explanation :: to me the song really represented the struggles of performance and society, and that's what i wanted to convey through this graphic. at the start, i've set out a small monologue for my character to provide a preface (this is what they've been struggling with). the main graphic shows her sitting alone on a stage - and there doesn't seem to be an audience. she's reaching for the flowers below her but doesn't get to them, which shows how she's aiming for glory but never gets there. additionally, there are faint strings from above around her mask and hands, implying that she's not the one in control. yes, there are spotlights on her, but they represent the pressure she's facing both from the audience and herself. also, the graphic at the end is quite dark, because it shows that she's not fully illuminated yet. it suggests that the day where she's happy with herself and the stage is still yet to come.

explanation :: I listened to the song with captions on but still the mood had more impact on me than the message. I tried going the "underlying message" way for my graphic but then I thought I should go with the feel of the song instead. I chose the gun because of the battle part in the lyric which illustrates being on the frontline in a war against something. In my narrative, it's a war against your own thoughts. Your mind is complex enough to stand as its own drama. Like a drama, our thoughts are raw and chaotic, so I tried to interpret these characteristics into my graphic.

explanation :: I tried to create a new thriller storyline based off the prompts song, all the black text parts are lyrics that I mashed together to create an atmosphere and mood. My object as you probably already know was a box and thus I thought it would be kind of funny to make the object haunt her. I built up the abstract notion of the box almost leading the reader to believe it was referring to her home or life situation etc only to reveal it was an actual box (LOL) That's basically it!
