so while I'm only finding evidence that the war lasts only 2 days...but I feel like the threat of war and the 5 kage summit til the end of the war takes a bit of time. I mean Kurenai isn't showing when Asuma dies and then in a flash of memory during his fight with Asuma, Shikamaru thinks of Kurenai and her baby. Babies takes 9 months on average...sooooo...none of that makes sense in my brain lol

For the purposes of this, I'm saying that whole 'war' (5kage summit and imminent threat til Naruto's birthday and thus the end of the formal war) takes a month -2 months. So, while this is the 'canon reality' I'm using this as a good setting for that time frame between the last chapter and this one.

P.s. I'm thinking that the last bonus chapter (aka the next one) I will upload on the 21st. The first day of Yule, which is my Xmas celebrations :3

Sasori:
During the heat of war, you went into labor and ended up giving birth to your child. Relatively shortly after, the war ended and the ninja began pouring home to the leaf.
You were very anxious awaiting for your friends to return. Nobody had sent you any word so you were worried perhaps someone or none of them were coming back to you.
However eventually the last group returned, and all that were returning had done so.

Still only in the 'mother to a newborn' stage, you were TIRED.

The nurse that checked on you every 5 days, informed you at least a dozen times that although it was a stressful time...stress wasn't good for the baby.

"Please...please stop crying..." you complained softly tying your hair in a bun and slowly dragging yourself out of the tub.

only to hear your baby stop crying all together.

panic flooded your system and tripping over SEVERAL items in your home, you barged into your bedroom, damn near smashing your door off the hinges and just barely hanging onto your towel.

"whoah!"

your eyes immediately met wide dark ones

"w-..."

you were flabbergasted!

"I...was calling you...but then I heard the crying...and uhm..." Yamato's face, bright red, looked back down at your baby in his arms and seemed to have lost words entirely

"Yamato!" you screamed diving at the man who squeaked in surprise and tried to lift your baby out of harms way- your way as you collided into him...

totally forgetting you were only in a towel, which now dropped to the floor with a wet splat

"(n-name)...y-your towel..." his words sounded almost painful as you happily rubbed your cheek against his chest

"I THOUGHT YOU WERENT COMING BACK!" you grinned wildly then peeked around, still forgetting about your abandoned towel "did Tsunade and Kakashi come too?"

"n-no...but...I think th-that was a blessing..." he grumbled

"huh?"

"n-not that I am i...in any WAY upset to see you...but...p-perhaps...you..."

you raised a brow at him confused but shrugged and poked your baby's nose

"whatcha think? turned out pretty cute huh?" you grinned happily

"(n-na-)"

"hey, how'd you get the crying to cease? It's been non stop since-"

"(nam-)"

"-they shot out of my va-"

"(name)!"

you jumped a bit at the sudden loud tone and stared at the wood user with wide eyes
he sighed deeply and turned around, his neck and ears burning like his face

"would you-j-just put something on?! y-you're naked"

you glanced down and screeched diving for your blankets on your nearby bed the screaming of the two of you starting your baby's own up once again as Yamato promptly tried to hush the newborn.

"WHY DidnT You SaY SoMEthinG?!" you wailed...

Deidara:
While Izumo and Kotetsu were with you for a good chunk of time, there was too a time where they had to go to the front lines. Despite shinobi rules, they were pretty dramatic and sobby. It took Genma coming over and dragging the two grown jounin away from you for them to actually start getting in gear. And while you bade them farewell tearfully via hormones, they stopped part way and started shouting

"I'LL KICK THE ASS OUTTA A HUNDRED ENEMIES FOR YOU!"

"what?!" and with a mere moment added "I'LL DO TWO HUNDRED FOR YOU (NAME)!"

you chuckled waving them off a bit less sadly as they bickered over who was going to show off for you better.

but in the end, you spent your time waiting for them sadly. You spent more time with Iruka and other ninja sent to babysit you while the 'important' ninja fought the war.
But the war began to wane...and eventually finished with the Akatsuki defeated.

