Bound By Secrets: The Warewolf's Confrontation
Morning, 9:00 AM.
I was fast asleep, completely snug and cozy in Tae's arms. His hand rested firmly around my waist, holding me close even in his sleep.
Suddenly, I jolted awake, my eyes snapping open. "Tae, wake up! It's 9:00 already! We need to leave by 10:00. Get up!"
Author's POV
Yn and Taehyung are a married couple who share a special bond that started in college. Tae was a young and charismatic professor, while Yn was a bright Veterinary student. As fate would have it, Tae was Yn's math teacher. Their love story began when Yn, bold and persistent, confessed her feelings first. Yn was not just an exceptional student but also kind and endearing. However, her one weakness was Taehyung.
Taehyung, on the other hand, was notoriously lazy when it came to everyday tasks—waking up early, cooking, bathing, and helping with chores were not his strong suits. His one undeniable skill? Being an incredibly handsome professor. Although he harbored feelings for Yn, he prioritized professionalism and initially ignored her advances. Yn, with her determination, made the first move, and their story culminated in marriage.
Back in the present, Taehyung groaned, still buried in the blankets. "Five more minutes, babe. I slept late last night..."
"And whose fault is that?" I shot back. "Who told you to stay up watching movies so late? Now wake up, or else..."
Reluctantly, he sat up on the bed like a pouting child, rubbing his eyes without even opening them.
"I'm going to take a shower. Feed Tannie something, and don't even think about drinking coffee before brushing your teeth," I warned.
"Hmm... fine, go on. Ugh," he muttered, slumping back slightly with a heavy sigh.
Tae's POV
Sometimes I wonder who the real lecturer is in this house. With a sigh, I trudged downstairs, spotting Tan curled up and snoring away peacefully. That dog lives like a king here, and it's all thanks to her.
"Tan, wake up. Your food's ready," I called, shaking the food bowl.
The moment he heard me, Tan jumped up as though he hadn't eaten in years. He sniffed around enthusiastically before diving into his meal.
I switched on the TV while Tan ate, flipping through channels absentmindedly.
"There's been another brutal animal attack in the city," the reporter announced. "The police suspect it to be the work of an animal, given the deep bite marks and scratches. The victim reportedly suffered a fatal panic attack."
Just as the grim news played, Yn walked down the stairs. She had on a simple jeans-and-shirt combo, her damp hair wrapped in a towel. Her sharp eyes immediately caught sight of the TV screen.
"How can someone harm another being like this?!" she exclaimed, a mix of anger and disbelief in her voice. Her expression shifted as she took a closer look. "Wait... Tae, isn't that the convenience store ahjushi?" she asked, walking toward me.
Flashback
A little boy had sneaked into a convenience store, stuffing a loaf of bread and a packet of ramen into his bag. He nervously glanced around, hoping no one had seen him.
Unfortunately, the shop owner did. Furious, the man stormed toward the boy and began hitting him mercilessly. Slap after slap left the boy nearly unconscious, and his terrified cries echoed in the store.
Yn and I had been at the store, casually shopping, when the commotion caught our attention. Yn immediately rushed forward to intervene.
"Stop it!" she shouted, stepping between the boy and the shop owner.
The man glared at her. "And there comes someone to defend a thief," he scoffed. Without warning, he grabbed a bottle of warm water and dumped it over her.
"Pay for him if you're so concerned," the man sneered, his tone mocking.
My blood boiled at that moment. Anger surged through me as I clenched my fists, ready to strike him. But just as I moved, Yn stopped me, gently pushing me back.
With calm determination, she pulled out her wallet. "I'll pay for everything. And while you're at it, give me a chocolate-flavored ice cream for the boy along with these snacks," she said, her voice steady despite the humiliation.
End of Flashback
That memory still lingered, and now seeing that same man on the TV brought a strange chill. As Yn stood there watching the news, I couldn't help but think back to her kindness—even when the world didn't deserve it.
"Look here, Tae," Yn said, her eyes glued to the screen. "The burnt area is still red and bluish... but he's dead? Woah, I can't wrap my head around this..."
I glanced at her, then stretched lazily. "Yn, I'm going to take a shower. Can you please iron my clothes and leave them on the bed?"
