Chapter 2
Sara called her best friend, Aditi. As soon as Aditi picked up, she cheerfully asked, "What's up, baby?"
"Hey, Adu. Guess what? My dad arranged for me to stay with Shubman Gill while I'm in Mumbai," Sara said, rolling her eyes a bit.
Aditi giggled. "Ooh, Shubman Gill! Living with a handsome cricketer, huh? Lucky you!"
Sara laughed. "Stop it, Adu. It's not like that. He's just helping out because my dad asked him."
"Sure, sure," Aditi teased. "Just don't fall for him. Or do, and then tell me all the juicy details!"
"You're impossible," Sara replied, shaking her head. "Anyway, speaking of cricketers, guess who Shubman's best friend is?"
"Who?" Aditi asked, genuinely curious.
"Ishan Kishan," Sara said with a grin, knowing what was coming next.
Aditi let out a dramatic gasp. "No way! Ishan Kishan? He's so cute! Do you think you could, you know, introduce me?"
Sara chuckled. "Actually, I already know Ishan. We've been friends for a while. He and Shubman are really close."
Aditi squealed with excitement. "This is perfect! You have to introduce us, Sara! Please?"
"Alright, alright," Sara said, laughing. "I'll see what I can do. But remember, I'm there to study, not play matchmaker."
"I know, I know," Aditi said, still bubbling with enthusiasm. "But just imagine – me and Ishan! It would be amazing."
"We'll see, Adu," Sara replied with a smile. "But for now, I need to focus on getting ready for the move. I'll keep you posted."
"Deal," Aditi said, her excitement still palpable. "Good luck with the move, Sara. And remember, I'm counting on you!"
As they hung up, Sara felt a renewed sense of excitement about the move. Living with Shubman might be a bit challenging, but at least she had her best friend cheering her on and dreaming up romantic possibilities along the way.
Meanwhile, back at Shubman's house, he was catching up with his best friend, Ishan. As soon as Ishan stepped inside, he looked around in amazement at the spotless living room.
"Whoa, Veere! Did you hire a cleaning service or something? This place looks great!" Ishan exclaimed.
Shubman chuckled. "Nope, all thanks to Shahneel Di. I needed to clean up because Sara Tendulkar is going to stay here for a while."
Ishan raised an eyebrow, a teasing grin spreading across his face. "Sara Tendulkar? The Sara Tendulkar? Living with you? Bhai, that sounds interesting!"
"Don't start, Ishan," Shubman said, rolling his eyes. "Sachin sir asked me to help her out while she pursues her medical studies here in Mumbai. It's nothing more than that."
"Sure, sure," Ishan said, still grinning. "But you know, she's really pretty. Are you sure you won't fall for her?"
"Stop it, Ishan," Shubman said, shaking his head. "We're just housemates, nothing more."
Ishan laughed. "Alright, I'll drop it. But I can't wait to see how this plays out."
Shubman smirked and changed the subject. "So, how's Manya doing? Haven't heard much about her lately."
Ishan's expression softened. "She's good. You know how she is – not really into hanging out much, but I love her a lot. We're doing fine."
"That's great to hear," Shubman said, genuinely happy for his friend. "As long as you're happy, that's what matters."
"Thanks, man. Anyway, let's grab some food. I'm starving" Ishan replied, appreciating Shubman's support.
As they headed to the kitchen, Shubman felt a sense of comfort in knowing that despite all the changes and challenges ahead, he could always count on Ishan's friendship and support. Little did they know, the days to come would bring even more unexpected twists and turns in their lives.
Later that evening, Shubman heard a knock at the door. To his surprise, it was Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli. They often dropped by unannounced, and their visits were always filled with laughter and camaraderie.
As soon as they stepped inside, Hardik and Virat looked around the spotless living room, their eyes wide with shock.
"Whoa, partner! Did you transform into a neat freak overnight?" Hardik exclaimed, laughing.
Shubman grinned. "Nah, just had some help from Shahneel Di."
Virat, who was already in on the secret, smirked knowingly. "Well, this is quite a change. I wonder what could have motivated you to clean up so thoroughly."
Hardik raised an eyebrow, looking between Shubman and Virat. "Okay, what's going on here? Virat bhai, do you know something I don't?"
Virat chuckled, enjoying the moment. "Let's just say our young friend here has some special company arriving soon."
Shubman shot Virat a warning look, but couldn't help but smile. "Alright, fine. Sara Tendulkar is going to stay with me for a while. Sachin sir asked me to help her out while she's in Mumbai for her studies."
Hardik's jaw dropped. "Sara Tendulkar? Living with you? Partner, this is big!"
Virat clapped Shubman on the back. "Relax, Kaka. We're just messing with you. It's good that you're helping her out."
Shubman sighed in relief, glad that Virat hadn't spilled the beans too early. "Yeah, just trying to do a favor for Sachin sir. It's nothing more than that."
Hardik chuckled. "Sure, sure. Just remember, we're here for the juicy details."
As they all settled down in the living room, Virat couldn't resist one last tease. "So, Kaka, you sure you don't want to borrow any of my cologne or grooming tips? You know, to impress your houseguest?"
Shubman laughed, shaking his head. "Very funny, bhai. I think I'll manage just fine."
The banter continued, the room filled with laughter as they shared stories and enjoyed each other's company. Despite the teasing, Shubman felt grateful for his friends' support and the lighthearted atmosphere they brought. It made the upcoming changes feel a bit less daunting, knowing he had such a strong support system around him.
As the laughter and banter continued in the living room, Ishan, who had been in the kitchen grabbing snacks, walked back in and joined the conversation.
"Hey, guys, I hope you're not giving Shubman too hard of a time," Ishan said with a grin.
Virat looked at Ishan with a knowing smile. "Oh, we're just having some fun. You know, since Shubman's got some special company arriving."
Hardik's eyes widened with surprise. "Wait, you knew about this too, Ish?"
Ishan shrugged, a playful glint in his eye. "Yeah, I was just in the kitchen and overheard a bit and this man told me first. Figured I'd join the fun."
Virat chuckled. "Well, it looks like everyone's in on the joke except for Hardik."
Hardik laughed, shaking his head. "Alright, alright. You guys got me. But seriously, partner, how are you going to handle this?"
Shubman, trying to maintain his composure, replied, "Just make her feel comfortable."
Ishan chimed in, "And if you need any tips on handling a houseguest who's also a cricketer's daughter, I'm sure I can give you some pointers."
Virat raised an eyebrow. "Oh? You think you're an expert now?"
Ishan laughed. "Well, I know a thing or two about balancing personal space and social expectations. Plus, I've seen Sara around. She's pretty cool."
Hardik grinned, "Looks like partner's got himself a good crew of friends. You guys are the best."
Virat nudged Shubman playfully. "Just remember, if you ever need a hand with anything or if things get too intense, you've got us. We'll come to the rescue."
"Thanks, bhai," Shubman said with a grateful smile. "I'm sure things will be fine. It's just a matter of getting used to the new dynamics."
As they continued to chat and joke around, the atmosphere was light and filled with camaraderie. Shubman felt more at ease, knowing he had friends who were supportive and ready to offer their help and advice. Despite the teasing, it was clear that their support was genuine, and Shubman appreciated the sense of normalcy and friendship they provided.
