Birth of the lost

A woman's scream could be heard echoing through the trees deep within the forest.

Man: Just a little bit more. You can do it.

Women: Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Man: One more.

Women: Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Man: It's a beautiful baby boy.

The child had a strange feeling to him. The mother looked towards her child and cradled in her love's arms and smiled. Soon after her eyes started to turn dark and cloudy. Seeing this man put the child down and rushed to check on his wife. She was dying fast and with no one with the life element around to help, he knew she wouldn't last long. Even if they were to go and find one, it would take hours to travel to a town.

Man: Hang in there I'll see what I can do.

The mother passes getting to see her baby boy. She didn't know his element and she didn't care. She loved him.

The man knowing the woman had passed, lied her head down on the soft moss of the forest floor. He turned to his child and picked him up. The child did not cry. The child stared back at his father.

As the boy grew, his power grew. This power grew larger and larger by the day. Soon his father started growing weak from illness caused by the boy's power. The boy's power was almost insane.

Man: Come here, son.

The boy ran up to his father. He was around the age of 18 now . In fact only a few days from turning 18.

Boy: What is it, father?

Man: I went into town today.

Boy: You did? Were you safe?

Man: Yes I was safe, there were nice ladies that helped me out but besides that , I got you something.

Boy: You didn't have to father.

The man pulled out of a small box containing some black gloves.

Boy: What are these?

Man: They're gloves.

The boy put them on his lap and looked at the ground getting slightly mad that his father bought him something instead of something to treat his illness.

Boy: You didn't have to get me these, you could have bought yourself some medicine.

The man looked at the boy's wrists. His veins were a bright blue. Almost glowing. He could tell at a single glance that his power from the element he was blessed with had made him like this.

The gloves he had bought his son weren't any old pair of gloves. They were gloves to seal enormous amount power. They costed a lot, alot more than the boy realized.

He knew that this was the best choice for his child. His illness was worse than his son would think. No modern day medical could help with it. The man previously went to a life element for help and all they could do is tell him his deadline.

He had a few years to live and he wanted to spend them with his son teaching him to be a man.

Time is funny sometimes. The man's illness took a turn for the worse and he died on his son's 19th birthday. Before he died he told his son certain things.

The man coughed up thick blood.

Boy: Father don't push yourself.

Man: Alexander my son come here.

Alexander: Father I'm here

Alexander ran to his father's bedside. He was afraid that his father would die, that he couldn't do anything to help and, that he couldn't accept the reality of what was going to happen.

Man: I have contacted my sister Lidia, you'll attend the college over where she lives.

The man hacked up more blood, covering the blankets on the bed with speckled droplets of blood .

Man: Be a good boy to her and do what she says, she can be quite mean sometimes.

Alexander: No father I won't, I won't leave you . ..... FATHER. FATHER.

Alexander sat and cried for a long time. His father had  died in his arms and he tried all he could to bring him back.

Alexander: If this won't work nothing will.

He tried his powers but with little control over them he disintegrated everything around them. Eventually, he was forced to give up.

He saw on what use to be the nightstand next to his father's corpse, the gloves he had bought for him a year ago. He grabbed them with tears in his eyes and put them on.

His power seemed to be stable with them on. He sat there for an hour or two thinking what he should do. Eventually, he decided to honor his father's last wish and go to the College.

He arrived at the base of the town.

Lidia: Hey. Are your my older brothers son?

Alexander: Are you Lidia?

Lidia: So you are, you both look the same, it's hard to believe that your really two different.

He looked confused.

Lidia: Just get in the dam carriage I'll take you to where you'll be living and working.

He gets in the carriage.

To be continued. ....