You went into early labour what you would later know as the day after the war, but you weren't entirely sure what was going on with the war as you were in the process of birthing your child.

However, after a VERY long night and cursing endlessly to Deidara and effectively scaring the shit out of your nurses and the poor shinobi that had to babysit the hospital room was TRAUMATIZED I TELL YOU.

You laid tiredly in the bed resting from the whole ordeal. You were staying for a couple days in the hospital and your brand-new newborn child was resting in a little cot next to you...however you heard snickering.

Unsure what the noise was, you turned and peeked an eye open to see two bodies hovering over your baby...one including a butt aimed at your face in the process.

"h-hey...!" you angrily and tiredly bitched

the bodies turned and your anger immediately washed away and became tears as you looked at your friends.

"Sorry bout that (name)" Kotetsu smiled rubbing his neck, although still half leaned over Izumo and wriggling his finger above your baby's face

"yeah, go back to sleep. We'll be quiet, we swear" Izumo promised holding your little baby

"sneaking up on me...fucking rude..." you sniffled

"ahw..." they echoed each other moving to sit on either side of you

"I-I was scared you wouldn't come back..." you gasped out softly "l-like he didn't"

"hey, we watch each other's back. No way that at least one of us isn't coming home alive." Izumo nodded along as Kotetsu spoke

"he's right, there will always at least be one of us"

"that...doesn't make me feel better...its not good enough without both of you" you huffed rubbing your eyes

the two chuckled seeming a bit embarrassed by your words

"you made a really adorable baby you know" Izumo started

"yeah, what a strong little monster it'll be" Kotetsu grinned helping you sit up and fixing your messy bun for you

"what did you settle naming them?" Izumo asked softly

"well..."

Hidan:
It took a lot of coaxing but you eventually wormed out of Shikamaru, after his visits and him seemingly always seeing this Kurenai sensei so helping you with appointments was 'no real bother'...you found out Hidan had murdered his sensei. In turn that meant he left this Kurenai lady on her own like you were and further along than you. You had asked Shikamaru if you could meet her and after he talked it over with her, the two of you met. She had recently already given birth and had her baby bundled up with her, while you stood before her bowing deeply as you could in apology with your near-end belly.

The two of you chatted for quite some time and in the end, she told you that while she could never forgive Hidan, which was understandable, she would never hold it against you and your child. In fact, she got very excited about your pregnancy and was very into tucking you under her own inexperienced newly mother wing to help you. You both agreed to even playdates once the babies were old enough.

Then came the day you actually had to give birth. It was quite the ordeal and Kurenai and Shikamaru came to support you. Tsunade was finally up and about and with such decided she was delivering your baby with Shizune's help.

There was a lot of screaming and crying, in the end you had a rather difficult birth. No large complications but Tsunade had to bring out Katsuyu to help stabilize you twice during the process.

In the end though, you cuddled your newborn while congrats were in order.

"Regardless of who he was, he's missing out" Tsunade cooed poking your baby on the tip of the nose "this one is quite the cutie~"

"quite the trouble too it seems" Shikamaru sighed "let's hope they take after you more than him, (name)"

you smiled at him, knowing he meant no real insult...although Kurenai gave him a side glance

"regardless, you're their mother...you will be able to shape how they grow. Teach them right and wrong...they'll be good...and perhaps be good friends with Mirai" Kurenai smiled brightly

"I'd love that" you beamed back to her.

who knew you'd become such friends with the people that suffered at your lover's hands?

although...you were not aware of the fact that your lover's killer stood smiling down and cooing gently at your baby right before you either...

