Cali

After my phone call with Noctis I make my way downstairs to the living room to walk with Kathryn. I know what you may be thinking, 'how is she still living in the pack house when she is technically a rogue?' Well, Orion begged and begged until I finally agreed to officially join the pack again. River gave him the silent treatment until I came back. I did live at a friends house for a day though. It was outside of the territory. I see Kathryn sitting on the couch with the previous Alpha, Richard.

"Hey," I greet them.

"Cali, how are you?" Kathryn asks.

"I'm good Luna, thank you. I was wondering if you could ask the Royal Pack for permission for me to enter their territory. I want to read the book Noctis is in search for since she can't get there."

"Of course. I can call Alpha Riggs in a little while. Do you know what she is looking for?"

"Sorry Luna, but I can't tell you. If she wants people to know, she will tell people herself," I respectively say.

"That is very nice of you Cali. I will let you know Alpha Riggs' answer when I hear from him."

"Thanks."

I walk back upstairs to my room and begin packing since I am not taking a no as an answer. I pack a backpack and a duffle bag full of clothes and toilet trees. I take a shower and put on my light blue ripped jeans, booties with a heel and light grey cropped sweater. I dry and straighten my dirty blonde hair and then put on my beanie.

I hear a knock at my door and when I open it, it is Kathryn, "Hey Luna!"

"Cali, I got ahold of Alpha Riggs and he said you are more than welcome to go visit them. If you would like, you can leave today and you will arrive tomorrow morning."

"Thank you!" I exclaim and hug Kathryn.

"You're welcome dear. Have you heard from Noctis? Has she gone back to the military?"

"Um...no she hasn't yet. Right now she is visiting a friend for a while."

"That's good. I think she needs some normal human interaction before heading back to the war. She seems to have PTSD."

I shoot a confused look at Kathryn, "How do you know that?"

Kathryn looks a little guilty, "I may have overheard some of your conversation from the day of the party. I came back up to offer you guys some food and accidentally eavesdropped."

"Luna! She is very private of that stuff. She doesn't want people knowing."

"Don't worry Cali. I won't tell anyone, I swear. I was curious about what happened that night when I found her. She was freaking out for no apparent reason. I understand now."

I sigh, "Please don't tell anyone."

"I won't Cali, now go say goodbye to your brother and I will make some lunch for you."

"Thank you Luna."

She nods and leaves me in my room. I grab my bags and head down to the front door where I drop my bag off. I grab my keys off the hook and shove them in my pocket before heading to the game room. I walk in and find River sitting on the couch with Orion. I am shocked to see that Brit isn't by Orion's side for once.

"Hey Bro," I greet River.

"Cali, what's up?" River wonders without looking away from his video game.

"I just wanted to say goodbye."

River jumps up out of his seat and pulls me into a tight hug. "You are not leaving me again! You better not be thinking of becoming a rogue!"

"No you idiot. I am visiting the Royal Pack for a few days. I was just coming to tell you since I am leaving in a few minutes."

"Why are you visiting the Royal Pack?" Orion questions.

I glare at him, "Because they have a better library than we do and I want to go gather more information."

"Why?" River asks confused.

"Because I want to River. Now let me go," I demand and River reluctantly lets go of me and I start walking up to the kitchen. I guess the boys know they won't change my mind and went back to playing their video games. I roll my eyes. Boys.

"Hi Luna," I greet as I walk into the kitchen.

"Here you go Cali. I packed you some fruit and sandwiches for the drive to the pack house. They want you to enter at the North Boarder."

"Thank you, I really appreciate it."

"Anytime. Safe drive!"

I nod and head to the front door. I put the food in my backpack and carry my bags to my car. I drive away from the pack house and start my journey to a new territory. I always wanted to travel, but River was always cautious and I didn't have enough money to go far. My phone starts ringing and I pick it up.

"Yello?" I say to the car since my phone is hooked up to it.

"Cali?" Noctis' raspy voice comes out.

"Noctis! Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, just a little..." she has a coughing fit and I can hear liquid being spat onto the floor, "roughed up. That's all. Are you coming?"

"Yes, I am on my way now."

"That's awesome, thank you."

