"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Evan asked as Jared gave Evan his mask. " I'm positive, look no one will know it's you".

Evan was really nervous. A few weeks ago Jared had told him about a masquerade ball going on downtown and how there were gonna be lots of girls to talk with.

Only Evan didn't want to talk to girls, he would rather see what the guys would think of him. He only agreed because Jared wouldn't stop asking and asking and asking.

They had rented tuxes for the night, Jared's being the normal black and white tux with a white mask, while Evan rented a dark blue one with a blue mask.

Connor Murphy was also going to this masquerade, but he wasn't going cuz he wanted to. His sister was forcing him to go with her because she wasn't allowed to go unless her brother took her.

He didn't want to but Zoey promised to do all of his chores for a month.

Zoey had bought a new white dress and black mask. She went out to get Connor a black tux with a purple mask.

He honestly didn't care much about it, but he had no idea what was gonna happen that night.

Evan and Jared arrived and walked in with the rest of the people who hid their faces. Jared sees a girl with a light pink masks and runs off leaving Evan alone.

Evan walks through the people, the world seemed to sway under his feet. He didn't know what to do.

He leaned on the nearest wall and closed his eyes, he wanted to go home. He was knocked out of his state when someone tapped on his shoulder.

"Hey, you okay?" He looked up at the boy with the bun and purple mask. Evan looked at his shoes and nodded. The stranger grabbed his chin and pulled it up until he was staring into his eyes.

Evan gulped, "Y-Yes," the stranger smiled and moved closer to Evan until he was inches from his. "Would you like to dance?"

Evan was equally nervous and amazed by this stranger. He was cute, from what Evan could see. The stranger took Evan's hand and led him to the dance floor.

They started waltzing, left to right, Evan never took his eyes off of the handsome stranger. They both smiled and leaned in close to each other. 

The world seemed to fade away around them. After what seemed like forever Evan had noticed that most of the people had left for the night. Jared was nowhere to be seen. 

"I have to go", Evan said as he ran outside. He made it to the garden before he felt someone tug on his arm. He turned and saw the stranger, "Look I'm sorry but I can't sta-" his eyes widened as the stranger's lips met his, he eased into it and wrapped his arm's around the stranger's neck. 

The stranger pulled Evan closer by his waist. They parted and the stranger placed his hand on Evan's cheek, "At least give me your number, I don't want to lose you," Evan blushed and pulled out his cellphone. 

After they exchanged numbers, they exchanged one final kiss and Evan ran to the parking lot to find Jared. He found him waiting by the car, "Dude! Where were you?!" 

Evan became a blushing mess, "I-I um," Jared gasped, "Get in the car, you're gonna tell me everything". Evan got into the car and was immediately bombarded by Jared's rather graphic questions.

Zoey ran to the garden and found a boy with a purple mask and a growing blush on his face. "Connor what have you been doing?!" Connor smiled and looked at Zoey, "Thank you for bringing me", he got up and hugged his sister.

Surprised, she pushed him off but smiled at him. "You're telling me everything." They ran to the car and Connor started ranting about the beautiful boy with blue eyes and dirty blonde hair.
