Kakuzu:

"I really hope they didn't scream the entire time back home..." your sister chuckled softly with a sweatdrop "I'm so sorry..."

Your niece and nephew had dragged you across the small village screaming 'Mama we found her'...but you didn't want to upset your elder sister. She was very much how you remembered her...save for a large scar across her face and how big she was...

"I wanted to meet you at the gate...honestly I did...but, I haven't really done much these last 2 months..." she sighed softly "Man, I also really miss seeing my toes..."

"it's alright...you're in a delicate condition." You said quickly "It was jarring to meet your kids so suddenly...but it was much better than you having a mishap on the way there..."

"When I was pregnant for (name) and Toshi, I had it easy...this little one is a bit of a troublemaker already..." she shook her head gently patting her large swollen belly. She then looked up to Kakuzu "I'm Sumiko, (name's) big sister..."

"AND MY MAMA!"

The three of you paused for a moment only to heard a soft 'shhh, they'll hear you'

"OI! I told you two to stay with papa. Where's your father?!" your sister grouched going into mom-mode.

You heard a shriek and the sound of 4 feet booking it away from the door

"we...don't normally have visitors over...Usually just my husband's family" she clarified adjusting her sitting position to something more comfortable

"it's nice to meet you" Kakuzu said with all the politeness that could have ever been in that old ass body of his

"are you two...together...?" she asked slowly

You waited for Kakuzu to answer...but it seems like he was also waiting for you to choose to answer Sumiko...

"ah...I get it" she giggled to herself "too embarrassed to say it to your big sister??" she teased

"no..." you grumbled then shook your head "Kakuzu is my boyfriend. We live together with some friends"

"ah, must be hard not being on your own...I know I had a hard time when Dan's family took my busted ass in..."

Dan must have been her husband's name, you assumed...

"did he find you after your death?" it felt weird to call it her death when she was, in fact, alive before you.

As Kakuzu looked between the two of you, he felt there wasn't a whole lot shared when it came to similarities. You both had similar builds and face structure...but other than that, you two seemed so different. She didn't have your (long/short, curly/straight, h/c) hair or your (e/c) eyes that seemed to beam up at him when you were happy...

Were the two really sisters?

"he did..." she said softly "I would have been dead if he didn't. I was bleeding out...and when he took me home...well I was in the hospital for a very long time." She looked a tad emotional recollecting her memories. "I wanted to go find you so bad...every time I came out of the pain medication I tried to escape." She laughed

"you...you tried to find me?" you asked barely above a whisper

Your big sister just looked up and smiled at you with teary eyes

"of course I did, I even punched a couple doctors, Dan and Dan's father!" she chuckled

Kakuzu sweatdropped...maybe...just maybe you were, in fact, sisters...

"really?!"

"well, yeah...they were keeping me from saving your ass!" she rolled her eyes. "So...I was drugged up most of the time...but when I agreed to not escape immediately...I started having chats with Dan and I told him about you, so much about you little sister...I missed you so bad. It felt like someone had ripped my beating heart from my chest and crushed it right before my eyes. First our clan, our friends, our parents...then you. I couldn't take it. But Dan, Dan was there all the way. He didn't ever leave me alone."

You heard your boyfriend scoff, probably about her metaphor...having so many hearts within his body – he probably knew what it felt like to have one literally ripped out...or at least, that's what you figured he was scoffing at.

You weren't entirely sure, but it was a decent estimate.

"Why didn't you look for me once you got better?" you asked gently scooting a bit closer to your sister

"well, I wanted to...but (name), I wasn't ever trained to handle this world. I don't know how to fight at all..." she began "plus...I don't want to sound like I had no hope in you...but you were such a young girl...I thought that you might have been dead...There were so many dangerous things out there at that time, And we had those sickos chasing us. I thought...if you were alive and I could find you – then so could they. But if I didn't go after you then they would either come after me and think that we were all dead...or they would give up."

