H A R R Y
Like many times before, I wake up with Poppy's limbs entangled with mine and her silky light brown hair sprawled across the dark red pillows. I could never get tired of waking up next to such a beautiful sight.
Not wanting to wake her up, I just make my way downstairs to ring Liam, Niall, and Zayn. Surprisingly, they all answer in no time, and the plan is all set out perfectly. We're going to swim, I'll grill and make food, and then we can just have a chat and go inside to watch movies.
Quickly making two omelettes with cheese, onions, and many more veggies, I hum an old Elvis song and think about my teenage years. They were crazy, to say the least. I was a sad, asshole teen with a trust fund and daddy issues. It was fun, the girls were fun, the partying was fun, until I was alone with only myself and my thoughts and realized how lonely and miserable I was.
Thankfully, I always had my three best friends, Zayn, Niall, and Liam. They got in trouble with me, but at the same time would get me out of it. They always have been great lads. I remember our crazy, memorable teenage years. From sneaking out, to smoking weed, and even going on my private plane to Cancun in the middle of the school year, they never made life dull.
They were great, to say the least. But being where I am now is even greater. I'm now happy. I'm great at my job, and get paid very well, I'm grown up and much more mature, and I also have a pretty little teen by my side who always keeps me on my feet. She could never make my life boring.
Smiling to myself at the thought of Poppy, I place the delicious looking omelettes on two separate plates. I never fail to cook amazing food. I should forget about the hotel business and just become a cook.
Laughing at my own thoughts, I shake my head and head upstairs to wake sleeping beauty up. I quietly enter my bedroom, and smile down at her sleeping figure.
"Poppy," I whisper, lightly tapping her shoulder. She slightly stirs, but remains sleeping. I sigh, and shake her a little harder. This time, she groans and her beautiful eyes flutter open.
"Hi," I say, awkwardly standing in front of the bed. She just blinks, and brings her small fists up to her face and rubs her eyes. "I made breakfast, the boys will be here in about an hour."
Poppy nods, and yawns before sleepily making her way down to the kitchen. We both sit down to eat at the wooden breakfast table, and she slightly smiles at me. "You always cook me breakfast."
I raise my eyebrows, taking a drink of my milk. "Do you not like when I cook for you?" I tease her. She just rolls her eyes and takes another bite of her omelette.
"Of course I do, Chef Harry." Poppy looks at me with a smile and I lightly chuckle. We talk about what kind of food I'm going to grill, and what the boys are like while we finish our breakfast. Poppy sure does ask me a lot of questions about them, almost as if.. She's nervous?
But, how could she possibly be nervous? She meets new people all the time. It's not a big deal to meet my friends. They're just laid back lads. I don't think they'd even care if they knew about Poppy and I.
Poppy and I. Weird topic. I'm not sure what we are. I know for sure we aren't dating or anything, but that kiss.. It sure was something special. It felt amazing. Like no other kiss I've ever had.
As I wait for Poppy to finish showering, I can't help but miss her lips on mine. One kiss and I'm already hooked on those plump, soft lips. How sad.
Once Poppy's done with her shower, she walks out of the bathroom with wet hair and a white bikini. The water drips down her collarbones and the valley of her breasts and I gulp harshly. Jesus, why am I feeling this way?
I bite my lip at her appearance, but quickly tear my gaze away once I realize that I've been staring. My cheeks redden, realizing Poppy probably knew damn well she looked hot as hell in that bikini.
I quickly grab my towel and swimming trunks and go into the bathroom without sneaking one last glance at her. To my surprise, she's already looking at me with a smirk. What am I going to do with this child?
Once I step into the shower, the steaming hot water soon relaxes my muscles. I close my eyes at the very relaxing and satisfying feeling. I grab a bottle of body wash and squirt it into a loofah before scrubbing my body. After this, I wash my hair and quickly shave a bit before hopping out and grabbing my towel.
Once I'm done getting ready, I step out of the bathroom and see Poppy laying down on her stomach while looking at her phone.
"Let's go outside now?" I ask, and I notice that the sound of my voice makes her jump slightly. I softly chuckle.
"You scared me you little bitch," Poppy laughs, standing up and shoving me lightly. I just chuckle, leading her down the stairs and to my outdoor pool. It's a big, square shaped pool with lights and water jets.
"Nice," Poppy says, putting one toe in the water before sitting down at the edge. I place the cooking equipment down by the grill and grab my sunglasses.
