The massive ship stops as the three of you face complete darkness through the window. The ship thunders as large energy blasters from the other ship fire upon it. The larger ship fires again and screaming is heard as a loud creak, then a boom echoes throughout the ship. Thor looks and Loki and Loki looks at you. All three of you rush back to the gathering area to see a large part of the ship pass by the gigantic window. "We're sitting ducks in here.." Loki muttered as piece after piece after piece gets detached from the ship and soon enough, the debris surrounds what's left of the ship. Near the back a brief beam of light is seen, and then the killing. Panic floods the room as Asgardians rush to try to get to safety, but there is nowhere left to go. Thor rushes forward but is held back, by some invisible source. You glance behind to see a large alien creature. "Watch ou-!" You warn, but it's too late. The alien knocks all three of you out in a heartbeat. 

  You gasp as you regain consciousness, finding yourself looking at the ceiling. You roll over carefully and look around. The Statesman is a complete wreck. Bodies of slain Asgardians lie scattered on the floor. Fire burns in small parts of the ship. Thor is lying to your left, facing up. His breaths are heavy and strained. You look in front of you to see Loki standing there, a few feet away. You make eye contact and he raises a finger to his lips, gesturing for you to stay quiet. 

  A tall slender alien approaches, stepping over the dead bodies. "Hear me, and rejoice. You have had the privilege of being saved by the Great Titan. You may think it is suffering...no. It is salvation. The universal scales tip toward balance, because of your sacrifice." You watch as another alien stabs a lingering Asgardian. You cover your mouth in effort to silence your panicked breathing. The slender alien continues. "For even in death, you have become children of Thanos. Smile." 

  You turn your head slightly to see a tall, bulking figure facing the window. "I know what it's like to lose. To feel so desperately that you're right...yet to fail, nonetheless." He turns and you turn your head back before he sees. He lifts Thor up with one hand by the neck of his breastplate, and you hear Thor struggle as he chokes for air. "It's frightening." The titan you assume is Thanos continues. "Turns the legs to jelly. I ask you, to what end? Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same. And now...it's here. Or should I say...I am." Thanos lifts a hand, revealing a gauntlet with a glowing purple stone in it. There were five other indents in the gauntlet, possibly for five other stones. Thanos moves to grab Thor by his head, while Thor still struggles, blood dripping from his mouth. "You talk too much.." Thor manages to say. 

  Thanos turns his attention to Loki. "The Tesseract. Or your brother's head. I assume you have a preference." He says. The four aliens behind Loki lift their weapons, in case he tries to run away. Loki glances at you for a fraction of a second. Your pleading gaze tells him to do the right thing. Loki fixes his gaze back on Thanos, his cool demeanor ever-present. "Oh I do. Kill away." Loki says. Your eyes dart to him, and the look he gives back to you has all the answers. The fate of the universe depends on these stones. If he gets them all, half the universe dies. You watch as Thanos presses the stone in his gauntlet against Thor's head. Thor screams in pain. You watch Loki's cool demeanor shatter almost immediately as he saw Thor suffer. Thanos presses the stone harder into Thor's skull. Loki tries to keep the facade up, but to no avail. He can't take it. "ALL RIGHT STOP!" Loki yells. Thanos pulls his hand away.

  "We don't have the Tesseract. It was destroyed on Asgard," Thor says weakly. Loki glances at Thor. Then at you. You'd know that look anywhere. Loki raises his right hand and the Tesseract appears in his grasp. "You really are the worst, brother." Thor says. Loki nods and approaches Thanos, the Tesseract in hand. "I assure you brother, the sun will shine on us again." Loki says, giving you another glance. Thanos looks down at Loki. "Your optimism is misplaced, Asgardian." He says calmly. Loki takes a step back. "Well for one thing, I'm not Asgardian. And for another...we have a Hulk." Loki says and jumps out of the way as the Hulk attacks Thanos. 

  The aliens are distracted as they watch Thanos and the Hulk fight it out. You take the opportunity and run to Loki, kissing him deeply. "H-how are we gonna get out of this..?" You ask him, your voice shaking. "It's alright, we'll make it out, somehow," He caresses a hand against your cheek reassuringly. You nod and stand close behind him, not letting go of his arm. You see Thanos beat the Hulk and throw him down. Thor attempts to inflict damage by hitting Thanos with a metal rod, but to no avail. Large metal scraps wrap around Thor, securing him to the ground in a kneeling position.

  You catch a glimpse of movement and see Heimdall reaching for his sword. His mouth is moving, but you're too far away to hear what he is saying. Suddenly, the Bifrost is summoned and the Hulk is carried away. Thanos looks over at Heimdall and towers over him. "That was a mistake." Thanos says, taking one of the aliens' glaive and planting it in Heimdall's heart, twisting it for good measure. You cover your mouth in horror and Loki pushes you behind him as if to shield you from the sight.

  "NO!!" Thor screams, tears spilling over his cheeks. "You're going to die for that!" Suddenly his mouth is covered with a piece of metal. "Shh," The slender alien raised a finger to his lips. He walks over and grabs the Tesseract, kneeling down before Thanos and offering up the Tesseract to him. "My humble personage, bows before your grandeur. No other being has ever had the might, nay the nobility, to wield not one, but two Infinity Stones. The universe lies within your grasp." Thanos takes the Tesseract from the slender alien and crushes it, revealing a small blue stone. He places it in his gauntlet and inhales deeply as the power surges through his veins. 

  "There are two more Stones on Earth. Find them, my children, and bring them to me on Titan." Thanos says, facing the four aliens. All four bow down. "Father, we will not fail you." They say in unison. "I have to stop him.." Loki mutters. You grab his hand. "No it's too dangerous, you saw how easily he beat Bruce," You whisper, trying to talk some sense into him. "Millions of lives are at stake," Loki whispers, squeezing your hand gently. "Including yours," He says, nodding and stepping forward.