"Are you sure you don't just want me to come get you out?"

"Yes, I am sure Cali. I can handle the pain and I get to hurt Grey right back."

"How?"

"It turns out that the silver embedded in me is making me immune to the effects of silver and my blood have silver in it now. I burned Grey's face when I found out."

"Woah. Who's Grey?"

"My father's Beta."

"He won't even believe you?"

"Nope. Oh, funny story. Pa...or should I say Jack came down and Grey asked if he knew me. Jack denied it and then told me through the mindlink that I am dead to him."

I stay silent for a minute in shock, "Why would he say that to you?"

"Since I want to go back to war, he says that he won't wait around for me to die and from now on I am not his granddaughter." Noctis coughs again.

"That bastard."

"Right?"

"I should be there tomorrow morning and then I will read the book before finding out how to bail you out."

"Thanks Cali, I appreciate it. I am going to give you Tobias' phone number incase if things get messy, okay?"

"Okay."

She gives me a phone number which I write on a piece of paper with one hand while keeping the other hand on the wheel. She says she has to go and then hangs up. I continue my drive in silence.

After a few hours I grow tired and I pull into a motel parking lot. After checking in, I fall onto the bed and fall asleep almost instantly.

The Next Morning

I am almost to the North boarder of the Royal Pack territory. As I approach, a man comes up to my window and taps on it. I roll down my window.

"Who are you and why are you here?" The man asks.

"I'm Cali Jone from the Star's Sun Pack. I got permission to come visit for a couple days."

"Ah, yes, go ahead. If you follow this road it will take you right to the pack house."

"Thank you....um," I say, not knowing his name.

"Pat."

Oh, so this is the son of a bitch. I nod and roll up my window before driving to the pack house. When it comes into view, it looks more like a castle. It is huge! I park and head up to the front door, knocking twice. A big guy opens the door that radiates power. He must be Alpha Riggs, Noctis' dad.

"Hello Alpha Riggs, I am Cali Jones from the Star's Sun Pack."

"It's nice to meet you, I have heard good things from Kathryn and you can feel free to use out library whenever you would like. I can have my son show you around."

"Thank you Alpha, I really appreciate it."

Soon another guys shows up, he is probably around twenty which means he will take over as Alpha King soon. Luke has a girl hanging off his arm which isn't shocking.

"Luke, Kim, this is Cali. I want you both to show her around and take her to her room."

"Okay Dad," Luke replies. Once Alpha Riggs leaves, Luke expression turns cold, "You can go show yourself around. I'm not wasting my time on you," Luke says with disgust and Kim giggles.

They both turn and leave me alone, standing in the front doorway. I don't can that they won't show me around, I expected him to be a douche. The least they could do is show me or tell me where my room is. I sigh and shake my head. I guess it's time to find someone that can take me to a room. I walk to the left and I am brought into a huge living room. I turn around and walk back in the direction I came from and enter a dining hall. I head back to the front door and go straight. I find a kitchen that is the biggest thing I have ever seen. It turns out there is a door that leads to the dining room that I didn't see.

"Hello," I say to one of the ladies at the counter.

She jumps and turns to face me, "Y-yes?"

"I am just wondering if you know someone who can show me to the room I am supposed to be staying in. Luke ditched me."

"O-of course. I-I will g-go get M-Marie," she stutters.

I give her a warm smile, "Thank you."

She nods and rushes out of the room. I wonder why she is so scared of me? Do they mistreat their pack members here? She soon comes back in with another lady who looks laid back and not afraid of anything.

"I heard you need help to find your room," they lady, I am guessing Marie, says.

"Yes, thank you for helping me out," I smile.

She gestures for me to follow her and I do with my backpack on my shoulder and my duffle bag in my hand. She confidently walks up two flights of stairs to the third floor. She walks past a few doors before stopping at one.

"This is where you are staying."

"Thanks Marie. Can I ask you a question?"

"I guess."

"Why did the other woman seem so scared of me?"

"Oh, that. She is afraid because this pack started being quite short with their omegas about a year ago."

"Why the sudden change of heart?"

"The King and Queen's daughter died and they have never been the same since."

"Oh."
