The walk to the park was calming. It was even more calming that Phil knew where they were. They were actually about a block away from his apartment complex near a little park that Martyn took Sarah to sometimes. It even had a small pond which Phil really liked. It was getting darker out which meant that not a lot of kids would be at the park so they could have it to themselves. When the park came in to view he took off without Dan and hopped on one of the swings. He beckoned to Dan with his finger who made his way over in a meekly manner. He patted the swing next to him ordering Dan to get on. He shook his head and backed away. Phil gave him a pleading look and patted the swing more aggressively. Dan shook his head again and spoke.
"I don't know how."
It made Phil grin for some reason, Dan was just so adorable, especially when he blushed.
He hopped off the swing to write something in his small notebook. He tore the page out and shoved it on Dan's chest.
Get on the swing I'm teaching you
He rolled his eyes but obliged. Once he was comfortably seated in the swing Phil gave him a little push. Dan gasped a little in surprise and it made Phil lose his breath. He pushed him again, and another time before going back to his own swing. He managed to get Dan's attention by hitting his swing as he passed him. He made the back and forth motion with his legs then pointed at Dan to do the same. He didn't get it at first and Phil could tell he was getting frustrated as his swing slowed down. But when he did get the hang of it, it was one of the cutest sights Phil ever seen. He laughed and kept saying he was doing it. He seemed pretty excited and it made Phil laugh.

After they were finished with the swings (Phil decided Dan had enough when he started quoting Titanic) Dan immediately made his way over to the monkey bars.
"I was great at these as a kid," he boasted. "I used to be able to hang on by my feet, I'm too tall now though."
It surprised Phil how much Dan talked with him, what a shame it was. Maybe if Dan could hear him, Phil would start to talk again.
Since he couldn't hang by his feet anymore, Dan decided it would be a better idea to wrap his knees around one one of the bars to hang. It worked out fine till he flashed Phil when his shirt came down. After that they had enough with the monkey bars and moved in to the pond. It was small, about the size of a kiddie pool. There was this rock in the middle of it though and kids would dare each other to try to make it across without falling in. Phil tried it once, that's the day he learned the water wasn't really that deep. He and Dan messed around for a while, splashing water at each other and quacking at ducks. Then the biggest fucking bird he's ever seen swooped down into the water scaring the crap out of Dan and they decided to get the fuck away. They just sat on bench near the pond writing notes to each other.
Nice scream dan
Shut up
Good think you couldn't hear it you sounded like a women in labor
I hope you get pecked to death by that big ass thing
Lol
Dan laughed while shaking his head. Phil wished he could say something to him but instead he just grabbed his hand. Dan gasped in surprise again and it made Phil's heart soar.

Soon enough it was time for Phil to go home. Dan, of course, made fun of him for having a curfew. Apparently Dan's parents didn't give a fuck what time he showed up at home. They held hands all the way to Phil's apartment complex. It probably would have been slightly romantic if Dan had any idea where he was going. It terrified him that Dan couldn't hear anything. If a murderer were to break into his house and kill his family Dan would be in his room on his laptop or some shit. Not to mention he couldn't hear cars coming. It made Phil want to scream. Other then that they had quite a nice time at the park, Dan learned how to swing, Phil was flashed, and they got scared of a big ass bird. It wasn't the perfect day but that was okay, Dan was there so it was okay.

Dan yelled good bye as he ran all the way down three flights of stairs. Those stairs were the only thing keeping Phil in shape it seemed like. He used to skateboard as a kid but those skater-boy dreamed died right along with Phil's love for activeness. He greeted Sarah with a hug as she began to tell him about her day.
"Ryan's a brat, he cried when Miss Maliery said we couldn't have any crisps."
Phil tried to show as many emotions as possible when talking to Sarah. She was only seven and didn't understand why Phil didn't talk. That was okay though, sometimes even Phil didn't understand it.
"Time for bed." Martyn said coming in the living shouting off the tv.
Sarah pouted but gave him a kiss goodnight before climbing on top of Phil's back. He placed her in her bed when they got to their room before kicking off his shoes and throwing himself on his bed. He smiled, he couldn't wait to hear what Louise and Zoe had to say tomorrow.