"oh please" Kakuzu grouched "you didn't look for her because you had a man fawning over you and you were in a place where you could easily blend in and hide away. You didn't have to run when you were married to someone within a small village that barely shows up as a blip on a map. You stayed because you were safe."

"....how could you say that" Sumiko said disgusted "that's my baby sister. I took her and ran when she was only 4 years old. I was a surrogate mother and an orphan all in one at 12 years old. I moved around and slept on the ground. I did the worst jobs that I have ever heard of just to make sure that she was well fed. I skipped meals, I missed sleep. I sacrificed so much of my life to ensure her safety. I even used a forbidden last resort jutsu from our kekki genkai so that she could escape!"

"but you didn't go find her" Kakuzu pointed out coldly

"kakuzu...please..." you mumbled softly grabbing his hands "Sumiko went through hell and back"

"I think she should've done more, do you not fell the same way?" he asked with a growl in his tone

You paused giving him a concerned look. What was with the attitude

"If you have forgotten...if she had found me, I wouldn't be living with you and the others...Kakuzu, we wouldn't know each other. Isn't the way things went alright, if only for that reason?"

"no. if she's the doting elder sister she believes herself to be then we should have not met. Things should not be what they are now" he said stubbornly

"if she didn't stay and get married then she wouldn't have had those cute kids!" you yelled at him

He seemed to pause for a moment at your outburst

"I did alright on my own, it wasn't great. By no means. I was so desperate. I was so depressed and lonely. I wanted to waste away and disappear! But I was so terrified to die, that everyone I knew would be erased because I was gone! I'm happy you found me that day. I'm happy that Sumiko decided to marry Dan and have a family. I am so flattered beyond words that she named her first child after me. That means so much to me. Not only did she love me that much but she longed for me like I did her, so much that she felt she needed to name her daughter after me."

"(name), it's...its alright...I don't want to start a fight" you heard your sister call out

"no! he can't say bad things about you! You're my big sister and I...I love you so much!" you sobbed out turning into a blubbery mess of tears "I missed you so bad....!!!!" You wailed rushing over to your big sister and collapsing to your knees and clinging to her as you cried your eyes out like a baby

"it's okay...its oookay..." she cooed out softly.

Your elder sister, unknown to you, looked up to glare your boyfriend down but was taken aback when she saw the gentle gaze in his eyes directed at your sobbing form. Confused she cocked her head to the side

"I knew she wanted to cry in your arms...she was just being too stubborn...thank you Sumiko" he bowed his head gently at her

All unknown to your ears deafened by your own cries for your long-lost sister.

Sasori:

He wasn't convinced.

Suuuuure, she said she was your mother.

Sure the two of you had such a touching theatrical embrace...

But just how could she have escaped such a cemented death?

Stabbed and burned???

Yet standing before the two of you???

He didn't buy it.

Although, the very obvious scarring was real...or extremely well done...better than he could do...that is for sure. But all scars were in the corresponding spots that matched the story of her death he was told. Umezuko looked a lot like his dear (name). Same facial structure, same smile, eyes and lips. But there were parts of your face that did not match your mothers...those must have been from your unknown father.

"So, is this your friend?" Umezuko asked as she held her arm out in gesture for you to sit before she, herself, sat at the table within the lighthouse

"no!" you pouted

"no??" she raised what was left of her right brow "then why would he come all this way..." she narrowed her gaze and leaned across to you and 'whispered' "he's not your jailer is he??"

"mama, please..." you whined

"alright, alright" she sighed leaning back in her seat "just don't say you're married"

"we're not..." Sasori spoke up in his usual no-funny-business tone.