She gave me a look, half-annoyed and half-amused. "Ahh, no way. Do it yourself if you want them ironed. I need to get ready—it's my bestie's wedding, after all."
We both stood there, bickering for a minute, before resorting to our usual solution. "Rock, paper, scissors," I suggested.
After a few rounds of playful cheating on both sides, Yn finally lost. With a dramatic sigh, she grabbed my clothes to iron them.
A few minutes later, as she moved around, looking radiant in her outfit, I couldn't help but admire her. "Yn, you look even more beautiful than you did on our wedding day," I said with a teasing grin.
"Tae~~~stop it," she mumbled, covering her flushed face with her small hands.
Smiling at her shy reaction, I walked closer and gently rubbed the back of her neck.
"Tae~~~stop it, it tickles!" she laughed, trying to wriggle away.
"Ufff," I said with mock frustration before leaning down and gently kissing her lips.
Her hands relaxed as I intertwined our fingers and slowly backed her toward the wall. My heart raced as I deepened the kiss, lost in the moment.
But, of course, our precious time together was interrupted by the shrill ring of a phone.
Yn broke away reluctantly, catching her breath. She gave me a small smile, nudging me lightly. "Pick up the call," she said, motioning toward my phone.
"You're going to die if this isn't something important, Jungkook," I muttered into the phone, clearly annoyed by the interruption.
"Hey, man, chill! It's my wedding party. I'm guessing you're ready by now, right? Ria's waiting for Yn, and we need you both here soon," Jungkook replied, his tone full of excitement.
I turned slightly, checking to see if Yn could overhear our conversation. She was sitting on the floor, happily patting Tannie, who looked like he was enjoying every second of her attention. I sighed in relief and dropped my voice.
"Jungkook... sometimes I wish you were here, bunny. I'd love to cut off that wagging tail of yours."
Jungkook's laugh echoed through the phone. "Oh no, wolfie, it's my precious tail! Don't even think about it. By the way, did you ever tell her that you're a werewolf?"
His words hit me like a brick wall. My playful demeanor vanished, and my voice dropped an octave. "Don't talk about those things on the phone, Kookie."
"Exactly why you should've told her before you got married!" he countered. "Look at me and Ria—no secrets, no lies, and living a peaceful life."
I pinched the bridge of my nose, frustration bubbling inside me. "Kookie, what if she doesn't want me? What if she reacts the way Hobi hyung's girlfriend did? You remember what happened to him, don't you?"
Jungkook's voice softened, turning serious. "Tae, that's not the same situation. She left Hobi because she was selfish and cruel. She didn't care about him the way Yn cares for you. You can't keep comparing your bond to theirs—it's completely different."
I hesitated, his words sinking in. "Alright, JK... I'll talk to you later. She's coming. Bye."
As I hung up, Yn walked over, holding my freshly ironed clothes. She handed them to me with a playful smirk and nudged me toward the bathroom.
"Now go, Mr. Lazybones. Take a bath, or we'll be late!"
I chuckled and obeyed, heading off to get ready, all the while wondering how I'd ever tell her my deepest secret.
Their Outfits for wedding party
At the party, the room lit up with cheers and applause as Jimin grabbed the microphone, his energy infectious.
"Alright, everyone! Let's give a big round of applause for the newlywed lovable couple—Mr. Jeon Jungkook and Ria!" he shouted enthusiastically.
The crowd erupted, clapping and cheering for the bride and groom, who stood at the center, glowing with happiness. Jungkook waved sheepishly while Ria smiled brightly, bowing in gratitude.
"Let's celebrate this beautiful pair!" Jimin added, raising his glass, and the room echoed with excitement.
The newlyweds, Jungkook and Ria, entered the hall hand in hand, their faces glowing with joy. Smiling warmly, they greeted their guests and raised glasses of wine, toasting not only to their happiness but also to everyone present.
After bowing graciously to their guests, Jungkook addressed the crowd. "Please enjoy the party!" he said with a wide grin.
Nearby, Taehyung leaned over to tease Yn, who was watching the couple with a soft, affectionate smile. "Are you happy now?" he whispered.
Yn rolled her eyes, playfully smacking his shoulder. "Be quiet," she replied, her cheeks slightly flushed.
