Annabelle's POV
"Spill it." Maddie came at me the moment we were in the room, does she knows she has guest downstairs.

"I love the new house, it's pretty," I decided to play dumb, with the way she looked at me through the night, I knew Jason did something, he won't keep that mouth shut.

"You know what I mean." She glares at me before standing up to close the door again.

"Okay I slept with him, but it was an accident." I immediately spilled it out, I can't lie she's my best friend and if am going to tell anyone it's going to be her.

"Aww am so happy for you, does this mean you're back together and I'll be attending a wedding soon?" She held a pillow to her chest.

"What eww no, I didn't say that am still dating Chad you know that, and he's also mad at me."

"Why did he catch you too, how crazy was that?" She was being too raw.

"No it happened yesterday night after I saw him at the airport." I hide my face in a pillow only to smuggle all over the leather, they really needed to fully pack.

"You better set things straight, do you really love him?" She had to ask.

"Jason or chad?" I pretended to not know who it was.

"Gurl I will smack you, ain't nobody care about Chad here." She giggle playfully hitting me on the shoulder.

"Let's just get this over with." I manage to say.

"Fine." She added in a high pitch tone, definitely not satisfied before we made it downstairs to meet the guest and have fun.

I kept looking wondering if I was going to see Jason, but guess he left early because I could still see Dan and Alex but not him, that's when a voice came up from behind me.

"Mind if I join you." She smiled at me.

"Sure!" I turned to my drink ignoring her, I didn't want this to be even more weirder than it is.

"I don't know what I did to you Anna seriously, but I really hope we can at least not act like strangers.'' She started a conversation.

"Sophie I get it, you're friends with Jason and you felt you had to pick a side but I only kept my distance because you did." I summon the courage to bring up the elephant all these years.

"Am sorry about that, I just want things to be how they were." She bites her lips awkwardly, she's so nervous.

''Of course, it'll take time but we'll make it work," she catches me off guard by giving me a hug.

"Thank you!" She genuinely wanted to be friends again, I thought she was done with me honestly, she always held herself with pride that was for sure, or is this a sign.

I was back home around six in the evening, we left past five back to our various places and I was with Kelly picking and arranging my looks for the fashion week, as much as I hate to admit it am starting to like her, she's really understanding and I see a friendship in the future, but now it's strictly business.

"This pink pants would be cute but I was thinking this was cuter." I pick up a white baggy pants rather.

Just then the door bell rang, who could it be at this late hour.

"Kelly can you please," I paused when she left, is this me saying please, what is going on with me? Get it together Anna I tell myself.

"You didn't think I'd leave without seeing my favourite," Dan walks up behind Kelly and I immediately rushed to hug him

"I thought you'd be off by now, Alex told me you didn't plan on staying long, if you ask me I'd say you're running away from this state particularly," I teased as we walked to the living room.

"You know I have a very demanding job," he winked at me, of course he did "so how is the most successful woman in business doing?"

"Wonderful if I do say so myself!" I don't know if we could see it, but immediately me and Dan meet we would bond Immediately and I have to thank college for that, that is before he took his transfer after our first year and also went pro, I saw a lot of him that year, and since I quit the twins and the fosters in general, he always had my back. Until he left for Europe that is, we still spoke on the phone but it was mainly me no Jason and I appreciate him for that.

If you think of it, even in high school he was always the easy one to talk to, and definitely not Alex that's for sure, and well Ashley definitely helped our bond too.

"So how's the basketball life, any new girls I should know of?" I asked jokingly.

"Not for this guy, been staying off the dating game now," he looked tensed I knew what this was about.

"You do know she'd want you to at least try, you don't have to be single forever," I manage to say crossing my legs on the couch now.

"I know am just still looking for the right kind of crazy I need." He tried lighten the mood as we both laughed "how about you, Jason and Annabelle still at it I see," and that's when my mood went sour.

"Can we not!" I frowned immediately and I guess he noticed.

"Am sorry I didn't mean it that way," he apologised as soon as the words left my mouth.

"No it's not you, it's just a sour topic for me, how's Europe tell me all about it." I tried to keep things still fun and friendly.

As we talked for the remaining evening, he was leaving tomorrow cause he changed his mind after talking with the guys, apparently they're having a last hangout together before Alex gets locked, his words not mine, sadly he won't be here for the wedding due to the playoffs kicking off, so tonight was the night, so he left early and I was back to my organising.
I still couldn't help but think what Jason was doing at the moment, probably getting ready, or maybe with some chick. Okay what is wrong with me, I shouldn't be thinking of this, I should call Chad yes him, I need to check up anyway. I called the first time he didn't pick maybe he will or maybe not.

'He didn't'

Jason's POV
"Gentleman I called this meeting to tell you that tonight is the night we get fucked," Daniel came at us Immediately, reminds me of the good old times.

"Explain?" Alex asked who was partially drunk already and it was just four in the evening.

"I say we go for it!" I immediately said not knowing what he meant I just needed the bro time, it's been years we actually had time to even talk like this.

"The playoffs are coming soon and it falls during the wedding, so bachelor's night before I leave tomorrow?" He finally said.

"Gawd, I thought you were going to ask me marry you, you looked like you lost your puppy, was that why you looked like that," Al said tipsy as he let a burp.

"Dude!" I let out hardly saying much.

"And can you mufuckers get it together, you're acting like bunch of lost sissies hug it out already?" Al puts his hands around me and Dan.

"Why can't they see we're actually good?" I chuckled at him before he pulled me in for a hug.

We're always good, we're guys we don't hold grudges all we needed was a little time and we'll be back to ourselves.

"Don't I look sexy guys, I should marry myself." Alex blurt out, okay he's definitely drunk we need him to sober up if not he won't even know this night happened.

"He need a minute or two,' I say to Dan as we walked back to the living room, just then I receive a text from Emma, she left.

"We'll come pick you up by eleven!" Dan screams at me before I left.

I wonder if Annabelle's gonna notice I left early, but I didn't trust Emma leaving in between a party with drinks with that Travis.

To my surprise he actually dropped her off and was finally going, I've never been happy in my whole life, I'm very overprotective of her that's for sure, but it's because am a guy and I know what we guys do.

"Did you really follow me back?" She turned to me, her heels already in her hands, guess she took them off.

"Let's just go in I'll make you pancakes." I grab her by the shoulders as we walked into our house with the shock of our lives.

"Calm down, we came as fast as we could Emma said you weren't around when it happened." My grandparents were in front of me.

Apparently someone broke into our house, luckily they didn't take anything, they went into my dad's library looking for something but I guess they didn't find it.

We didn't want the police getting involved until we knew what really happened, so Emma called them and here we are now.

"Maybe I shouldn't go again." I start to rethink me travelling or even going out tonight.

"You'll hate yourself if you do, they're your friends, plus I got ma and pa with me," Emma added.

"Yes I can handle everything alright from here." My grandad jumps in.

I just can't believe someone broke into our house upon all the securities we had, could it be personal I really needed to get to the bottom of this.
