But yes Veer needs to take control over Malhotra Industries for which he needs to gain Avinash's trust. But your darling son is nothing but a waste. He only knows to party and sleep here n there. If I won't have known about his last time's rave party then he would have been in  jail." He got up from his reclining on his arm chair having a drink in his hand n moved towards veer who was making himself a drink. 

Veer-" Dad, just relax nothing will happen and about me being careless then don't forget I'm the one because of whom you got that USA branch of Malhotras. FYI, I was already out of that party before you called me to tell about the raid. Veer Malhotra always have things covered. I'm already in the good books of my dear Chachi (Nyonika) n Arjun." He was smirking enjoying his drink. 

Aakash-" Ohhh really you have things covered? Do you call that almost hitting a lady on the road also being covered!!! I got to know what happened the night before. Its good that, that girl didn't complaint about you otherwise what? Everytime, each n every time you create  problem." Aakash was gonna say more but Varsha stopped him from creating a scene.

Varsha-" Okay its enough, Tomorrow we have rakshabandhan so Veer behave yourself. Don't let Ruhi bring Arjun n manik together. We need to work extra hard to maintain this difference be between them." Aakash n Veer nodded their heads.

Next Day, Rakshabandhan 

Ruhi was preparing the rakhi thali from the morning and checking whether everything was set or not. She had asked the butlers to not make any sweets because she wanted to make it. While she was all ready after making sure everything was done she moved towards the puja room to pray for her brothers. she kept a bowl of kheer infront of the idols and  joint her hands.

Ruhi-" Bhagwaan ji, aaj rakhi par sirf aapse apne bhaiyon ko mangna chahti hoon. Mere dono bhai mujhe aaj lauta dijiye. Kuch aisa kijiye ki woh dono aaj ke din apni fight bhulke iss din ko manaye. Mere bhaiyon ki raksha kariye bhagwaan, unke andar ke ego aur anger se unhe apne hi rishton ko tutne se bachaiye. Please bhagwaanji itni si wish puri kar dijiye meri." She opened her eyes n wiped her tears which came unknowingly while she was praying. Then she got up and turned to go when she saw

Both Manik n Arjun standing on the door all ready in traditional wear. Manik was wearing a blue kurta with golden work on it along with creame colour pajamas. Arjun was also coincidently matching with Manik wearing a blue satin kurta along with white pajamas teamed with dark blue half sleves jacket. Both of them were smiling looking at her first they prayed to the lord and then again looked at therir sister who was smiling seeing her brothers together on Rakshabndhan. 

Manik- "Oye Ruhi chi, ab aise hi statue bani rahegi yaa rakhi bhi bandhegi? See I don't have that much patience to stand the whole day like this in one position like in those typical saas bahu shows where the actors stand on the same place for the entire episode just staring." His words made Ruhi laugh and Arjun smile. 

Arjun looked at Manik who was standing on his left and then at his sister who was smiling whole heartedly. Avinash and Nyonika were standing outside the Mandir smiling in tears seeing their kids like this after so long. It was a miracle for them because after whole 4 years these 2 brothers were standing together smiling and fighting

Ruhi held both their hands and took the thali of rakhi moving towards the hall.

She made them sit on the bigger couch and first moved towards Arjun to tie rakhi. She did his tilak and then showered some flower petals on his head, did his arti and then tied the rakhi which she made for him.

While she was tying him the rakhi Arjun was just looking at her face which had a huge grin on her face and eyes moist. She fed him the kheer she had made and in return he also fed her a spoon. 

Next up was Manik, she did the same with him. After doing the arti when she was about to tie rakhi he started teasing her by constantly moving his hand from one directing to another. Looking at him doing this Ruhi whinned and called- "Bhaiyu dekho na......." 

In a moment Arjun's warning voice was heard- "Manu stop teasing her."  But hearing this Manik got stiff along with Arjun himself. He didn't know what happened but in a reflex he said that line and surprisingly he felt happy inside but then he just moved his head to another direction. 