Meanwhile, Jungkook approached them, a mischievous glint in his eyes. He gently handed Ria over to Yn. "Take care of her for a bit," he said before grabbing Tae's arm and dragging him to another room, a bottle of wine in hand.
Yn and Ria exchanged knowing smiles.
"Ria~~~ at last, you got what you wanted, huh?" Yn teased, nudging her lightly. "Look at you blushing... hey!"
Ria giggled, waving her hands dismissively. "Yn, stop! This dress is heavy enough without you making me all dizzy!"
Yn's curiosity grew, and she glanced in the direction where Jungkook had taken Tae. "Why did JK drag Tae away?"
Ria shrugged lightly. "He said he needed to talk to him about something."
Deciding not to dwell on it, the two wandered over to the dessert table, enjoying the sweets on display.
In the other room, Jungkook poured himself a glass of wine, fixing Tae with a serious look. "So, when will that day come?" he asked, his voice laced with urgency.
Tae sighed, running a hand through his hair. "You know we wolves can't get drunk, we can't sleep-talk, and we definitely can't lie to our mates. Every day is a battle for me, JK. I'm trying my best just to make it through."
Jungkook shook his head, frustrated. "Then why drag it out? It's already been a year. If you keep stalling, it'll only get harder."
"I've talked to Yoongi hyung about it," Tae explained. "He told me to wait until after the eclipse passes."
"October?" Jungkook's brows furrowed. "You're seriously going to wait until then?"
Tae sighed again. "No, I tried to bring it up once. I mentioned fairytale-like stories to gauge her reaction."
"And?" Jungkook leaned forward.
"She dismissed it completely," Tae admitted. "She said it was impossible, and her expression... I could tell she was disgusted by the idea. My courage just... crumbled, like my tail curling up."
Jungkook groaned, rubbing his temple. "Bro, enough is enough. I've already set up everything for you today—candles, a beautiful table, and a room full of rose petals. Just confess to her tonight. Finish this once and for all."
Tae's POV
The thought of confessing made my palms sweat and my heart race. "Tae, you're a werewolf. Come on, bro, you can do this," I tried to pep talk myself.
I entered the room, my nerves on edge, and saw Yn standing by the window. The moonlight kissed her face, making her look ethereal. She was gazing out at the garden, bathed in the soft glow of the midnight sun.
"Yn?" I called her name softly, and when her eyes met mine, my heart started pounding like crazy. The familiar rush of hormones coursed through me—a clear sign of my heat, something only other wolves could detect. If she were one, she'd know what I was feeling right now.
"Ah, Tae," she said with a sweet smile. "Ria told me to wait here. What's going on?"
"Yn, come here, bae," I said, patting the bed beside me.
She walked over and sat down, her curiosity evident. I followed, sitting close to her, trying to calm my frayed nerves.
"Yn, do you remember that mermaid story? The one where the mermaid dies at the end? What would you do if you were her? Would you still marry the boy you loved or leave him behind?"
She tilted her head, thinking, and then replied, "If the conclusion is death, I'd have to leave him..."
Her answer stung, but I pressed on. "No, Yn. Imagine she could make things work—that she could protect him and herself, keep them both safe. What would you do then?"
She lowered her gaze, lost in thought, and finally said, "I'd still leave him. What if I couldn't protect him? I wouldn't want to live without him, so I might die for him. But if he ended up dying for me too... then neither of us would survive, and no one would remain to remember our love. It's better to leave before it hurts too much."
Her words stabbed at my heart. Why couldn't she see love in a more hopeful way? Why couldn't she be excited about the idea of loving someone like me, a werewolf?
"Yn..." I said, my voice trembling. "There's something I need to tell you."
Her eyes sparkled with curiosity as she turned to look at me, her full attention now mine.
End of Tae's POV
The next day, at Namjoon's house, the tension in the air was palpable. Taehyung knelt on the floor before Namjoon, his expression a mix of innocence and frustration.
"Hyeong," Tae began, his voice firm yet pleading, "he's the one who first hurt my baby... and he hurt that little boy too."
Namjoon remained silent for a moment before his deep voice echoed through the room. "GET UP!"
Tae quickly stood, facing Namjoon, who sat on an imposing chair at the head of the room.
"Yn... right?" Namjoon's sharp eyes bore into Tae. "I want to meet her."
Tae's heart raced. "Huh? No, Hyeong... I haven't told her yet."
