Noctis

I am currently finishing packing my clothes and stuff at the apartment. I have decided I am going to have a family reunion to read that book. As I get closer and closer to leaving, I have been having more and more doubts. It has been two weeks since I looked in the Star's Sun Pack's library. I have been contemplating going home for a while. I have graduation today and then I will be leaving for the Royal Pack tonight.

I am wearing a simple black dress. It is strapless and tights around the bust and waist then flows down to just above my knees. I have on stroppy black stiletto heels on as well. I put my phone, lip chap, hair elastic, wallet, and a throwing knife in my purse.

I have decided that if I am never going to see these people again, I should wear what I want despite my battle scars. I curl the ends of my black hair and then walk out of my apartment, locking the door behind me. I make my way to the high school getting many curious and fearful stares as I walked down the streets. I pick up my cap and gown, throwing them on as I walk onto the back field to take my seat. I am up being sat beside River and on the other side of him sits Cali. I am glad I get to sit close to Cali.

"Hey, Noctis. You excited to graduate?" River asks.

I haven't talked to him much since my first day of school. "Yeah, I guess. What about you?"

"Of course. I am so happy to get out of this place."

I nod and Cali asks, "Are you ready?"

I know she isn't asking about graduation. She is asking about me going to reunite with my family. "To be honest, no. I really want to back out, but I know I will regret it."

"You will. Just remember I am a phone call away."

I nod and River is looking at us like we have two heads. He decides it is best if he stays out of it and remains silent. The ceremony drags on and I get my diploma. Would it look terrible if I just left after getting off the stage? Probably. Am I considering it? Definitely. I look at Cali and she pleads for me to wait with her with her eyes. I roll my eyes and sit my in seat once again sending a glare in Cali's direction while she just looks triumphant.

The ceremony ends and everyone stands up, throwing their caps. I begin walking towards the exit, but a hand catches my arm. I turn around to see Mr. Star, the previous Alpha of this pack.

"What can I do for you Alpha?" I ask as nicely as I can.

"I want to apologize for my behaviour when I made my son mate with Brit. It was wrong and I realize that down," he looks down at his feet and sighs. "Brit is going to run this pack into the ground," he states, shaking his head.

"Sorry to hear that," is all I can think of to say.

"I heard you are looking for the Rare Anomalies in the Supernatural World book."

"Yes I am, do you happen to have a copy?"

"No, sorry. Only the Alpha King has it since the information is protected."

"Why?"

"It speaks of powerful beings. If everyone knew about them, they would become endangered."

"More powerful than natural born white wolves?"

"Some, yes. Others are just more rare and have other amazing qualities."

"Like what?" I ask, trying to get the information about the white wolf without asking directly.

"Black wolves."

I sigh, I already know about those. Why can't this just be easier? Why can't the book be allowed in all the packs?

"You know, if you are looking for something specific, I can help," Mr. Star offers.

"Sorry, but I am not willing to share what I am looking for with anyone."

"Okay then. Good luck getting into that pack's territory as a rogue," he chuckles.

"Getting in isn't the problem," I mumble, but he hears.

"What does the mean?"

"I have to go," I tell him and turn away to walk out of the field, towards the front of the school.

"Noctis!"

I turn around to see Cali rushing over towards me. "Hey Cal! I was just about to leave."

"I know, but In case I don't see you again, I want us to have a picture taken together. It will take two seconds," she pleads.

"Fine. Two seconds," I repeat. Cali squeals and grabs my hand while running up to River, Orion and Brit.

"River, take out picture!" Cali insists while shoving her phone in Rivers hands.

He rolls his eyes and points the camera at us. I smile and then I hear two clicks from the phone. Cali rushes over to River and grabs her phone, looking at the pictures.

"Perfect!" She exclaims.

"Orion, take one of all of us," River tells Orion who takes River's phone.

River stands between Cali and I with his arms draped over both of our shoulders. I can tell this bothers Orion, but I don't give a shit. River and I may not be close, but he always seemed like a good guy. I hear two clicks and then I start give Cali a hug.

"Thank you for everything. I will visit before heading back to the military," I tell her.

"You better, or else I am hunting you down in the war zone."