"well...maybe one day" you mumbled looking away

Your mother was not expecting to witness the sudden melting of the puppet-master's facial expression from stone cold to warm and fuzzy while he gazed lovingly at your mumbling and embarrassed form before he wrapped his hand onto yours and interlaced fingers

"oh..." she blinked "so you're an item..." she leaned a bit forward onto her elbows "my little minnow...a woman...that fact is so obscure to me." She sighed "it seems like only yesterday that we left this place and started travelling the land"

"Why did you leave?" Sasori asked pointedly

"you like questioning the woman that carried your girlfriend for 9 months and then painstakingly suffered in labour for 21 hours on her own and gave birth to her and raised her entirely on her own" she grouched with a glare

"your choice, not hers nor mine." He grumbled glaring back "I want answers that (name) wants but is far too airheaded or nice to ask. She wants the answers too, she just won't ask because she doesn't want to upset her precious Mama"

"..." your mother sighed through her nose deeply and sat up properly, stretched then leaned against the back of her chair "where to start..."

"it doesn't matter where" Sasori shrugged

"i-if...if its too hard mama, you...you don't have to" you mumbled feeling sheepish and silly bothering her about such details.

She smiled lovingly at you, you were still very much the very sweet little girl she was forced to leave behind...

"There wasn't many of my clan left, when I was your age" she began looking at you, her lovely grown daughter "my clan is originally from here...but there was a massacre when I was a little girl. I was one of the sole survivors. My mother had explained to me...she said 'one day when you have a daughter, you will have to explain this to her as well', I thought she was crazy. I was still young, I had no plans what so ever of ever settling with a man."

She sighed deeply getting comfy. It was going to be a long story

"it wasn't long after that she was killed in that massacre. There was my two siblings and I, and a kid or two from a few of the other families, and one elder. We were all that was left from a large clan. The elder taught us the power within us. But he too was gone before long. The rest of us vowed to separate, we figured being lost into crowds was the best way to hide. We would survive, our clan would survive hidden within the rest."

"so we were doomed all along?" you asked gently

"well...I wouldn't say doomed..." your mother smiled gently as she reached out and caressed your cheek "your cheeks used to be so fluffy like a chipmunk...you grew out of that, I see..."

"please continue" Sasori said trying to steer the conversation back to the answers you and him needed

"right...you're right" she leaned back and ran her fingers through her hair. "I had travelled for a long time on my own. I was trained to be a ninja, although my training was severely cut short thanks to that horrendous night...but I met a man. I fell in love with him...but he wasn't a good individual. He and I parted on terribly bad ways...I'll, uh, spare you the details..." she mumbled softly that last bit to herself "I never saw your father again, and several months later, low and behold I was heavily pregnant with you, my little minnow"

"so you came back here to have me?" you asked with sparkling eyes

"I was born here, so was my mother. As far as I've been told that tradition went back 6 generations. I wasn't going to let anything stop me from doing the same for you"

"you risked returning despite the hazards?" Sasori asked with a raised brow "traditions are important...I agree...but with that much at stake?"

"it was the only thing I could think to do to make my mother happy. I thought it would appease her soul in the beyond. Plus...I had nowhere else to go...this place was the one spot I knew best. If there was an attempt on my life then I knew of so many places I could escape through and hide within." Your mother explained gently "the real danger was only when I was formally birthing her, not during the labour process as a whole"

"I see"

You sat there for a few moments in awe of your mother. You knew she was powerful and strong...but you never thought she was that badass!

"what happened when they found you Mama?" you asked reaching across the table and grabbing her hand

"Well, thankfully, I don't think they knew you were my child. When I was dealing with them, they referred to you as a street rat. It seems they thought you were a child I had picked up along the road and kept with me. So I don't think your life is in any real danger...although...you never know what lengths someone could go to find out the proper information..."

"and about your kekki genkai? Will you not share that with (name) as well?" Your boyfriend asked and upon hearing his words you nodded enthusiastically

"not while you are listening...that is top secret" she growled

"but mama....! Its Sasori...I'd tell him anyways"

"my little minnow...I do not care how much you love a man. It is none of their business. The clan secrets are only for your children and their children after them. Never for someone who could leave..." she said coldly

"I will never be separated from Sasori, that's one thing for sure..." you said seriously

Sasori agreed, but decided to leave the room to let your mother calm down enough to be willing to tell you. If you told him later, well that was not her business...and if you chose not to? He wouldn't bother you either.