"I told Jungkook to make sure it happened," Namjoon replied, leaning back in his chair.
Tae rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Ahh, that day she felt a bit uneasy because of the crowd, and we both just... slept." He hesitated before adding, "Hyeong, I need more time. I don't want to surprise her in a way that scares her."
Namjoon's gaze hardened. "Ten days, Tae. I'm giving you ten days. After that, you will bring Yn here. She hasn't once shared a meal with me, and it's time she understands our culture. You'll honor it. Do you understand?"
Tae swallowed hard, his head bowing slightly. "I'll try, Hyeong."
"Good." Namjoon's voice softened but remained authoritative.
Tae left Namjoon's house with a heavy heart and called Yn, his voice tinged with worry. "Yn, where are you?"
"I'm at the hospital," she replied gently. "I'm looking after a cat. I'll leave by 5:00 PM."
"I'll pick you up," Tae said, unable to hide the sadness in his tone.
Yn noticed immediately. "Tae, is everything okay? Do you want me to come now?"
"No, Yn," he reassured her quickly. "Finish your work. I... I just have something to take care of first."
"Hmm... alright," she replied, her concern evident before she hung up.
Tae sighed, gripping the steering wheel tightly, before heading toward the dark forest. His destination was a massive, foreboding castle—the heart of his enemy's territory.
The werewolf sprinted through the forest, muscles rippling under its fur as it moved with incredible speed, eyes glowing fiercely. The forest trembled with each powerful stride as Tae, in his wolf form, raced toward the enemy's castle. His mind was clouded with the pressure of his promise to Namjoon and the fear of revealing his true nature to Yn. As the towering castle loomed ahead, Tae slowed, shifting back into his human form. The chilling air and closed gates warned of the danger ahead. But with a determined resolve, he stepped forward, ready to confront his enemy
He reached the place and stood steadily before him.
He smirked and told "how are you? long time no see....BYEON. WOO. SEOK?"
They both smirked at each other and their veins started spreading out and they both waved their long furred tails.
"I heard you killed a child, and ate it for your dinner.....was it spicy...?" as Tae said he went snarling , claws extended. A silver blade flashed, meeting its attack. "Why did that old hag told u to taste and come?" The beast roared, and ended up as a fighting mess....they both had the same level speed "Dont you dare insult my hyeong, you filthy dog...." biting each other....and Byeon Woo Seok ran from the place with a lighting speed.
Tae changed into his normal state and looked at his neck bleeding. He went home and applies some ointments that Yn used to apply for Tannie's wound and bandaged himself.
It's a normal wound as for him.
He looked at the time and its 4:50.
"OH, shit.....i forgot i have to pick Yn....." He took the car key and drove so fast.
When he went there she was not anywhere near the gate, and so Tae went inside the Hospital.
"Ahh, professor...what bring you here?"
"Jerina, do you know where Yn is? I told her to wait...she doesn't obey my words..."
"But Tae Shi, she went earlier today saying she wants to meet you....Is everything okk Sir?"
"Ohh yeah...i think she waits for me at the café since i'm late...call me if she comes here "
Tae searched for Yn every place wherever she can go but he can't figure where she went.
Its been an hour since Yn got disappeared. Suddenly he can smell the Ware wolf smell near the hospital. He calmed down and tried to smell the place...and he is sure that it is "Byeon woo seok!!!!! I'm gonna kill you, if i saw you" He shouted.
He got a video call from Yn and he picked it up hurriedly...
"Woah......hello, brother....nice meeting you....u look tired wanna meet your wifey?"
"Heyy.....once i catch you, i'll tear you, seperate into pieces and throw you to those lions...as a last supper...and i'll sit there watching those eating you...piece by piece"
"Stay calm.....Wolfey brother. Here, look she is in drugs right now. I gave her an heavy dose one...and she is feeling so thirsty...i've blood and water....i'll choose which one....at the speed you reach here."
"Tae....Tae...don't come here.....he is dangerous, inform to police-"
Woo Seok beat her neck and made her unconscious ...and told Tae "Ur wife has some guts to tell u to wait and go call a police....he he"
"Woo Seok don't you dare lay a hair of yours in her body. How about this? Reach her in 5 min...i'll spare her. Come on now you sniffy doggy...."
