Soo Emi

Jungkook slips past the bouncer and the crowd of people waiting outside. He tightly holds my hand as we enter the castle-like building.

I didn't have time to enjoy my surroundings as we went inside. Jungkook seemed to be in a hurry to get me somewhere.

He brings me into an empty room and quickly closes the door behind him, making sure to be quiet with the hinges.

"What's wrong? Are we hiding from someone?" I ask.

"Paparazzi." He answers in a whisper. "Hoseok instructed me to keep you under wraps as much as possible."

I frown.

I shouldn't be seen at a party.

I shouldn't have come.

"You should be alright, though." He assures, gently touching my arm. "There's so many people here. If you keep your head low, you should be fine."

"Right." I nod. "H-Hey, Jungkook. Aren't you suppose to be with Taehyung on a trip somewhere?"

"Taehyung's here! We were on a small trip to Jeju Island, but we came back for this event. We like these types of parties."

"Oh."

There was an awkward pause before he spoke again.

"So, you actually came." He lets out a quiet laugh. "Hoseok found a way to convince you."

"I'm actually surprised myself, but here I am."

"Hoseok told me what was going on." He scratches his head. "Um. He didn't know for sure if you were coming or not."

"Well, this dress convinced me. I couldn't let this dress just sit on my bed with nothing to do."

"The dress is beautiful. And I hope you have a lot of fun too. You're going to make Hoseok fall over."

"Fall over?"

"You know, like, make him fall for you." He shyly smiles. "The glasses actually look really good with the dress."

"Re-Really?" I blush behind my hand. "You don't think it's a little weird?"

"Why would it be weird?" He looks at me with a head tilt. "Your glasses are beautiful! All glasses are beautiful."

"Hoseok said I looked better without them."

"Ah, Hoseok..." Jungkook slaps a hand over his forehead. "He still doesn't know how to give compliments, does he?"

I shake my head.

"Well, anyway," He lightly nudges my arm. "Hoseok is going to be amazed by your beauty. With or without your glasses."

"I'm flattered, but I'm not here to impress him. He said he wanted to apologize properly, so that's why I came. I'm going to hear him out, then leave without letting Namjoon see me."

"Hm? Why can't Namjoon see you?"

"I'm...technically working for him right now and I shouldn't be at a party without his permission." I nervously rub my arm. "D-Don't tell him, ok?"

"Ah, that's why he hesitated on coming." Jungkook laughs. "Don't worry, Emi, you have my word."

"Thanks!" I look towards the door. "Can I go out now?"

"Oh, right, sorry!" He rushes over and holds the door open for me. "Go get your man!"

I turn back to him and gave him a playful glare.

"....man's apology." He giggled.

He's adorable.

Honestly, all of Hoseok's friends are really great.

I wish he acted this way towards me.

I walk out the door and into the main party hall.

Seeing the chandeliers and the waiters walking around with food brought back some memories.

When my father took me to these types of parties, he wouldn't let me drink too much or dance with boys. Just talk and eat.

I was fine with that, though.

I walk forward, dodging dancing people and watching out for Namjoon. I scanned for Hoseok, but made sure I was getting a low profile.

I sneak past a large crowd and finally found him sitting on a red leather couch with a drink in his hand and girls all around him.

I hold my dress up and quickly approached him.

Once Hoseok saw me, his mouth formed an "O".

"Well, well, well, if isn't Soo Emi."

"Yes, here I am, but I'm here for one thing only."

"What? An apology?" He snickers. "Baby girl, you won't get that if you talk to me like that."

"But I didn't-"

"Why the rush? Don't you want this to last forever? Look around, you're at home." He slurs, motioning around him.

"A-Are you drunk?"

"Am I, beautiful? Those glasses work well." He laughs. "Do I look drunk to you, ladies?"

The girls around laughed and continued to stroke his chest.

I press my lips together, annoyed with the sight.

"Are you jealous? You keep staring." He tilts his head to the right and holds out his glass. "Or do you want my drink?"

I grimace. "No, thank you."

"Baby girl, come sit next to me." He pushes a girl over and patted the spot next to him. "Come on, right here...or do you prefer my lap?"

"I'm fine with standing."

"You look tired, though, baby girl."

"Hoseok, I only came here for one thing."

He licks his bottom lip. "And what would that be, gorgeous?"

"An apology. You said it in your letter."

He roughly hands a girl his glass and stands up. He glides over to me and wraps an arm around my waist.

"Ho-Hoseok?" I lean away from him, but his arm stayed firmly around my waist.

"Let's talk in private." He whispers in my ear before guiding us away and to another hallway.

He smelled like cologne and alcohol.

I hold a hand over my mouth.

He drags me to an empty room and pushes me in. I stumble inside, but made sure I didn't trip on my dress.

He closes and locks the door behind him, then faces me with his arms crossed.

"You actually came." He sighs, his tone not as slurred as before.

"You...You're not drunk?"

"It's a talent of mine I use to get away with not drinking. It works every time. I even fooled you, baby girl."

"St-Stop calling me that!" I stand up straight in attempt to appear more confident. "A-And, yes, I did come. I came for an apology."

"I promised that. I also promised the fun." He smirks.

"I just want the apology from you. I have no intention on staying at this party any longer to enjoy it."

He closes the distance between us in a second and holds a hand to my cheek. "You put on this dress, did your makeup, and got into a car with a stranger. You did all that and you don't want anything else?"

"I-I just did it for fun." I stammer, looking away from him.

"Yet, you refused to put on the contacts."

"Hoseok, I've told you before that I don't like them!"

"But it makes you look good."

"I don't care!"

He leans closer and I back away.

There was a wall behind me so I turned away. Heck to the no like I'm going to get trapped by Hoseok.

"I must know your body so well. I picked a dress that fits you like chocolate covering a strawberry." His eyes travel down my body.

"T-That's not cool, Hoseok." I

"It isn't? You're right. It's hot." He winks.

"Ok, that's it. This isn't worth it. I forgive you!"

"Really? Wow, I'm so good."

"Talking with you is so...weird! You always say the...weirdest things and it's so weird! It weirds me out!" I blabber on the way to the door. "I'm leaving now."

"You should come back and live with me." He shouts as I fumble with the diamond doorknob.

Dang, it's locked!

"No." I firmly state, still struggling with the lock.

After a good 5 seconds of looking like a fool in front of Hoseok, I finally manage to open the door and I storm out.

I should've known Hoseok was just messing with me.

I walk back into the crowd, hands in tight fists.

Forget it.

A waiter with a tray of wine glasses walk by and I impulsively grab one.

My father always told me to never have too much wine. Alcohol can make you do the craziest things.

A glass isn't too much.

I took a sip and joined the dancing crowd.