I take a seat next to Poppy. She looks at me with a smirk and places her hands in her lap. "I had fun last night." She licks her lips, a mischievous look in her sparkling eyes. I can't help stare down at her plump, oh so soft lips. Though I'm tempted to kiss them, I just look back into her darkened eyes with a smirk.
"I'm glad you had fun, I did as well."
Before Poppy could reply, fits of laughter are heard. "Hey! My favorite asshole!" A loud voice booms, startling both Poppy and I.
There stands the three boys, each one of them smiling widely. I look over at the one who just spoke up, Liam. "Hey!" I chuckled, taking all of them in for a quick hug. We all greet each other, and they compliment me on the house. As we catch up, I finally notice there's not three people, there's four. I furrow my eyebrows as I look over to a small, nervous looking brunette. I raise my eyebrows, looking over to the boys.
"Oh, this is my sister, Emily, you remember Emily right Harry?" I look over at the brunette once again and realization finally hits me. Emily, Liam's younger sister. She can't be any older than Poppy. I remember Liam always having to watch her when we were younger. Wow, she sure has grown up.
She's now older. I notice she's about the same size as Poppy, but they look much different. Emily has dark brown eyes and hair, and smaller lips. She's a pretty girl, but nothing compared to Poppy, honestly. Emily and I awkwardly make eye contact, and I break the silence by coughing.
"Hey, Emily, haven't seen you in a while," I say with a friendly smile. She smirks at me with the same look in her eyes that Poppy had earlier. "You haven't forgotten about me, have you?" I joke with a chuckle. To my surprise, Emily smirks.
"No, I haven't," she says, biting her lip. My mouth parts in shock, and I just nervously chuckle before turning to face the other guys. They're conversing among themselves, and I feel completely and utterly shocked and uncomfortable. Before anything can happen, I notice Zayns gaze travel somewhere else.
"Who's that pretty little lady?" I turn to look over where everybody has their gaze, and notice an angry looking Poppy making our way towards us. I look back at Emily, who's face has dropped. Her smirk is gone, and defeat is evident in her eyes. I turn back to Poppy, who's now standing beside me.
"Hi!" She says in a friendly voice, smiling brightly. I can literally feel the boys swooning over her. I roll my eyes, looking away. Of course they're going to find her attractive.
"Hey there, gorgeous," Liam says, sticking his hand out for her to shake. "I'm Liam, who might you be?" Poppy just places her small hand in his and smiles. "Nice to meet you Liam, I'm Poppy, Poppy Winsley."
"Winsley? As in Winsley Designs?" Niall asks, his bright blue eyes shining. His mouth is slightly agape with a smile, and I can already tell he knows exactly who her family is. Who wouldn't? Their clothing line is very popular and well known, a brand bought buy elites and style icons.
"Yes, daughter of Jeffrey and Angela Winsley," Poppy confidently says. The boys all look at her in shock and look to me with proud faces. I just shrug with a sly smile.
"Wow, Harry, why weren't we told about your very gorgeous and famous girlfriend?" Liam asks, looking at me with raised eyebrows. Liam and Niall also do the same. My throat becomes dry, and I quickly gulp nervously. "Well I uh- we-"
"We aren't dating," Poppy finishes. "We're just good friends, aren't we Harry?" I stare into her sparkling eyes, giving her a look before nervously smiling at the boys.
"Yeah we-"
"And who might you be?" Poppy speaks up, I can't tell who she's talking to, until I turn to face a surprised looking Emily. She stands there with a mouth agape and frightened eyes. She looks at me with pleading eyes, but I just look down with a smile. I am not about to mess with a jealous, angry Poppy.
"I'm uh.. I'm Emily, Liam's sister," she squeaks, her cheeks red. I look at Poppy, who's smirking with her arms crossed against her chest. "Lovely."
Before anything else can happen, I break the silence by clapping my hands together and coughing. "So, I'll go get the grill ready, the pool is open and ready to swim in, so feel free to just jump in!" And with that, the boys are cheering and jumping into the pool. I just smile, removing my shirt and throwing is somewhere before starting up the grill.
As I put hamburgers, hot dogs, and steaks on it, I feel a small hand on my shoulder. I look over to my shoulder, to a small, pouting figure. I smile and relax once I realize it's just Poppy. My smile drops once I it's not a happy Poppy. You can basically see the steam coming out of her ears. "Who the hell is Emily and why did you invite her?"
Sighing, I flip a hamburger. "Poppy, I didn't invite her. I swear. Liam did, and why do you care? Why don't you go become friends with her or something?"
Poppy scowls, "Ew, no. And I see the way she looks at you, Harry. If she does it again I'm going to rip her head off."
