'One mocha latte',  a customer asked as Connor Murphy poured another cup of coffee at a table to the side. He never imagined himself working at a coffee shop, but he enjoyed the calming music and smell of the brews. 

He never cared for the people though, he only put on a smile to get a decent paycheck. There was one person that always stood out to him though. 

"Hansen?" Connor yelled out as a slightly smaller boy shuffled to the pick-up counter. The boy mumbled a small "thank you" and walked away. 

Now Evan has always loved coffee, sweet and creamy. The only problem was that he was lactose intolerant, so he always had to ask for almond milk. He always felt as though he was annoying the staff, including the cute guy that was about his age. 

Connor always wanted to talk to the anxious guy, but he thought he would mess it up and scare him off. He vowed that today he would finally ask the guy if he wanted to hang out after work and grab a cheeseburger. He hadn't figured out all the details yet. 

~Time skip~

Evan wasn't having a good day, he lost his papers for his class, he missed the bus to his community college, and he dropped his phone and cracked the last clean corner of his phone. He walked into the small coffee shop and noticed that only the dreamy boy was at the counter, staring at his phone. 

He walked up with his head down and shaking. Connor looked up and a small blush dusted his cheeks. 

Evan wore a light brown jacket with blue jeans and brown beanie. The hair in his face hid his blue eyes. 

"Hey there," Connor said trying to be nice. A small smile appeared on Evan's face. He asked for his usual latte and Connor turned around and started to get it ready. Evan sat down at the bar like counter and took out a book to read. 

Connor turned to look at Evan and saw that he was smiling while reading his book. "Hey", Evan looked up and saw Connor looking at him. "Whatcha reading?" Evan picked up the book and showed Connor his favorite book Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. Connor smiled even wider, "That's one of my favorite books, I love Baz." Evan smiled, "Simon Snow is my favorite, I can't wait to read the second book". 

They kept talking until Evan's latte was ready. He paid and took a sip, it tasted...different. "Hey, um-", "Connor, my name's Connor". Evan blushed, "Connor, did you guys start serving almond milk?"

Connor scratched the back of his neck, "Well, you always ask for almond milk, so I decided to go and buy it myself for you..." Evan started to tear up. "Are you okay?!" Connor asked Evan as he got closer to him. "Yeah, I'm fine", Evan gave Connor a teary-eyed smile. 

After talking for what seemed like hours, they exchanged numbers and agreed to meet up when Connor wasn't at work. Connor shared his knowledge of making caffeine drinks and Evan always loved tasting his drinks.
