THIRTEEN

"West?"
Bloom sat up on her bed, surprised to see him in her room.

"You're awake."
Zayn said like she didn't just catch him sneaking into her room. He looked so calm like it wasn't his first time.

Bloom stared at him, questioning herself if she was dreaming. She tried to say something but the words won't leave her mouth.

"I came to return this." Zayn showed her the jacket she left in his car like a month ago.

"I thought you used it to clean a mess in your car?" she asked in a low tone.

She thought of the consequences, things might turn ugly if someone sees him. She was already too attached to him to watch him get hurt.

"Yeah, but I had it cleaned." He threw it on the bed and turned around to leave but she grabbed his hand and pulled him to the bed.

"Stay, " Bloom said quietly.

"Bloom, I need to go before the rain gets heavy."
He said tiredly instead Bloom snuggled closer resting her head on his chest.

"You can stay here." She whispered tightening her grip around him. The steady movement of his chest and warm breath mixed with his addictive scent made her wish for more, she liked this new feeling and didn't want it to end.

Zayn was quiet, his thumb absentmindedly caressed her arm drawing lazy circles on her skin. He looked down at her face, she looked so peaceful and beautiful.

"Have you been waiting outside?" she asked, making him look away.

"Yeah." He pulled her closer into his arms and placed his chin on her head, her hot breath fanned his neck.

"Don't go," she whispered and kissed his neck.

Zayn fought the smile tugging at his lips. He stroked her head like a crying toddler. He shouldn't be here, he was risking a lot taking this too far. He just couldn't push her, no matter how hard he tried.

The kiss in his room made him realize he still loved and cared for her even if she remembered nothing about him. He was willing to take every risk to be with her, even if a voice in his head kept telling him to stay far away from her.

"I need to lock the door, Damian can walk in any time." Bloom's voice snapped him back to reality.
She pulled away and ran to the door. He used the opportunity to slip out of the window quietly and quickly.

Bloom locked the door gently and turned around only to find him gone.

"West?" She mumbled staring at where he laid before, she looked around the room but didn't see him.

She went to the window and looked outside, she saw him. He was outside the fence, the rain poured on him in the dark while he looked at her from where he stood.

He waved and turned around, disappearing into the dark. She wanted to scream for him to stop but she knew the consequences. She stared into the darkness as it swallowed him, stealing him from her sight. She sighed and returned to bed.

She turned to the window, staring at the raindrops as they fell out of her sight to the lush green grass till she dozed off.

It was a bright morning when Bloom woke up. She frowned at the sun rays as she opened her eyes. She sat up like a zombie and brushed her hair back with her hands.

"You're finally up," a voice came from the window.
She gasped almost jumping off her bed at the voice that didn't belong to Damian. She saw Zayn sitting on her window with his legs swinging to and fro. He was busy with the Rubik's cube in his hand.

"Jeez, you frightened me." She said and tried to even her breathing.

She stood up and stretched her arms. She checked the wall clock, it was past eight.

"How long have you been sitting there?"
She pretended to yawn so she could check the sides of her mouth if she drooled and her morning breath.

"Don't worry you didn't drool or snore in your sleep." He told her. She bit back her smile.

There was a knock on the door that made her freeze.

"Dollface are you awake?"
Damian asked and tried to open the door.

She looked at the door then at Zayn but he still sat there like nothing was going on, he furrowed his eyebrows at her as she stared at him like she wanted to tell him to hide.

"Dollface?" Damian called.

"Yes, I'm up." She said with her heart banging against her chest.

"Why is the door locked?" Damian asked, trying to open it.

"I'm naked." She lied.

"You're what?"

"Naked!" she yelled.

"Okay, I wanted to tell you your dad is waiting for you at the dining."

"Dad is around?" Her heart raced faster.

"Yeah, hurry up."

"Ok, I will be out in a minute."
She turned to look at Zayn and he was smirking at her.

"Don't give me that look," she said in a hushed tone.

"What are you doing here so early?" Bloom asked in a low tone.

Zayn jumped down from the window and walked toward her. She gave him a confused look as he drew closer, his hand snaked around her waist with a small smile on his lips.

"I wanted to make up for last night," he took her by surprise when he leaned down to her face and took her lips in a slow kiss.