Kakuzu:
The war went from bad to worse...but in the end, was brought to a close. With the turmoil put to a stop, ninja began returning home. You waited anxiously for Tsunade and the sand siblings to come back to you, and eventually they all did. Although for the longest time you had to settle for letter correspondences since Gaara was needed in the sand to do his Kazekage duties. A man named Kakashi took over Lady Tsunade's position and had gone over the terms of your staying in the leaf...but then gave you quite the question...

"I understand you were originally found by the current Kazekage and his attendants, right?"

you nodded, sitting in a chair across from him with your hands resting on your enlarged stomach

"and you stay in touch often?"

you nodded again a bit more confused

"what about considering staying in the hidden sand with them...?" he asked suddenly

"I-I...well..." you stammered and looked down with a sigh "I understand I am in no position to nitpick about wherever it is you choose to send me. I was in league with the organization that started the war. However, I feel as of I would be a burden to the Lord Kazekage and his siblings. I don't see them wanting me around and they may be just corresponding with me out of curtesy of Lady Tsunade, knowing of the connection"

it was silent for a moment before a loud-

"what a load of crap!"

"Kankuro!"

"what?! its crap!"

"...I thought we were listening for her response in secret..."

"...oh-whoops"

you whipped your head around almost snapping your neck and saw 3 disguise jutsu undone. Gaara, Temari and Kankuro all seemingly appearing from once thought plants, pots and paperwork piles.

"y-you..."

"sorry about that...they were worried you wouldn't want to go see them...I assured them that wasn't the case, clearly" Kakashi smiled from under his mask "is this sufficient evidence, Lord Kazekage?"

Gaara nodded

"(name), would you like to return to the sand with us? I swear we will ensure the safety of both you and your child."

"yeah, we like you and you should stick around" Temari grinned wrapping an arm around your shoulder and softly bonking her head against yours

"so hurry up and agree so we can pack your things" Kankuro beamed down at you

"I-I...well..." your face burned in embarrassment "y-you mean, you guys actually WANT me there with you?"

"look, the Kazekage mansion? its big and roomie and BORING" Kankuro complained

"we grew up there, we know" Temari added

"but you and the little one move in, and it'll be a lot more fun!" Kankuro finished with the ever-present grin "say yes, (name)!"

you looked at Gaara and locked with sea-green eyes which instantly softened. He nodded slowly with a gentle smile splayed across his lips

"of course, as long as you want to. You are not a prisoner"

your eyes welled up in tears as you agreed hugging Temari and Kankuro as they were right before you. Although the two quickly roped their baby brother into the group hug.

it was some time after, late in the year, when your child was born. The sand siblings dubbing themselves aunt and uncles in the instant they were born and each excitedly sitting with you and getting pictures with the little bean in their arms.

Kakuzu might not have been with you...but you were sure in that moment, you would be happy in this family.

Itachi:
When the war ended, you learned that your dear friend was at the very centre at it all. You stressed out TERRIBLE. You actually stressed out so bad you had nurses checking in on you once a day with a phone call to ensure you kept your stress level low- for the baby.

Although once everyone returned, you were immensely sad to learn Tsunade was in poor health. Although you were one of the first to congratulate Kakashi on his new position, you were very sad about it. A Hokage wouldn't be able to hang out with you like Kakashi was able to do before.

Sitting in your home sulking, you were granted a knock on your door late at night. You ventured forth to find none other than the copy ninja waiting for you to open up.

"what's wrong??" you blinked confused

"nothing" he shrugged softly "may I come in?"

"of course" you snorted rolling your eyes but made way for him and closed the door once he was inside.

you wee promptly scooped up in a hug

"w-whoah" you gasped surprised

"I was just thinking, how as Hokage I won't be able to visit as often as I'd like..."
you nodded and hugged him back, sensing his want for some sort of comfort

"so I wanted to ask if you'd be accepting of a way I can keep visiting you the same as before"

you smiled

"that sounds great...but...I'm not sure how that's going to work..."