I chuckle, looking at Poppy with amusement. This girl.. "Poppy, she's not going to try anything. And why do you care, it's not like we're dating."
"I know we're not," Poppy sighs, "but I like you, and I don't like the way she looks at you." Her eyes are soft, and I can't help but feel my heart flutter. It's obvious we have feelings for each other, and last night just proved it.
"I know Poppy, but we gotta take things slow. Besides, if your parents found out, we'd be dead," I say seriously. If they do find out, their trust for me would be gone. And who knows what else could happen.
Poppy just rolls her eyes, stepping closer to me with sparkling eyes. "How are they gonna find out?" She asks, biting her lip, not knowing that she's driving me absolutely crazy. I so badly just want to take her right now and right here, but that's probably not a good idea. At all.
So I just look down at her lips once more before tearing my gaze away. "Poppy, we'll talk about this later." I'm the grown one here, I need to act like it.
Poppy just pouts and quickly gives me a peck on the shoulder before walking away and getting into the pool. Like always, my skin feels like it's on fire after her lips were placed on it. I don't know why.
After finishing up the food, I place everything on a couple plates and head over to the pool where everyone is laughing and having a great time. I smile at the sight and get in, swimming over to Poppy. She looks at me with a smile.
I smile back at her and feel my heart speed up. I turn to look over at Liam. "How's the business?" I ask. Liam just shrugs. "It's okay, life is busy, it sucks being all grown huh?"
I chuckle, nodding. "It sure does." Niall and Zayn swim over to us, as well as Emily. I don't know why Liam brought her, he should've at least told me.
"So Emily, why don't you tell Harry about your job shadowing?" Liam speaks up, and I raise my eyebrows before looking at Poppy in the corner of my eye. Her arms are placed over her chest and her eyes are in slits.
"Well, my school is doing job shadowing, and when I'm older, I want to start up a hotel and I was wondering if I could come job shadow you someday," she says confidently, smiling at me. That smile doesn't look so innocent.
I gulp, feeling all eyes on me. "Well uh I guess that could be arranged." I really hope Poppy won't get angry.
Almost on cue, Poppy swims right beside me, our arms touching. "What can be arranged?"
I lick my dry lips. I open my mouth, but nothing comes out. Before I can say a word, Emily speaks up. "Oh, I just wanted to come visit Harry for a day to job shadow," she smirks, looking right into Poppy's eyes. "And he said it would be arranged."
My heart beats rapidly in my chest as all of the boys turn to look at each other, knowing damn well Emily was digging herself a hole too deep, and Poppy was not going to keep her cool. But Emily just stays there, a smirk on her face. I look over at Poppy, and I can see the anger in her darkened eyes.
"Harry is a very busy man, I'm sure he doesn't have time for some girl to follow him around like a lost puppy," Poppy spits, shooting daggers with her eyes. I try to open my mouth to say something, but Emily beats me to it.
"I'm sure he's used to it, since you're always clung to him like an annoying leech." By now, my jaw is dropped, and I hold no responsibility for what happens next.
I watch Liam and Zayn get out of the pool nervously, not wanting to be involved, but Niall just stays with a shocked face.
"Oh I'm annoying am I?" Poppy laughs, her eyebrows raised. Liam tries to pull Emily away, but she just remains with a determined look. "If I'm so annoying, why does he like it so much when I do this?" My eyebrows furrow, and I'm completely and utterly confused until Poppy looks down at my lips, and wraps her arms around my neck before planting her soft lips on mine. My eyes widen in shock, but once the tingling starts, and she moves her lips against mine, I can't help but groan in pleasure and close my eyes before kissing her back.
"Oh yeah! Get some Harold!" I hear Niall exclaim, before bursting out into fits of laughter. Once I realize what's going on, I remove my hands from Poppy's hips and pull away with reddened cheeks.
I look at a very angry Emily, and then over at the three guys who are looking at Poppy and I in surprise. My heart beats wildly in my chest, and I gulp harshly. Zayn and Liam are just smirking, with raised eyebrows, and Niall is still cheering and goofing around.
"Um I-"
"Well it looks like it's time to eat!" Niall exclaims nervously, laughing a bit before running over to the plate of food. The boys just shrug and join him, as well as a pissed off Emily, leaving Poppy and I alone in the pool.
"Poppy, what the hell was that for?" I groan. Should I be mad? No.. God her lips feel amazing.
"Bitch needs to know her place," Poppy says simply, shrugging before getting out of the pool. She then turns to face me with a smirk. "And don't tell me you didn't like that."
I shake my head, chuckling. "You are such a little brat."