Ruhi who didn't noticed the aftermath of that moment tied rakhi happily on Manik's wrist smiling. She also fed him a spoon of kheer and so did manik smiling. 

Veer was also being tied a rakhi and he gave her a chocolate box. 

Aakash- "Ruhi baccha, rakhi toh bohot sundar hai. Specially Manik and Arjun ki photo ke saath wali rakhi anything special?" He asked witha fake smile though from inside he was burning, watching the turn of events. While Ruhi just smiled and said

Ruhi- "It is special, exclusively for special brothers. Just like in this rakhi my two handsome brothers are smiling I want you both to keep smiling. Not that fake smile but this one the real smile which brings spark in your eyes and in return brightens up my life." She said staring at her two brothers. It was her special rakhi for her special brothers. They just stared at their rakhi. True this was a special rakhi because true to its meaning it was tied with the love of their sister.

Avinash and Nyonika had a hope in their eyes after seeing today's event, they knew their happy days will be coming soon. They'll again see their children playing, laughing, giggling, fighting with each other. 

She took Manik's hand in hers, silently asking him to get up which he did, she then moved forward to where Arjun was standing. She took Arjun's hand in her another vacant one. 

"Thank you, thank you for not making g this Rakshabandhan like previous four years, thank you for giving me immense happiness today. I don't want anything from you both, I promise I won't demand anything from you ever again, but just this one time, fulfill my wish, give me my brothers back. Please." Her sweet demand just left them mum. They didn't know what to say but today it felt like they were not in their rivalry mode. It was the old ArMan. They just kissed her head from both sides at the same time.

Nyonika who was recording this from the time Ruhi was tieing the rakhi captured this beautiful moment and just smiled with happy tears in her eyes.

Arjun and Manik decided to Ruhi with them to all her favorite places on Jeep. It was their jeep which no one allowed to touch. Earlier they use to have outing in this jeep but after the rift between the brothers it was not used. Arjun was driving and Manik on passengers seat while Ruhanika was at the backseat enjoying standing on the seat. 

Suddenly the song on FM was played

 Phoolon ka taroon ka sabka kehna hai 

Ek hazaron mein meri behna hai

Saari umar humein sang rehna hai x (2)

Phoolon ka taron ka sabka kehna hai

Manik and Arjun looked at Ruhanika who was smiling widely hearing the song. They remembered how every year they use to sing this song together n get rakhi tied by Ruhi.

Jab se meri aankhon se ho gayi tu door
Tab se saare jeevan ke sapne hain choor x (2)

Ruhanika was buying teddy bears, for herself in the toy shop while Manik was thinking that its been so long they came out like this. The smile on Ruhanika's face was making his heart filled with happiness n content. The same was with Arjun. He had forgotten to smile but today it felt like everything was back to normal. In their fight they distant themselves from their loving sister.

Aankhon mein neend na mann mein chaina hai
Ek hazaron mein meri behna hai
Saari umar humein sang rehna hai
Phoolon ka taron ka sabka kehna hai

Yeh na jaana duniya ne tu hai kyon udaas
Teri pyaasi aakhon mein pyar ki hai pyaas

Ruhi saw her brothers getting her fav food. They had made her so happy today. She was so sad yesterday thinking that what will happen. From the past 4 yrs they had ignored themselves and aslo her. It always use to hurt her but today it felt all healed up. They got her fav dishes and made her eat one by one with their own hands. 

Aa mere paas aa keh jo kehna hai
Ek hazaron mein meri behna hai
Saari umar humein sang rehna hai
Phoolon ka taron ka sabka kehna hai....

The entire day was well spent by them. After the whole day outing they saw a sleeping Ruhanika on the back seat hugging her teddy bear she bought just now. The soothing smile on her face made both the brothers content and they thanked the person in their mind, who opened their eyes and made them understand how much pain they were unintensionally giving to their sister.