"you move into the Hokage estate with me" he smiled back.

you could see easily through his mask the outline of his grin

"isn't that for family of the Hokage though?" you blinked

"I don't have family" he countered immediately "so it's a lot of wasted space on me. Just think about it. We get to hang out the same, and you have a place a bit bigger for your little one to play with"

you huffed playfully at the jounin – er Hokage

"I do believe this is bribery"

"only if its working~" he teased back "didn't Shizune live with Tsunade anyways?"

"that IS a good point. I don't think I've ever seen one without the other in an extended amount of time"

"what do you think...?" he asked again. he seemed very excited

"I thought I had time to think" you teased

"the offer is slowly becoming a limited time offer, depending on how embarrassed I start feeling about this"

you laughed loudly at his 'confession' but ended up agreeing.

Not long after you were settled in the estate with Kakashi. Thankfully there were several bedrooms so you had a room entirely for yourself and your soon to be baby. And even after Kakashi was working his latest nights, you two still hung out the same. Some nights he'd peek in and wake you up enough to let you know he made it home before letting you drift back to sleep - not that you normally remembered the conversation the next morning.

When it was time for you to give birth, Kakashi ended up swearing off his duties for the day and stayed beside you for the entire thing. ever the loyal companion. Thankfully Tsunade and Shizune were able to assist you with the birthing process. And while it wasn't complicated, it did take a bit of time. Poor Kakashi's fingers.

But in the end, you were exhausted and while you drifted off to sleep, Kakashi sat beside you holding your baby protectively promising to keep you both safe.

'its okay Itachi, Kakashi will protect us for you'

Kisame:
The war's end came and went, so did the end of Tsunade's reign as Hokage and the start of Kakashi's reign. The moment the ceremonial things were out of the way, Iruka marched himself up those stairs with intent to tell Kakashi he'd riot if he took him from his mission (namely watching over you) instead, Kakashi said that Iruka didn't have to consider it a mission anymore but that if there was help needed to let him know and he'd send it. So Iruka ended up returning to your home quite happy but confused.

And after several long months you were finally in the last stretch of your pregnancy. you refused to find out what you were having, much to Iruka's annoyance and complaint - as he's been wanting to know from day one.

Your birth progress was long. You were stuck in labour for what felt like an eternity, and while nothing terrible happened, you might have broken one of Iruka's fingers from squeezing. And in the end your baby was born quickly, it took longer for your body to get ready than your baby to be born!

You only stayed in the hospital for a few days but left early because of some snide remarks from one of the nurses about your baby. Fortunately, yet unfortunately...they carried some features from their father. And while you saw nothing wrong with it in the least, some staff weren't able to look past it for a moment.

Iruka however...

"who's a good baby~? You are~ yeah you are~" he cooed to your little bundle while you laid on the couch hiding from the sun under a book.

peeking out you could see him happily blowing bubbles on their little tummy and enticing wriggles and almost laughs from the little thing.

"I was half expecting you to cower in fear of the little monste,r you know" you grumbled out tiredly

"you're awake?" he asked briefly before replying to you "I mean, they're not like everyone else, sure...but there are tons of shinobi family in the leaf that have an odd trait or two. Look at the Aburame clan, they host bugs within their bodies. Could you imagine a bunch of bugs crawling out of your baby?"

"NOPE. nope, lalalala~ not listening" you said loudly covering your ears

the chuunin chuckled deeply before patting your shoulder signaling he wasn't saying any more on that

"anyways...this child is no less normal than any of them. You forget, I taught the nine tail jinchuriki" he boasted puffing his chest out proudly

"yeah well, jinchuriki tamer, you got pukey milk on you"

"what?" 

he looked down and whined loudly

"how could you" he pouted to your baby "you're not helping me at all"

your baby only giggled and wriggled in his grasp staring happily at him

"I'm glad you'll be able to fill their void for a father figure" you said sincerely

"...as long as Naruto doesn't decide to get jealous" the brunette pointed out humorously
