We both went to sleep. I couldn't sleep at first. All I was thinking was about Reece and Catherine, promises they made, love, heart break and everything related to this.

The next morning was a beautiful Sunday morning. I wasn't really excited about having a holiday and getting to wake up late. All I was excited was about talking to mom and dad.

I woke up at around 9.00 AM, freshened up myself and went straight to the telecom.

I called up mom first.

"Hello?" My mom answered.

"Mom? May this side." I replied.

"May? God! How are you? How is everything there? Are you studying? I hope you are enjoying. How's your roommate? Did you make any friends? Any boyfriend? And ho—" My mom started bombarding me with questions.

"Mom! Mom, chill! First, you sit down and breathe." I said with a giggle.

"Okay."

"Yes mom, I'm absolutely fine. I am studying and concentrating during the classes. Catherine is an amazing roommate. At first she was rude, but she is really nice, mom. We have a group: Catherine, I, Josh and Chris. I met a guy by the name Ron. He is disgusting. I met Reece. I know a guy by the name Evan. I'm yet to meet him." I answered to all her questions.

"Amazing, May! You have really grown up!" I heard her tone fading away.

"Mom? Are you crying?" I asked.

"Somewhat. It's a very happy moment for parents to see their kids grow up." She said.

"Mom, don't cry, please. How's Jake? I hope he isn't troubling you." I giggled.

"Of course, not. Same as before, he's busy with his work."

"Okay, mom. I'll hang up now. Have to call up dad, as well. Take care, mommy!" I said and hung up.

Next, I called up dad. I, almost had the same conversation with him.

After I was done with the calling, I went back to my room, which was a few steps away.

Few moments later, I saw Chris and Josh enter our room. Catherine got up from her bed.

"Hey guys." They greeted us.

"Wassup, man." Catherine replied.

"Umm... Actually, me and Josh are going to watch the live football match. One is right now, one in the evening and the last one is late night. Will you guys come along?" Chris said.

"Hell no!" I replied, "I don't know a word about Football, as well. I'm in no mood to spend my day watching something I don't know anything about!"

"Same boys. I'm not up for it, either." Catherine replied.

"Alright then, we both will go." Chris said, pointing at Josh and himself. "Also, we'll stay out the whole day. We'll be back by 12 midnight."

"Cool enough." Catherine replied.

They waved us a goodbye and left.

It was Sunday. We, officially had permission to leave the premises without a prior permission.

Moments later, the door swung open again.

This time, it wasn't Chris or Josh.

Reece.

"You?" Catherine said, looking at him.

"When people meet for the first time in a day, we say 'hi' and not 'you', Cathy." Reece replied. "Hey, by the way."

"Hey", she replied.

"Hi, May!" He said, giving me a hi-five.

"Heyy!" I replied with a smile.

"Anyways girls, I came here to invite you both to the celebration party for winning the Basketball tournament. Interested?" He said.

"I'm in!" I said as I jumped up.

"Are you sure?" Catherine asked.

"Of course, I am. It's just a party." I said.

"No. It's the celebration party of SunCoast High School!" Catherine said, emphasising more on 'celebration'.

But I was fine with it.

"Okay, then." Reece said.

He took a piece of paper and scribbled something on it.

"Party at Evan's place. Be there by 8 PM. I have written the address on this paper. It's hardly a five minutes car ride from here." Reece said, keeping the paper on the table.

We both have him a goodbye smile as he left.

Catherine and I got ready for the party. I wore a black dress with black stiletto heels. Catherine wore a blue dress with white stiletto heels.

We booked a cab and the driver drove us to the location.

House number 22,
Street number 7,
Westwood Avenue.

The house was a big one. We rang the doorbell and a boy came up. He was blessed with great built, black hair and hazel-brownish eyes.

"Hi. I'm Evan." He said.

"Hey." Me and Catherine replied.

That's when we saw Reece approaching the door.

"You are here!" He exclaimed in excitement.

"Of course." Catherine said.

"So, you are May and Catherine, right?" Evan said.

We both nodded.

