Ch 8. Blood
"Jimin are you sure this is a great idea?"
"Do you want the truth or lie?"
"The truth please"
"If you like seeing these hot shirtless men then i'm sure this is a great idea, even beyond great ide- ouch"
Jimin hisses once he earns a hit on the back of his shoulder by Taehyung. Walking through the place that had crowded to the brim.
The large venue resembles newfound grounds and glimmered jitters; it's lingering bodies and smooth blood and it's all paint unwinding the ground. On the walls, there's a cascading posters and cabaret spray paint incubating the space.
And Park Jimin simultaneously blends in both their bodies through the staring eyes and whispers. They quickly become the antithesis of the place. Easily, with his ballet clothes still on, blonde curls sitting perfectly across his forehead, like thulian flowers.
And as they take a seat through the crowd of chattered people, Taehyung begins to wonder if this really is the right place.
"Jimin- is this really where Jeongguk's match is?"
"Tae, I told you. With these hot shirtless men this is surely the right-"
"Jimin!"
"Alright, alright I will stop. But seriously tae enjoy the view a bit" Jimin nods towards him, taking a sip of his drink, that he surprisingly had gathered from a random brick on his way before continuing.
"Anyway, I told you.. I only took you here to see the kind of things Jeongguk and his group get involved in" Jimin says. And his voice, serious and severe is what takes Taehyung's attention.
Taehyung stares up in confusion "What do you mean by that?" He's a bit concerned as to why Jimin's words never go together. Leaving things for him to only figure out. And now, was one of these moments.
As Jimin gives him a half placed smile when the crowd of people around them had started to cheer their lungs out.
"Check it out for yourself"
Jimin only tells before returning his gaze to the main venue. Taehyung squinted brows and confused gaze following his.
The match was about to start with all the loud hoots around the seats.
None was sitting down with their screaming lungs to the one's they were betting their money on. Taehyung heard a lot of Jeongguk's name through the place.
And he smiles lightly at that. Knowing he most be a favorite around here.
And then only a second later Jeongguk appeared through the venue and all the cheers had went crazy. Drumming through his ears in a way the ballad music in his ears had never occurred.
Taehyung only gulped the slightest, the smile on his face growing and the pit of his stomach turning when his eyes widen in excitement when his gaze followed Jeongguk far down.
and Taehyung feels his cheeks grow warm when Jeongguk suddenly takes of the jacket over his body. Leaving him shirtless, just as Jimin had been blabbering about these men.
But what widened his eyes further and his mouth gaping the slightest weren't his strong build. Daunting muscles and edges across his chest and stomach.
It was the ink that painted his body, tattoos over almost every edge of his body, pressed between the skin of his arms and chest and-
"Oh come on tae, you're already blushing?! unbelievable" Taehyung blushes further when Jimin says it. And the ballerina had to retreated his gaze a few steps, shifting his face from any more embarrassment.
But when another round of applause gathered the venue it what takes back his attention.
And his lips find themselves between his teeth. He had been to caught up on his warm cheeks to notice that now two contestants stood in the ring.
"Three rounds, I want a clean fight, one minute per match. Back to your corners" The pretty young refeere shouts and all hell breaks loose.
Taehyung waits. Holds his breath. Feels the blood running through his veins and the turn on his stomach not akin to excitement. It's as if he's ability to course through his own breath had stopped and he knows that his gaze didn't seem to leave Jeongguk.
Jeongguk looked daunting, through the noises of cheers and hooting of his name from the audience. "Last one standing takes the win. Let's get ready to rumble!"
The ballerina couldn't process anything to fast. One second they were before each other and the next the screams and standing ovations had gathered around.
And the match begins.
Jeongguk took the first move. And Taehyung's eyes startles, grasps a shaky breath when he strikes right to the shoulder. He tried to strike again but the opponent managed to dodge the hit.
Jimin's saying something but Taehyung can't seem to hear anything past the ringing in his ears. When the opponent strikes Jeongguk right to his jaw, he stumbles back. Taehyung didn't know what was happening. Even the loud hoots are muffled in his ears and he feels disoriented.
Dizzy - nauseous because there were no boundaries when blood had got involved.
Was this really boxing?
They kept testing each other's water, the opponent feinted and landed a good blow on Jeongguk's jaw once again, but in the follow-up Jeongguk takes a hook and strikes a punch to the guys leg, over and over again. His ribs, chest, legs and then he falls.
Second round bells. After they had returned to their corners Taehyung brows squint. Jeongguk's jaw was bruised.
A cut on his lip and in the corner, Jin is massaging his shoulder before the hoots and cheers gathers again and they are back in the ring.
Taehyung can't process fast enough.
Not when the opponent tries to strike for the second time, handled fist but received his own when Jeongguk had set a punch right directly to the other's set jaw.
Another to his pelvis and then his leg and now he was on the ground. And he hears the cheers again, the referee and his own breath.
His eyes cautiously open, and he sees they way opponents blood was condensing quickly in the air.
And Taehyung could only grip tighter into his chair, knuckles turning white under his fists when he watches Jeongguk strike a hit over and over again.
He see blood trickling down his face, half dazed eyes and body hazzled to stand up. Then the last hit strikes, jeongguk's punch right to his ribs and the cheers hoots and the refferee calls off.
Taehyung can't remember anything when he closes his eyes.
He looks mortified. Only remember's some medic team over the opponent, Jeongguk, blood. And he doesn't get it.
"W-why didn't they stop it?"
Taehyung let out a loud breath when it ended- when Jeongguk went to the corner. Sweat glinting his shoulders and towels handled to his skin. And his terrified eyes turn to his best friend.
"Because this isn't legal boxing tae" Taehyung doesn't get it.
He feels too much at once and he doesn't get why someone would put themselves in such a thing. Yet the hollowness in his chest grows and the walls around his heart tightens,
and Taehyung can't seem to think of anything other than that Jeongguk is hurt.
And he moves his gaze back to the main field, but Jeongguk is gone.
"Jiminie, I need to see Jeongguk" Taehyung quickly jumps out of his chair. Almost yells through the louds cheers and Jimin doesn't seem to hear him.
Instead he gets up aswell, grabs a hold of Taehyung's shoulder.
"I need to go to the bathroom, but I will meet you back at the entré when I text you okay?"
Jimin doesn't even wait for an answer before he squeezed his legs together and leaves. Leaving a confused and lost Taehyung behind to only pend for himself to find Jeongguk.
He stumbles out of the stools, almost trips over at the crowd, but somehow manages to push past the bodies of people and out onto the open. It's empty huffs and chattering. Bodies all crowded up on him and he can't breathe.
He tries to get a grip on himself but he can't breathe. Taehyung feels himself drowning. Confidence deflating, and his lungs burn in the crowd and he's suffocating.
The world stops. Everything shifts and there's a storm over his body, his blonde locks that had sat perfectly is now a mess.
But under the brief second of himself through the bodies, he feels strong grip on his wrist, and then he's being pulled out.
