(Hello fellow Warrior Cats fans. I was recently motivated to write this short story about an apprentice who never gave up, even when she stood in the face of doubt. Enjoy my motivational story.)

Prologue

"Moonkit," a soft voice whispered in my ear, "time to get up. It's your big day!" I flicked my ears and let out a low grumble of annoyance. Even though I was excited to become an apprentice, why couldn't Sunstar have done it later in the day? I slowly rose to my paws, blinking the sleep out of my eyes. I slid out of the dark green lichen covering the entrance to the nursery and was greeted by the warm dawn rays of the sun dancing across my pelt. I noticed the rest of the Clan watching, waiting eagerly for my presence. My mother, Stripefur, nudged me toward the crowd of cats, all attention focused on me. I took my place at the front of the crowd next to a white warrior. Sunstar nodded at me, a smile spread across with face with slight pride and complete happiness for me.

"Moonkit," Sunstar's strong meow sounded out, "you have reached your sixth moon of life, and it is time to dub you an apprentice." I felt a prideful smile paint my face into a picture of excitement and joy. Finally, after a long six moons of complete and utter boredom, I'm finally beginning my future as a warrior!

"Moonkit, your time of waiting is over." He continued. "During your course of training you will be known by the name of Moonpaw. Cloudpelt, you will mentor this bright apprentice. Teach her the ways of our warrior code and how to defend her Clan." As soon as Sunstar stopped the short speech, the other members of the Clan began to chant my name. My new name. It sounded wonderful, and I curled my tail in admiration of it.

Finally, I would become a great warrior that everyone would be proud of.