"Like hell you will!" River exclaims.

"You know what I mean," Cali winks.

I nod my head and give a small wave to the others before walking back to my apartment. I change into black jeans with rips at the knees, black combat boots, a light grey hoodie, my black leather jacket, and my baseball cap. I pick up my duffle back and shove my keys in after locking the door.

Once I am far enough into the woods, I start my run. I shift into my white wolf and pick up my duffle bag in my mouth.

Amara? Can you keep an eye out for territory lines? I just want to focus on running and preparing myself.

I continue to run through the forest, feeling the wind rushing through my fur. I let my mind wonder to the possibilities as to why I am suddenly a white wolf. I wish Zane didn't leave, then maybe I could talk with him about this. Loosing Brae was too much though for him to stick around and I understand that.

I am snapped out of my thoughts when I hear snoring. I stop in my tracks and look around. I don't see anyone else. After a minute of searching my surroundings, I shift back to my human form and close my eyes, focusing on my surroundings. I can hear it because it isn't coming from my surroundings, it's coming from in my head.

Amara!

Wha-what happened?

You fell asleep! I though you were keeping watch!

Right, sorry, she yawns.

Are you alright? You don't seem like yourself.

I'm fine, she replies in a tired voice.

I sigh, is this about Orion?

I'm sorry B. It is just taking a toll on me...losing our mate if making it difficult for me to sleep.

That's okay Amara. Can you tell me if we are close to territory lines?

Sure....shit.

What? Are we close?

I mean yes, yes we are. A little too close.

What do yo... I am cut off by a threatening growl.

I turn around and see three wolves growling at me. They are all pack wolves I could take down easily, but I don't need the attention on myself. Let's see if I can get out of this peacefully.

"I'm sorry I am trespassing. Can we talk about this?" I wonder.

The three wolves shift back and the one in the middle speaks, "Who are you and why are you here rogue?"

"I didn't realize I crossed the line, again, I am sorry."

"What's your name?"

"Noctis Kilo. Why?"

The middle guys looks to either side of him at the other two werewolves. All of their faces show shock. The one on the right mindlinks someone while the other two keep a close eye on me.

What's going on?

I have no clue B.

How far are we from the boarder?

Maybe fifteen, twenty feet to the right.

I nod. Once I get an opening, I will just make a run for it. They can't have a hold on me after leaving their grounds unless I killed someone. I hear a twig snap from me and I turn my head to see...Tobias?

"Tobias? What are you doing here?" I ask while walking up to give him a hug. He hugs me back.

"I got accepted into this pack with my family as a warrior. All thanks to you of course."

"Me? What did I do?"

"This is Sergeant Major Jone's pack. He has told everyone here of your bravery. Hell, there is a picture of our platoon in the pack house."

"Why? We just do what everyone else would."

"We have saved more lives in our platoon than anyone in history," Tobias answers.

"Really?"

He nods, "Where are you headed?"

"Home."

"Really? I thought you would never go back."

"Well, it seems they are the only ones who have a book I want to read. I am desperate at this point."

"What are you trying to find?"

I look at the other three werewolves that are still here, looking at me in awe and shock. "Can we talk alone?"

Tobias tells the other three wolves to give them some space and then he brings me to a small clearing. We both sit down in the grass and I start telling him what has happened since I left Xander's house. He was angry at Orion for putting me through what he did, but he was mostly shocked from the fact that I am not a white wolf. He has never heard of such thing happening.

"I didn't even know that was possible," Tobias tells me.

"Me neither! I just want some answers Tobias. I should get going, it was nice to catch up. I will make sure to say goodbye before heading back to the army. Especially since the Sergeant Major is here."

"Be safe and call me if you need anything. If you get into an attack, I will come running."

"Thanks Tobias," I thank him and give him another hug goodbye.

I shift and he looks at me in awe before I grab my bag and run off the territory. I got super lucky this time and I won't next time. I need to be more careful.

I'm awake now, B. I will keep a look out this time. I promise.

It takes us another ten hours to finally reach the outskirts of the pack territory without any other run ins with packs. I shift to human and walk towards the border carefully.

As my foot steps on the pack line, a growl erupts from behind a tree. Damn my sense of smell right now.
