Weeks passed by with Ayesha working under Ahaan and every time she would step into the workplace, she would hope for some miracle to happen and for Ahaan to acknowledge her presence but all her attempts would go in vain when he wouldn't even spare her a glance.

She was heartbroken and fed up with his ignorance. It would break her more whenever she would see him laughing with Victoria. She gets that she is his friend but she can see all that he is trying to show her. He wants her out of his life like she didn't even existed and she is going to do exactly that.

She wiped her tears and splashed some water over her face. She looked pale and not like the Ayesha she was before, always full of life. How can she when there is so much going on in her life.

She wiped her wet face and taking a deep breathe walked out of the washroom and to her work station. Fetching all the papers and files that were scattered around, she filed them all and headed towards Ahaan's cabinet to give them.

She was determined that she will talk to him today after days of him ignoring her and their situation. He cannot run away from the reality like this. He will have to face it tomorrow, if not today.

She walked in after knocking at the door. She found Victoria sitting on his table while he sat on his chair and they were having quite a good chat. He was looking care free like he used to be before. She missed the old him.

She cleared her throat gaining their attention.

"These are the papers that Nikhil sir wanted you to sign" She said giving the papers to him.

"Yeah, will do that. You may leave" His professional and strict replies always made her sad.

"I wanted to talk to you" She said in a meek voice making him raise his eyebrows.

"Alone" She added looking at Victoria.

"Cool I'll be out and Ahaan don't forget to be ready tomorrow for the dinner" Victoria said winking at him and walked out leaving the two alone.

Ahaan didn't even spared a glance at Ayesha as he signed away the papers.

"If it's work related go on, if not then I am not interested" He made it clear.

"Can you please hear me out once." Ayesha pleaded.

"I have an important meeting to attend" He walked past her and out of the door.

Ayesha sighed to herself rubbing her forehead that has started to ache with all the things going around.

"Why the hell is he so stubborn" She gritted before walking out of his cabin.

This went for about two more weeks. Whenever she would go to him in order to sort things out, he would avoid her as if she was some plague.

It was just another similar day where Ayesha made an attempt to talk to him but it was of no use. Feeling dejected she was at her usual place, the park side café drawing patterns on the hot coffee mug.

'Relationships would be successful only when there was push from both the sides' she remembered her mom saying this to Ahira while advising her and she couldnt agree less with it now.

She was frustrated beyond limit with Ahaan's immature behaviour. She sighed sipping the last sip of her coffee.

'One last time wouldn't hurt' She said to herself before picking up her belongings and heading out after paying the bill.

"We really need to talk Ahaan" She spat as she entered his room without knocking.

"What the hell are you doing here?" He raised his eyebrows, his voice calm. Calmness before the storm.

"Just like how I used to come here before" She smiled looking at him.

The one last time she was going to try was today and unlike before when she used to talk to him in his cabin, she was now in his house, in his room.

He sat there on his couch looking at her with gritted teeth seething in anger.

"I don't have time for your nonsense, so you better go" He diverted his attention from her to his mobile only to make her snatch it from him.

"What the hell!" He shouted.

"Will you stop shouting?" She exclaimed.

"Why would I listen to you ?" He narrowed his eyes.

"Because I am your wife" She answered much to her to her own amusement.

His features softened and he sighed before sitting down on his previous place and held his head in between his hands. He was tired of running away from his problems and he wanted to end them all.

"Let's have a talk like civilised humans?" Ayesha held his biceps, making him nod.

"I really loved her" Came his voice. She looked at him with a confused expression.

"I adored her from the start. Her beauty, her way of talking, her smile, the whole of her. Rinoz was someone I wanted to have to myself for my whole life" Her heart twisted in pain hearing him talk about Rinoz. Even if theirs was not a normal relationship, she still was his wife.

"I am sorry" She whispered.

"Dont be, its not your fault" He smiled sadly.

"Can we not give us a chance?" She asked hoping to get a positive answer but whom was she kidding.

"There is no us Ayesha" Came his curt reply.

"See, I dont love you and I know you are not over Rinoz but we can work it out Ahaan. There are so many marriages out there which were arranged and started off with no love but they have worked right" She turned him towards her and cupped his face in her hands.

His eyes held so many emotions similar to hers but both of them couldn't decipher what it was that the other needed.

"Look I know this is not easy for you but you have to understand that it's not just you that we are talking about. Either you give us a chance or set me free from this relationship that has no meaning to you neither to me" He looked up at her with so many emotions swirling in his eyes.

Neither her nor him knew what was it between them that it was causing pain after hearing what Ayesha said.

"My parents want me to settle down and I don't have any problem with it but before that I want a closure" She voiced out while he stayed silent glued to his place.

"There are a few alliances for me and I have no problem with them. So please do whatever you want before that. If you ask me what to do, I would say set me free" With that she walked away leaving behind a frustrated Ahaan with his thoughts.

Seconds turned into minutes and minutes into hours as he sat there wondering what was happening to him. Why did he opened up to Ayesha while all he wanted was to stay away from her.
