(Ok, this was rushed and pretty sloppy, but I hope you guys like it.)

Mario snuck through the woods, trying to avoid the moonlight. If Hannah, Mitch or anyone who wasn't supposed to be was around, his cover would be blown. Thankfully, he reached the tower and got inside without delay. 

Mario coughed. The thick smoke everywhere was ridiculous. What in the world was this crazy witch up to now? 

"Oh, hi Mario," Kayla said cheerfully when he came out of the trapdoor. "I don't see you around very much."

"What's with the smoke?"

"Oh, I was just mixing up a batch for Mitch. What do you need?"

"I need some herbs. Preferably that are safe for cooking."

Without questioning it, Kayla got on her sliding ladder and pulled a bundle down from the top shelf. She slid down, somehow without riping her dress, and handed it off to Mario. He nodded and started for the trapdoor.

"Uh, Mario."

"What now?"

"I hate to pry, but why cooking herbs? I know for a fact that you don't cook."

Mario tried to convince himself that he wasn't blushing. "Well, uh, i-it's for a meal that someone, uh..."

The witch giggled. "So you're cooking for someone special?"

"Maybe, maybe not."

"Oooooh! Who's the lucky wolf? Relena?"

Despite himself, Mario grinned. "No, not her."

"Then who?"

Mario straightened up. "If you're so desperate to know, then how about a game of 20 questions?" 

"Sold. So, is the werewolf someone I know?"

"Yes."

"Have I helped them before?"

"Briefly, yes."

"Were they part of the Beta Trials?"

"Are they a female?"

"No."

Kayla raised her eyebrows. "Does their name start with B?"

"Yep."

"Do they...treasure hunt?"

Mario nodded. Kayla clasped her hands to her mouth.

"You and him?"

"Yeah. What's wrong with it?"

"Nothing, it's just...I didn't you would be, you know, the type to go for Bryan."

The Alpha wolf shrugged. "Love works in strange ways. You never know you'll fall for or what'll happen. It's certainly a strange thing."

Kayla tried to hide her disappointment with a forced smile. "Well, I'll see you later, I guess."

Mario nodded and left the witch's tower.