He pulled her body closer as she returned his kiss, it was slow and not aggressive like the last time. It sent tingles to every part of her body and the butterflies in her stomach multiplied.

"Bloom?"
Damian knocked, she pulled away quickly from the kiss.

"Coming!" She yelled a bit breathless.

"Are you okay in there?"
She cleared her throat before replying.

"Yeah."
She turned to look at him and they both laughed in a low tone.

"I have to go my dad is waiting."
She tried to pull away from his grip but he pressed her body to his and kissed her lips again.

She couldn't stop herself from kissing him back, his hand caressed her bare skin beneath her shirt. He drew her lower lip between his teeth. She withdrew when it was becoming intense.

"Sorry we can't do this now, I have to go before Damian finds out something is going on in here."
She said all flustered.

"Okay," He let go of her. She smiled and adjusted her shirt.

"Keep this with you." He gave her the Rubik's cube.

"I'm not a genius like you, I will probably take years to get it."

"I know."
Zayn said, making her glare at him.

"It's a good distraction if you wanna get your mind off something." He told her.

"Okay, I guess I will need it."

"I'm leaving," he said and pressed his lips to her forehead.

"Are you coming tonight?" she asked when he pulled away.

"No." He replied not looking back as he walked to the window.

Bloom looked at herself in the mirror before walking to the door. Damian looked suspicious when she opened the door.

"Who were you talking to?"

"No one."
She said sharply and walked past him to the dining.

Zayn joined his friends at their favorite table at the Anti-sam cafeteria after he left the Valley House. He sat next to Liz and stole one fried shrimp from her plate.

"Drop it."
Liz said with a hard stare, he gave her an evil smile and put the shrimp he stole in his mouth

"You owe me 10 bucks," Liz said with a serious expression on her small face.

"Oh my God, look at this picture of BTS at the billboard awards, so cute."
Nicole squealed and showed Liz and Tyra.

"What's with girls and BTS? They are not even hot."
Taylor snorted.

"What did you just say?" Nicole faced him like she was ready to kill him.

"And only one of them speaks good English" Zayn added making the girls gasp.

"You guys are just jelly," Tyra said with an eye roll.

"They are cute," Nicole said with a broad smile.

"And Cool," Tyra added with a wink.

"How is it going with Bloom? I noticed you've been around her lately."
Taylor asked, changing the topic.

"Really?" Liz asked with a mouthful of fries.

"Kind of," Zayn replied.

Nicole and Liz exchanged surprised glances and smiled at him, waiting for more details.

"Have you kissed?" Nicole asked.

"Obviously," Taylor said leaning back on his seat and sipping his beer.

"No way, why didn't you tell us?" Nicole sat up in her seat.

"You really think I will discuss that with you girls?" Zayn sneered.

"I find that offensive," Liz said with a frown.

"Okay," Zayn said with no care and looked across the large room.

"You're an ass sometimes," Nicole told him.

"I know," Zayn smirked.

"Is not everything we discuss with you girls, some things are just between us."
Taylor backed him up tapping his back in support.

"You guys are so annoying," Nicole said.

"Is not everything you tell us," Taylor said winking at Nicole instead she rolled her eyes in return.

"Are you interested in girl talks?"Liz asked.

"Hell no, I'm good." Taylor waved it off.

"See," Liz pointed out.

"Does she remember?"
Tyra asked changing the atmosphere around them.

Nicole sent her a glare but Tyra rolled her eyes and focused on Zayn.

"No, " Zayn replied not looking at her.

"You have nothing to worry about, now that you're both bonding, I'm sure she'll remember everything."
Nicole said quickly before Tyra could utter another word.

"Yeah," Liz agreed.

"We are not bonding, we are still strangers. We are taking it slow and see where it takes us."
Zayn explained.

"You're waiting till she remembers? You're not gonna tell her?" Tyra asked leaning on the table. He took a swig from Taylor's beer and nodded.

"At least you're being nice, that's a good start," Nicole mumbled.

"She calls him West," Taylor said and laughed.

"You didn't tell her your real name?" Nicole asked.

"I'm not going to, neither will any of you, I want her to remember." He warned his friends.

An announcement came from the speakers installed at every corner of the building.

"All team leaders are needed at the training ground."

"That's my call, catch you, folks, later."
Zayn said and stood up from his seat. He stole the last shrimp on Liz's plate before walking away.