Tobi:

Koga was a handful.

He was when you were younger too, so what did you really expect?

The man was only a handful of years older than yourself and kept his black hair in a pony tail on top of his head. His teal eyes reminded you of your father's, as well as his father's eyes – he would be your uncle.

"you've changed a lot...but I could tell it was you, the angle probably did me good since I was so high above you like it was when you were just a little kid." He chuckled as he finally sat down "wow, all these years and you made it out there on your own. Well...maybe not entirely, considering your buddy here"

"I met Tobi only a couple years ago, the rest was all on my own." You nodded softly your wig stashed beside you

"dude, you can take off the mask, I ain't going to tattle on you" Koga said gently. He was a rambunctious and loud man, but he wasn't going to rat anyone you cared about out for nothing

"it's...alright, Tobi keeps a mask on most of the time. Even with just me" you said softly smiling at your cousin

"...have you ever seen his face?" Koga asked worried you were with a man that kept secrets from you

"I've seen his face a couple times...but I don't need to see his face to know how he feels..." you smiled "now, enough bothering Tobi"

"(name)...you're so kind" Tobi blubbered in a tone mixed between his Tobi high pitch and his lower hidden voice.

You merely patted his thigh gently before turning your full attention to your only living relative

"I need answers Koga, Its important"

"...yeah...I suppose its bout time you were told everything." He rubbed his chin "do you think you can handle it all? It's not pretty..."

"I can handle anything. There isn't a single thing that is too much for me to overcome" you said confidently

"you've definitely stopped being a crybaby...that's good." He said seriously and got comfortable leaning onto his crossed legs before looking back to you "let's start with what happened."

"alright"

"I took you and ran. There was someone sneaking around the clan's grounds. I'm not sure how many there were...but there was at least 3 of em. I watched them go into Ganta's house and their screams...I told my father and the two of us snuck into your house to get you guys out."

You nodded along to the information. Ganta was your cousin's best friend and a boy you had grown up close to before you left the village...you had wondered what happened to him before...

"we wanted to warn the rest of the clan...but it was going to be too hard to save you guys and everyone else together. So dad chose you guys over the rest. I mean, I was coming to rescue you regardless!" he laughed heartily.

Your cousin had always been watching out for you, at least when you were little. He always was nearby and took it upon himself to guard you like his was protecting a treasure. Although he was the heir of the clan and not you...

"Anyways...Your brothers were too far away in the house...but thankfully you had snuck into your parents' bed again...else you wouldn't be here now." He looked at Tobi and clarified quickly " the kids' rooms were on the other side of the house because they were so damn rowdy their parents never got any sleep. That's what you get for having 4 boys"

"you have four brothers??" Tobi asked in bewilderment

"had." You corrected sharply

"right...sorry..."

"anywho...Aunt Kasumi wasn't going to listen worth a damn, so she ran to your brothers...Your father tried to stop her, but she was always so quick...I'm not sure if those people were already in your house, but we didn't see her ever again. I assume they got her and your brothers...Your father grabbed you and the four of us snuck out the secret passage. Aunt Kasumi knew the passages better than any of us, so your father was sure she would join us...We waited twenty minutes before we headed out."

He paused frowning

"are you okay?"

"I've dealt with a lot of death Koga, I can live through a story I barely remember" you urged

Although Tobi scooted right next to you so make sure you had his 'security' with the side of his body plastered to your own...

"once we reached the end of the passage, we found a few bodies. There were very few who knew about the tunnels...but that meant the bad guys knew about them too. So our fathers made us promise to stay with one another and never ever leave the other on their own. Your father stayed further in front of us all, in case there was attention to gain. My father stayed further behind to make sure we weren't being followed. But we were...Your father rushed back to grab us, it was too late for my dad at that point...and he threw us off the cliff edge. You screamed the entire way down for him."

"I remember that..." you mumbled sorrowfully.

