Chapter 8 - Confession
Y/n's POV
I cling to Taehyung as the gas begins to clear out. Once I can see again, I let out a scream as I take in the sight in front of me.
"Tae, holy shit omg giant dog we are gonna die!" I yell, shaking as I cling to Taehyung for dear life.
"No no Y/n it's okay, he's my dog," Tae calmly explains while stroking my hair. "What we should be worried about, is them..."
Feeling more comfortable around the dog who tilted his head at me in the cutest way, I look around to see what Tae was talking about. Everyone besides us was lying lifeless on the hard cement. Tae released his grip on me and crawled over to the closest body it grabbed it's wrist, to check for a pulse I assume.
"Are they dead?" I ask with concern lacing my voice, anticipating his answer.
"No, they just appear to be knocked out," he replies and I felt myself release a breath I didn't even know I was holding in.
Tae makes his way back over to me and pulls me into another embrace. Both of us filled with the gratefulness of being unharmed.
"So I'm guessing that liquid you gave me was an antidote," I asked, my voice muffed from my face being stuffed into his shoulder. I felt his head nod against the top of mine before hearing shuffling a few meters away. I looked up and noticed that a few people have started waking up.
"Wow." Tae sighed. "Y/n, I am so sorry." I tilt my head to the side and furrow my eyebrows as I look at him with pure confusion. He saved my life countless times today, what does he possibly have to apologize for? After one more sigh, he continues, "I didn't know that was all the gas would do to humans, just knock them out for a few minutes like that." He looked around at everyone, probably about half the group has woken up by now. Looking back to me again, he says something that made my heart break a little, "If I would have known, I wouldn't have even bothered with the antidote, I wouldn't have stolen your first kiss."
Wait, he wouldn't have kissed me if he didn't have to? oh. That's disappointing. Holding back a tear, in an attempt to lighten the mood I joked "Oh don't worry about it, you weren't that bad haha" I laughed then lightly punched his shoulder.
"No Y/n I'm serious, I know how much your first kiss meant to you," he says while bringing his knees up to hug them to his chest, "and I just feel so guilty. I took your virginity, and now I've taken your first kiss."
So he does remember...
I probably look like an owl right now, my eyes are so wide at what I just heard. I really have no idea what to think about this, I let this information process before coming up with a response. My thought process being something like - But why didn't ever try to talk to me after that night? Why didn't his behaviour towards me change in any way? Why did he make it seem like he had no recollection of what we did? Does he hate me? Was it not good?
That's when something clicked in my mind, he reacted to that night in the exact same way I did, just acting like nothing happened. So, if he reacted the same as me, maybe he feels the same as me... and well, I guess I did say that if I lived through this day, I'd tell him how I felt about him.
Gathering my courage, I prepare my response to make him feel better, and hope that it won't backfire and then I'd be the one who's upset.
I place my hand on the back of his head which was resting on his knees before he felt my touch and slowing lifted it until our eyes met. Here goes nothing...
"Tae I-" Fuck, I stuttered. "I wouldn't have wanted it to be with anyone else."
He stares at me blankly for a few seconds before blinking a few times followed by a smirk.
"Well then, guess you wouldn't mind if we did it again?" He replies cockily.
Woah, never seen this side of Tae before, but it's kinda hot, I admit to myself. But what exactly is he recommending that we do again?
My hand still on the back of his head, I play with his hair in thought, failing to notice that his hand his now also placed on the back of my head, gently pushing me forward. He places his lips delicately on mine, I then begin to kiss back. I feel his tongue glide across my bottom lip, asking for an entrance.
Just as I was about to grant his wishes, I hear, "Get a room", and look up to see Jungkook and his friends looking at us as if they just smelled something awful.
Ugh, little brothers always know how to ruin the fun.