"50 bucks Zayn!" Liz yelled.

Bloom was super exhausted after her Judo class. She took a quick shower and told Damian she was skipping dinner.
She slumped on the bed and went to sleep. She didn't know what time it was when she felt someone on her bed, she inhaled the familiar scent.

"You came."
She whispered sleepily and opened her eyes.

She turned around with a lazy smile and found him sitting on the bed with his head resting on her headboard, he was holding her drawing pad.

She sat up and drew closer to him to see the drawing he was looking at intently.
It was the sunflower she drew from the second time they met.

"I...I...well...I just drew it since you are so in love with sunflowers." She mumbled.

Zayn put the drawing pad away and turned his head to the side to look at her.

"Are you okay?"
She asked a bit confused with the look on his face.

He looked away with a small smile. She drew closer and held his left arm resting her head on his shoulder.
They sat in silence for a while, staring at the drawing together.

"Where is your pen?" Zayn asked.

"Right there."
She pointed at her nightstand.

He grabbed her pen and scribbled some words next to the sunflower sketch.

She smiled trying to control the redness on her cheeks and the overwhelming feeling building up in her body as she read each word he wrote.

You are somebody's perfect.

"Awww, really?" she looked up at his face with a smile. "I wonder who that somebody is?" she whispered but he didn't say anything.

Something struck her and she sat upright in a flash.

"The door, I need to...."

"It's locked," Zayn told her when she was about to get off the bed.

"Nice kitchen by the way."
He said still writing.

"You went to the kitchen?" She asked with a horrified look on her face.

He nodded like it was a normal thing to do.

"Oh my God."
She gasped already panicking.

"Relax no one was outside and I was thirsty."

"What if someone..."

"No one saw me, okay?"
He cut in with a playful smile, he dropped the book and gestured for her to come closer to where she was before. She took a glance at the door and moved closer.

"It's past two," He told her putting his arms around her. "Go back to sleep if you want."

"So you'll run away again? No."

"I will be right here," he whispered.

"Well, I'm not feeling sleepy yet. You could sing me a nice song."

"Hell no," he said with a groan.

"Can I see your tattoos?" She asked sheepishly.

"Okay." He sat up and took his white shirt off, their eyes met for a brief moment before she raked every tattoo with her eyes.
His eyes followed her every movement.

"It's beautiful," She whispered tracing the one on his right shoulder with her fingertips.

"Which was your first?" She asked.

"I'm not talking about that, " Zayn told her.
She didn't question him, something about his tone told her not to push further.

"Awww this one is so cute."
She smiled at the wings inked around his left ribs.

She leaned down and placed a soft kiss on it, she heard him suck in a breath.
She looked up at him and he was staring at her with a darker shade of brown in his eyes.

She leaned back to the tattoo and kissed her way up till she was inches away from his face. She moved to his lap and leaned closer slowly like she was asking for his permission to kiss him. He closed the space between them and kissed her lips. She gasped softly moving her hand to his neck. He leaned back on the bed and she laid on him, following every movement of his lips.

The feeling was magical. She never thought she would feel this way about anyone, it was scary the way she was falling deeply for him every day. His kisses had a way of melting every part of her, it was incredible the way he made her feel.

His fingers ran through her hair while the other held her waist, squeezing soothingly on her skin.

He moved quickly switching their positions, she giggled as some of her hair almost got stuck to his nose ring.
He smiled against her lips and withdrew, he placed a kiss on her forehead and laid next to her.

"You should go back to sleep." He whispered.

"You're not gonna leave right?" She inquired.

"I'm right here." He told her.

She snuggled closer and put her arms around him placing her head on his chest. She only wanted to rest her head on his chest and listen to his heartbeat until she dozed off.

"Goodnight."
She said placing a kiss on his chest.

"Goodnight," he whispered. Zayn turned off the lights and stared at the ceiling in the darkroom.

He looked down at her and moved the hair covering her face behind her ear and put one arm around her.
He closed his eyes and tried to catch some sleep.

When Bloom woke up, he was gone. She sat up on the bed and looked around the room, she saw his camo jacket on her couch. There was a knock on the door, she ran and grabbed the jacket then took it to her closet to hide it.

"Dollface, are you naked again?" Damian asked.

"No." She said opening the door.

"Hi," she said stepping out.
He looked into her room like he was searching for someone.