"those morons thought we hit the rocks at the bottom...but I knew of a cave down there under the waves that went into the cliff, it was a place our dad's used to hang out. So we were able to hide for a while and escape. We travelled around and got entirely new clothes and cut our hair. Hey, I'm really sorry I cut your hair so short...I didn't mean to...you just wouldn't stop squirming and I got mad..."

You rolled your eyes. Of COURSE he was hung up on that still

"I was more concerned about our families than my hair" you said with a head shake

"yeah, well...Still I'm sorry." He grumbled "anyways that day I pulled off that fucked up stupid jutsu? The guy before us looked like one of the ones that attacked the clan that night...He died. I made sure he was dead. But I thought I was going to die...but that guy, Kakashi, he found me out hanging by a thread and dragged my sorry ass back here. Been here since."

"wow...that's almost unbelievable"

"you don't trust me?" he asked confused "I'll show you the scars!"

"no...Koga I know better than to objectively doubt you in a loud manner. I'll keep my suspicions but I'll trust your words." You waved him off

"I suppose there's only one more order of business"

"yeah, I agree"

"so, when you guys getting hitched?!" Koga yelled before getting whacked in the head with your shoe

"KOGA"

"ow...."

"Tobi knows better than to make (name) angry. Koga should know better, you knew her longer" Tobi said promptly looking away from the situation

"alright, alright, I know what you want. Our kekki genkai is..."

Zetsu:

You hadn't thought your aunt would live a normal life, by no means. She was always a tad off the normal beaten path...but you did think she was going to have a family one day. Although...you suppose, a family was a family no matter what it consisted of. I mean, who were you to say anything when you had two men in one?

"here, I hope you don't mind lemonade, I made it last night" Hana said with a sheepish grin

She seemed extremely nervous to see you.

Your aunt had always doted on you before and treated you more like a daughter than a normal niece.

"Thank you Hana, I'm sure it's great" you smiled politely "Aunt Shizuka, how much does Hana know?" you asked softly

"oh don't worry about me, Shizuka did tell me a great deal. The kekki genkai is off limits though. So when you two want to talk about that, I'll be taking boyfriend here out to see the yard while you two catch up on that"

You looked from Hana to Zetsu, whom silently nodded agreeing to the idea

"alright, sounds good"

"alright..." Shizuka sighed settling better in her seat "where to begin the story"

"start where it's easy to talk about and stop where you need to" you encouraged

"well, your mother adored you so much...let me say that now. You really are the carbon copy of her. You look nothing like your father, oddly enough, but it suits you" she smiled gently "my sister was a much quieter lass than you. You fought so much with me about even the littlest things...but you were sweet as sugar any other time. You probably get that from your father."

She hummed at her memories of her now dead family

"There was a hit put out on your mother, she was very very- I mean tremendously, powerful. I was no more than a pale meek shadow in comparison to my baby sister. Yet these horrible people couldn't have had much of a description...they killed any woman in the clan with (h/c) and was older than 13...so many women were murdered that day. And men. Fathers, brothers and lovers alike fought for their family. None were successful. They finally had found your mother and she rushed me to leave with you. Unfortunately they came in as we left...you screamed for her...and that was it. They knew you were her child. I'm not sure if you became a target for sport or because they were told about you from the start. But we were chased by them for years. Those monsters are who I took out with me, although Hana here saved me on the brink of death..."

She reached her hand over and grasped her lover's hand and shared a tender look with her for a short time before turning her attention back to you

"what about you? What happened to you?" she urged

"I was still pretty young...but I was able to hop from village to village working for the night's stay. I ended up bumping into Zetsu years later and he started visiting me in my little hidey hole. Eventually, he ended up taking me with him home and I've been living with him and his friends ever since"

"friends is such a strong word..." his dark half chuckled

"hush..." his lighter half scolded.

His lighter half had been the one talking before then so the deeper voice made the two women jump. But you quickly explained it was just something of his own Kekki Genkai and the tension was dropped immediately

"so strange" you aunt mused with a smile

"not as much as you" you teased

"true" she smiled "alright, now about our family's bloodline power..."
