Chapter 4
Brin was walking to Wolf cabin with everyone else in the cabin including Stacy, the nerd, Julia, the feminist, South, and Andrea, the acapella singer. She was pretty good and had her own YouTube channel, with over 1, 563, 278 subscribers and counting. She had her YouTube play button hanging over her bed but she didn't brag. Every one was dressed as clowns, with the exception that Brin was wearing a pink clown costume, and holding cupcakes in their hands. Julia was prepping everyone to stay strong and not leave until they get what they wanted. Julia knocked on the door. Brin was totally bored and sweating in the costume. She never experienced sweat. Her trainer told her to not sweat, but only glow. She referred to sweating as your body telling you to stop embarrassing yourself, which her classmates did quite a lot. The door was opened by a boy named Teddy. He was pretty muscular but not as muscular as the boy standing behind him, whom Brin and South did not see. Teddy smiled, making his hazel eyes glow beautifully.
"What do you have for us? Cream pie?" Teddy asked.
Julia then explained all of what she wanted at camp. Teddy then stepped back to reveal Ben, the counsellor at wolf cabin.
"South. South Salamanca." South said, hoping to get his attention.
"Brin. Brin Breyer."
"....are both idiots. Now are you gonna agree or not?" Stacy demanded.
Ben nodded, causing Julia to squeal delightfully. They then left happily, well...... At Least Julia was happy. They all plopped on their beds, except Stacy who carefully walked over her wall of books and went back to reading.
"Um, Julia, who was that tall drink of water?" South asked, twirling her hair.
"Ben? He's wolf cabin camp counsellor. He was here since middle school." Julia said, folding her pyjamas to go into her drawer.
A loud bell then sounded, signalling lunch time. Even Stacy came along, bringing her laminated study cards.
A plop sound was made as the lunch lady dropped what they thought was sloppy joe. Brin walked past her, but lunch lady blocked her with her big physique. Large Marge they called her and they didn't call her that for nothing. "Anything else?" Large Marge said.
The rule at Camp Ever Free was to say please and thank you to the lunch ladies. Even newbies at camp were expected to have learned this.
"Oh. I'll have a hot dog with ketchup on the left, mustard on the right, relish down the middle because the mustard and ketchup can't touch and some mayo with hot sauce but hold the hot a sprinkle of black olives because I hate green olives and a cup of Diet Pepsi a slash of pop and a little of lemonade. Oh and what's your wifi password?" Brin said, eager to eat.
After that many witnesses swore they thought the temperature in the room dropped down a few degrees.
"You were supposed to say please and thank you." Julia said through gritted teeth.
Brin was completely confused on what Julia had said. So she just stood there, like if you tried killing a spider but you missed and it stopped moving. It was as if time had just frozen.
Large Marge was livid at this point but since Brin wasn't gonna say something, she rumbled past her back into the kitchen.
Brin was now taking apples from the fruit stand and a bowl of salad. Stacy shoved past her, causing Brin to drop her cup of water but she didn't care. She was this close to an empty table any way so she tiptoed past, careful not to get her shoes dirty. After all, she only had ten pairs with her at camp. She soon saw her empty table filled with popular kids from all different kinds of cabins like wolf, weasel, Even everyone ftom beaver cabin. Even Ben and his cute dimples were there, laughing about an instance Andrea had with two twins she was signing posters for at a restaurant. Brin then made her way towards the popular table. She had no idea how someone like Stacy got into the popular table but she didn't wanna risk her chances getting popular at camp and rub it in her sibling's faces. So she flipped her dirty blond locks back, freshly curled by the way, and made her way to the table. Everyone was staring at her as if she had just broken some popularity rule at camp.
Which, she totally did.