Tae started sniffing his scent, on purpose he went to wrong places and marked his scent....
Tae at last found the place and ended up at a half built old building in the forest.
"Wanna play a real wolf game before your wife?" asked Woo Seok looking at Tae.
Tae noticed Yn sitting there confusingly and clueless... looking at him with a pitiful face.
"Sorry Yn!" Tae shouted and changed to ware wolf form and they had a furious fight.
The forest was alive with the roar of the storm, thunder echoing through the towering pines as the battle between Taehyung and Woo Seok unfolded. The moon, full and glowing, cast an eerie light over the chaos below, illuminating every brutal clash.
Woo Seok's wolf form was massive, his dark fur slick with rain and streaked with blood from Taehyung's strikes. His amber eyes glowed with unyielding rage as he lunged forward, claws slicing through the air. But Taehyung, faster and more precise, sidestepped with inhuman agility, his movements calculated yet feral. His silver fur shimmered like a ghost under the moonlight, his growl deep and menacing.
"You've lost, Woo Seok!" Taehyung's voice cut through the storm as he shifted back into his human form, his eyes blazing with fury. "This ends now."
Woo Seok snarled, refusing to surrender. But in his desperation, he turned toward Y/N, who was tied in the chair, he went near her and scratched neck which made her breath shallow. Blood seeped from the claw marks on her side where Woo Seok had struck her earlier, her body trembling from the pain. He smirked wickedly, his intention clear.
"No!" Taehyung's voice was a roar as he leapt, shifting mid-air into his wolf form. His powerful jaws clamped down on Woo Seok's shoulder, yanking him away from Y/N. The two wolves tumbled into the clearing, a frenzy of teeth and claws. Woo Seok managed to land a deep gash on Taehyung's side, but it wasn't enough to stop him.
With a final, devastating move, Taehyung drove Woo Seok to the ground. His claws slashed across Woo Seok's throat in a fatal blow, and the dark wolf let out a final, choked howl before collapsing, lifeless, into the mud.
Panting heavily, Taehyung shifted back to human form and stumbled toward Y/N. His hands, trembling from exhaustion, gently cradled her face. "Stay with me," he whispered, his voice raw with emotion. "I won't let you go."
The storm began to wane, the rain drops started washing away the blood as the forest fell into a haunting silence. Taehyung's victory was bittersweet; though Woo Seok was defeated, the sight of Y/N's fragile state filled him with dread. Determined, he carried her into the night, seeking for safety.
With Y/N cradled in his arms, Taehyung sprinted through the empty streets, his werewolf speed blurring the world around him. Rain pelted his face, mixing with the blood on his hands, but he didn't stop until he reached the hospital doors.
"Help her!" he roared, bursting into the emergency room, his voice frantic and commanding. The nurses froze for a moment before rushing to take Y/N from his arms.
"It's... a dog bite," he lied hastily when the doctors questioned the deep claw marks on her side. "Please, just save her!"
The doctors, though skeptical, nodded and wheeled her into surgery. Taehyung stood frozen for a moment, the weight of the night pressing down on him. Pulling out his phone, he dialed Jimin first.
"Hyung, it's Y/N. She's at the hospital... I need you here," he said, his voice shaking. He asked Ria too to be with her as he doesn't want YN to be alone.
Without waiting for their responses, he slipped out of the hospital, the need to distance himself overwhelming. He couldn't risk anyone piecing together the truth—not yet.
As thunder roared and lightning lit the dim room, Taehyung hastily packed his bag, his movements hurried and unrelenting. When he pushed aside a pile in the closet, something tumbled to the floor—a leather-bound diary.
His breath caught as he read the neat label on the cover: "Y/N's Personal Locker."
Curiosity and dread mixed within him as he opened it, the faint scent of her filling the air. His eyes scanned the pages, and with each word, his hands trembled. The storm outside mirrored the turmoil building inside him.
The hospital room was quiet except for the steady beeping of machines monitoring Y/N's vitals. She lay motionless on the bed, her wounds carefully bandaged. The marks on her body bore the evidence of the violent attack, but her face, though pale, looked peaceful under the effects of the sedative.
Ria sat by her side, holding Y/N's hand tightly, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. She looked down at her friend, sadness etched on her face. Jungkook stood beside her, his hand resting on her shoulder in silent comfort. "Don't worry," he said softly, trying to reassure her even as worry flickered in his own eyes.