"What are you looking for?" She asked nervously.

"I heard voices last night."

Her heartbeat paused.

"Okay?" She tried to relax and not give away any emotion.

"From your room," Damian added.

"I was watching a movie."

"Without me?" he raised one eyebrow.

"I'm a grown woman, Damie."

"Why are you locking your room all of a sudden?" He asked folding his arms.

"As I said, I'm a grown woman."

"I need to be sure you're okay."

"I'm fine, you don't have to know everything going on in my life."

"Right, your dad is waiting at the dining." He sounded hurt, he turned and walked away.

"Thank you."
She mumbled with relief.

She took a glance at her room before closing it and leaving for the dining.

"Hi, daddy."
She kissed his cheek from behind and took the seat in front of him.

"How is my princess?" The president asked with a smile.

"Good as always."
Her phone beeped immediately after she finished speaking.

She opened it expecting a text from Laura but it was from Zayn.
Her eyes almost popped out from shock, she tried to act natural since her dad was right in front of her.

Sorry, something came up and I had to leave. I will stop by tonight.

She smiled and quickly sent a reply.

"Is it Laura?" Her Dad asked staring at her, she put her phone away.

"Yeah, she says hi," she lied.

"Tell her I say hi too."
She nodded with a smile.

She waited for Zayn to text back but he didn't, she picked her cutlery and started eating.

Zayn arrived past midnight in her room, her lights were on and she was sleeping with her phone in her hand.

He removed the phone from her hand and put it on her nightstand, he took off his black chucks and turned off the lights.

He laid beside her, she snuggled closer like she knew it was him. She put her arm around him and nuzzled his neck till she found a comfortable spot.

He stared into the darkness, he should be happy with everything happening between them but it felt like something was missing.
He spent his whole life loving her, he just needed her to remember.

He didn't want to be the only one with those memories, he wanted to share them with her. Those memories made his childhood special even with the tragedy that struck him. Was she ever going to remember or she just forgot about it like it meant nothing?

He closed his eyes and went to sleep.

Bloom woke up alone on the bed, she blinked at the sun rays invading her room.
She searched for her phone to check for the time but her hand touched a folded note. She picked it and sat up.

"Do you know you scratch in your sleep?"

She giggled and dropped the note, she came down from the bed and stretched.

The next couple of days went well, he would text her once a day and spend the night with her and leave before she wakes up. It was a good start for her even if she wanted more than that.

She always felt complete and happy around him, she was in love with his mean side and good side altogether.

It was Wednesday, the third week of their growing relationship, she wasn't really sure they were in a relationship but it felt like it.

She was having a yoga class in the morning, she was meditating when her ringtone blared in the room. Her yoga trainer looked annoyed.

"I told you to put your phone on silent, since when did you get so interested in texts and phone calls?"
Bloom pretended not to hear her and rushed to her phone, a smile crept to her lips.

"Put the phone away, Bloom."
Her yoga trainer instructed.

"Sorry, Tasha, but it's an important call."
She gave her an irresistible smile

"It's always an important call, is it a boy?" Tasha asked as she stretched her legs.

"No," She said quickly.

"You have two minutes," Tasha told her.
Bloom nodded and picked the call.

"Hello."

"Hey," Zayn said tiredly.

"You okay?" She asked leaning on the wall.

"Yeah, I won't be coming tonight and for a couple of days, I will be super busy," he told her.

"Okay, it's fine." She said with a frown.

"Bye then?"

"Bye."
She ended the call with a sad sigh.

She didn't see him for the next two days, it always took him hours before he replies to her texts. She didn't know if she was being paranoid but she felt like something was wrong.

She snuck out on Saturday to check on him at the apartment even if she knew he won't be there. Rosa gave her a warm smile and let her in when she opened the door.

"There she is." Bloom smiled at Mika as she approached her, she gave her a big hug.

"I missed you so much."
Mika giggled and hugged her again, she heard voices from Zayn's room.

She heard a girl giggling and Zayn's voice saying something in return. She turned to look at Rosa.

"Is he home?"

"Yeah, he has been around for two days now."
Rosa told her with a smile, she looked happy.

"Ohh, I will go and say hi."
Bloom stood up and walked toward his room.

She couldn't help the jealousy that clawed through her stomach as she approached the door.