"Yes, Reece told me about you both. Oh wait, you say the same girl who cheered for our team. Right, May?" Evan added.

I blushed in embarrassment as Reece, Catherine and Evan giggled.

"Come in. Welcome to my mansion, miladies!" Evan said, faking a British accent.

1 hour later...

Catherine and I sat on the couch after having a good one hour dance session. We had some lemon drinks.

I wasn't really familiar with anyone there, except Reece and Evan.

30 minutes more, passed off.....

"Catherine, by what time are we returning back?" I asked.

No reply.

Looked like she was day dreaming or something.

I layed my hand on her shoulder.

She moved abruptly.

"Catherine?" I asked again.

"Uh- yes?" She replied.

"Is something bothering you?" I asked.

"Uh- what? No. Nothing. I'm fine." She replied.

Even though she said a no, I could feel something wrong with her. I looked in the direction in which she had her eyes fixed. There was nothing but a big sofa with few boys and girls sitting on it.

Then I spotted Reece sitting at one corner of the sofa, with a girl beside him.

I could feel the anger flowing through Catherine's face. Why? Well, that girl was flirting with Reece.

Suddenly, Catherine got up and walked towards the counter where the drinks were arranged.

I saw her put down glass after glass. It was some transparent drink. And the next when I saw her, she was hanging all over, moving like a zombie.

I ran towards her and held her before she could fall. She gave me that weird drunk smile.

I helped her walk to the door and booked a cab.

That's when I saw Evan approaching us.

"You guys are leaving already?" He asked.

"Oh, yes. Catherine isn't doing good. Great party, though. Thanks." I said.

"Yeah. Catherine isn't at her best right now." Evan said, noticing the drunk Catherine.

That's when Reece got up from the couch, leaving his flirty girl and made his way towards us.

"Don't you think you guys are leaving pretty early?" Reece said.

"No, we don't think that. It's your celebration, your friend's place and your girls. Have fun!" Catherine said, sounding weird, drunk and insanely angry.

"Ouch! That hurt." Reece commented.

"Okay. It was my pleasure having you both here, Catherine and Mockingbird." Evan said.

"Mockingbird?" I asked.

"Yeah. A new name for you." Evan replied.

"Wow. How creative." I rolled my eyes at him.

"My pleasure, Mockingbird." He said.

"Okay, guys. Stop flirting. Catherine needs to be taken home." Reece said, interrupting.

...and we were driven back to our place, the Hailstone Vale. But something which was constantly bothering me was that why didn't Reece come forward to help Catherine. I mean, people do anything for the girl they like. Then what was this...

Catherine's POV:

May asked if something was bothering me, but. Refused. I wish I could say a yes.

Of course, something was bothering me.

I saw a girl sitting next to Reece. She was insanely flirting with him and moving her fingers across his arms. They were too close. Like, too close.

God, that bitch!

I know I was being bitchy, staring at Reece and that girl. But no offense, that girl, who was wandering over Reece's body was being even more bitchy!

I got up and left for the counter. I wanted to drink so desperately. No, I'm not twenty one yet, but I wanted to drink.

I drank I don't know how many drinks.

I heard someone say that drinking reduces the pain of heartbreak. Whosoever said that, don't say that ever again!

My heart was still aching from what I saw moments ago.

I was trembling and about to fall. That's when May ran towards me and held me. She's a savour. My lovely May.

She took me till the door and after that, I don't know what happened. I remember Evan and May talking and something something. I don't remember exactly.

Whatever, it was fun. Not what I saw, but the drinks. *Weird laughs*

Also, things that happen after people are drunk are absolutely incredible. How bad did Catherine spat at Reece! He must have had his heart out. Lol.

Also friends, don't get drunk if something like this happens. Avoid being Catherine. Well, it gets even more painful is you get drunk and think about what happened. Just like Catherine saw Reece with another girl. Trust me, it's bad. Don't drink to forget something or someone. Everyone has come into our lives for a reason and everything happens for a reason. Just let it pass.

And, never mess up with your best friend because they are the only one who hold you when you are falling. May and Catherine are the best!