The door creaked open, and a doctor entered, holding a clipboard with Y/N's reports. He stopped near the pair and asked, "Are you the guardians for this patient?"
"Yes, doctor. Is everything alright?" Jungkook replied quickly, his voice laced with concern.
The doctor adjusted his glasses, his expression serious. "Where is the person who brought her here? We have some questions."
"He wasn't here when we arrived," Jungkook explained, glancing at Ria for support. "We're her friends, but you can tell us, Doctor."
The doctor hesitated briefly before speaking. "The wounds on her body match the marks left by the animal the police have been investigating. I believe she was attacked by the same creature. However," he paused, his tone growing more serious, "we also found traces of drugs in her system. It's not severe, but it's likely why her condition worsened before she arrived."
Ria's hand gripped Y/N's more tightly, her face paling as she processed the doctor's words.
"She is stable now," the doctor continued, his tone softening slightly. "She should wake up soon, but she will need five days of observation and care to recover fully, especially due to the drugs in her blood."
"Thank you, doctor," Ria murmured, her voice breaking slightly as she tried to stay composed. She turned back to Y/N, tears slipping down her cheeks as she held her friend's hand, silently willing her to wake.
After several hours, Y/N's eyelids fluttered open slowly. Her voice was barely audible as she whispered, "Water...
Jungkook, who had fallen asleep leaning against Ria, stirred at the sound. He blinked awake and gently shook Ria's shoulder. "Ria, wake up! She's waking up," he said urgently.
Ria groggily sat up, her eyes widening when she saw Y/N's half-open eyes. "Y/N... can you see me?" she asked, holding up one finger. "Tell me, how many fingers?"
Y/N didn't answer the question, her voice still faint as she repeated, "Water..."
Jungkook nodded quickly, his concern clear. "She needs water, Ria." He grabbed a glass from the nearby table and helped Ria stretch Y/N's back slightly to make it easier for her to drink. Together, they carefully held the glass to her lips, letting her sip.
After drinking, Y/N looked around, blinking as if trying to adjust to her surroundings. Her gaze grew sharper, and her voice carried more urgency. "Where is Tae? He was seriously injured... bleeding so much. Jungkook, where is he?"
Jungkook hesitated, glancing at Ria nervously. "Y/N, calm down... I think—"
But Y/N interrupted him sharply, her tone growing stronger. "Jungkook, Ria, don't try to lie to me again. I know everything." Her eyes locked onto theirs, unwavering. "I know that Tae isn't human. He's a werewolf."
Her words hit them like a bolt of lightning, and just as she finished speaking, a loud clap of thunder struck outside, shaking the windows.
Jungkook and Ria stared at her in stunned silence, their faces pale. Neither could find the words to respond, the truth they'd hidden now laid bare.
In Taehyung' House
Taehyung stood frozen in the center of his room, the diary open in his trembling hands. His eyes scanned Y/N's heartfelt words, each sentence striking him with a mix of shock and bittersweet joy.
Her writing revealed her knowledge of his secret and her acceptance of him as a werewolf.
His chest tightened as he reread the lines where she expressed her trust and care for him. For a fleeting moment, he felt a warmth he hadn't known in years—someone truly understood him, saw him for what he was, and still didn't turn away.
But then, reality struck him like a thunderclap. The dangers that surrounded him, the chaos he carried wherever he went—it all pointed back to one truth: he was the greatest threat to Y/N's safety. The memory of her injuries, the blood staining her clothes, and the way she clung to life at the hospital haunted him.
As his mind raced, he suddenly recalled the story Y/N had once told him about the mermaid who loved a human. The mermaid had to let her love go, knowing their worlds could never truly coexist without one destroying the other. The parallel was clear now—he was the predator, and she was too precious to be dragged into his darkness.
Resolute, Taehyung made his decision. He closed the diary, his fingers lingering on the cover as if saying a silent goodbye. Then, he turned toward his half-packed bag, determination hardening his features.
If he stayed, he would only bring her more pain. The only way to protect her was to leave, to vanish into the shadows and live in solitude. For her sake, and his own peace, he would go to a place where no one could follow.
The second part will be out soon.
