"You all?" A recognizable voice called out.

We all froze, as if the white witch from Narnia caught us into her magic.

We were already freezing because of the cold weather, but the voice was such that it sent a shiver down my spine.

We all turned around.

Guess, who was it?

Ah, no! Not Mr. Jordan. It wasn't going to be so cliché!

It was the security guard, Uncle Carter. 

The first thing that came to my mind was, "Wasn't he having his duty at the front gate? Then what on Earth is he doing here! Oh right, God has sent him to catch us red handed!"

Yay life.

"Uh- hi, Uncle Carter.." Chris said nervously, moving his hands through his messy dark hair.

"Put the 'hi' aside. Explain me, what the heck are you guys doing here?" Carter asked, focusing the torch light on our faces, though it wasn't that dark that he has to use a torch light!

Sure, this Carter guard is a really angry man. Christ! We are going to be dead.

"Uncle, we just came here for a— a— a— swim..." Josh finally spoke after so many 'a— s'.

"But you guys do have a swimming pool in the activity area. Then why the Vale?" Uncle asked again.

And guess what, we were out of excuses. Of course, we did not plan anything for when we'll get caught. We were just making up stories and expecting the security guard to buy that shit!

"You see, the water inside the pool was kinda dirty. So we just thought to why not take a swim in the Vale rather than the pool. Either ways, we were to swim in dirty water." Chris replied confidently.

I was constantly praying to God that Carter buys our excuses.

"Hmm. But one more thing, I'm here since ten minutes, but I didn't see you guys. Any explanation, kiddos?" Uncle asked.

I could see a wide grin spreading across his face. The grin, indicating that he was about to win the argument and we were to get into detention, or even worse.

I was so frustrated. All I wanted to say was, "Yes! We weren't here. Guess what, we escaped the building. Happy? No go, tell this to Mr. Jordan and get us detained! Sullen human!"

That's when Catherine came up with a new excuse. "What? You didn't see us? The edge is so near to your eyes. Oh, yes. Probably, you have got a myopic eye... Get it checked, uncle."

Right now, I can bet on anything that that Carter guard must have doubted his eye sight for being myopic, so he couldn't see us. Catherine was fooling him. I mean, even if a person has myopic eye, how could he not see a huge and wide human! But the guard buyed that, and finally let us go!

Well done, Catherine!

After the question and answer session was over, we returned back to our room and changed our clothes into something warm.

It was around 7:45 PM when someone knocked at our room's door.

There stood two massive figures; Josh and Chris.

"Bonjour amigos!" Chris greeted.

"We just met.." I replied bluntly.

This made Josh and Catherine giggle.

"Yeah, whatever..!" Chris replied.

Chris sat on the bean bag while we all sat on the bed.

"Guys, I was wondering if we could have a small game session?" Chris asked us all.

"Dude, aren't you tired of the melodrama that happened today at Cries and Fries? No, I'm not in. And also, I have to work on my Chemistry assignment." I made my point.

"Well you see, that wasn't a melodrama for me. Pick up lines are like a cake walk for me. Clear victory!" Chris replied. "And you both? Interested in playing something?" Chris asked Josh and Catherine.

They both nodded in agreement.

"Great. Catherine, bring a bottle. At whomsoever the bottle cap points, the person will be given a dare. Either complete the dare or pay $10 to each one of us!"

Catherine went to bring the bottle.

Moments later, the bottle was rotated. The cap pointed towards Josh.

"Oh damn!" Josh exclaimed. "Alright. Rush your brains, give me a dare!"

"I'll give!" Catherine instantly hopped up. She threw a pillow at Josh and said, "Imagine this pillow is your crush. Talk to it!"

"Eww! You shouldn't have done this. This is so embarrassing!"

"Okay. I'll do it." Josh held the pillow and started.
"Hey love. My pillow baby. Let's have a pillow talk. So, how do you feel when a heavy head rests at you during the night time? I assume it's painful.
Stay with me, my princess. I won't ever hurt you this way. We'll both spend nights together, under the stars. I'll make you feel special. You'll have a new pillow cover every alternate day and......."

"Okay, stop. Stop!" Catherine commanded, almost falling off the bed because of the laughter.

"Guys, I'm really tired. Shall we sleep now?" Chris asked.

And Chris was the one who wanted to play. Just a round was over and this guy is sleepy.

"Yeah. I'm tired, too!" I added.

Chris and Josh went to theirs rooms while Catherine and I started preparing to sleep.

Catherine's POV:

Moments after everyone slept, my phone's screen turned on.

Yes, I have a mobile phone with me. But, Josh, Chris and May aren't aware about this. Actually, I brought my mobile phone along, this time, when I went to my home during vacations.

I switched on the phone and reduced it's brightness to zero, so that May doesn't wake up because of the light. And of course, so that she doesn't get to know that I have a phone with me.

It was a message.

A message I wasn't expecting see.

The last time when I received a message from this person was an year and a half back.

It was Reece. My past! Well, it scares me till infinite to call him my past. It gives me insane goosebumps even when I think of the name 'Reece'.

I double tapped on the message and the screen opened.

Reece: Hey, Cath.
            Wanna meet up?

I didn't know what to reply.

I could feel my forehead sweating and my heart beating like African drums. Like, he wants to meet me? Why? The only reaction I could give out was to be blank.

He had a damn handsome profile picture! The picture showed Reece sitting on a stone, moving his hand through his hair and having a bad boy smirk.  It was his signature smirk. The killer one!

His status showed he is online.

I want to write a Yes to his meeting proposal, but I was so afraid.

Me: Hey, Reece.
       It's been a long time...

As I sent the message, it showed that Reece was typing.

Reece: Yeah. I know.
            Wanna meet up?

He asked again.

Me: Why? Lol.

Reece: Lol. Why do people meet?   of course, for random chitchat XD

Me: I mean... I wasn't expecting this..

Reece: you didn't even expect me to message. But I did. Better start expecting things, Cath.
Wanna meet?

Yes, he used to call me Cath. He used to say that Catherine is a really long name and also, Cath is a small and beautiful name, just like me. Also, The Cath Islands, it's a really pretty place. It is my hometown. So yes, the name 'Cath' has a lot of significance in my life.

My fingers were literally shivering by then. I didn't know what to reply.

I didn't reply for nearly two minutes.

After that he went offline.
I turned off my phone and hid it under the mattress.

I tried to sleep but it was just so impossible.

Yes, I did miss Reece but then...

Thinking about him, I didn't know when I fell asleep.

So fam, how was the Chapter? I'm sure you must be having a lot of questions about Catherine and Reece.

Do you think Catherine will meet Reece? And do you think the group will get to know about Catherine having a phone and also, meeting Reece?
