Chapter Thirty-Two

Everything I've never done, I want to do it with you.

~Pintrest~

Mia

The sun woke me up. And the first thing I realized was Romano wasn't beside me. The joy of gazing at the ray of sun sneaking through the window was a different kind of feeling. I was happy. I was sure of it. My heart remembered words Romano had said, things he had done to me. I felt loved, if not in my heart, then my body must have felt it.

Dragging myself out of bed, I stood in the middle of it, moving my eyes around and settling them on the walk-in closet. It was big and also full of Rom's clothes. Mostly suits, white shirts, and a few casuals. The shoes ranged from formal wear, boots, loafers, and sneakers, but of course, there were others in between.

The magnitude of how much Rom was worth was beginning to hit me. No ordinary man could afford a private jet, a pilot, and a helicopter.

I was so wrapped up in him. I ignored the signs. I knew the kind of man he was before walking into his life. He didn't force me. I went to him willingly, so I knew pretending otherwise was hypocritical and unfair to him.

He was the man I loved. Whatever kind of man he was, my heart will forever love him. No other man came this close.

He had unpacked for me. I found my tops, jeans, and two dinner dresses in the last part of the closet. My three pairs of shoes placed on their compartment.

I wanted to wear a blue pair of jeans and one of his white shirts. He had so many I was sure he wouldn't mind if I borrowed one. I always wanted to wear my guy's shirt. It is one of my fantasies.

I sang in the shower, something I've never done before but more surprising was the song I sang. It was the same sad song I head in a cafe in London. I decided that will be one of the stories I trade with Romano's.

I dressed up and decided to go search for him, but I found he wasn't alone. I should have called before coming down. Now it was too late to hide because they had seen me.

The three of them were seated at the dining room drinking whiskey. I remembered Raphael, the beautiful man with cold eyes, but the older man wearing a collar was unfamiliar. I figured he was probably a fake priest, one of those professional scammers.

"Bella," Bruno announced, coming from what I assumed was the kitchen. His plate was full, and so was his mouth. I nodded in acknowledgment, then moved my eyes to Romano for direction. But then the older man stood up, walked a few steps towards me, and in a baritone voice said, "You must be Ameria" I nodded, quite unsure of what do next after he took both of my hands in his.

"Her name is Mia; I head Romano says, the man smiled gently, still holding my hand. Strangely, I didn't mind even though he had done it without permission. Something was comforting about him. Maybe it was in his reassuring smile, or how welcoming he seemed. He was the only one in Romano's world who didn't intimidate me. The rest did, even Bruno, with his charming smile.

We stood in full view of the others; I could feel their eyes on us. I'm father Jose. The surprise on my face must have been visible because everyone laughed.

"She thought you were fake." I heard Bruno say. "I keep telling you to stop this habit of fraternizing with us, now you see, people think you're fake." I knew he said it in jest, but I couldn't stop the flush of embarrassment on my face, neither could I stop the litany of apologies.

"Its okay, Ameria." He consoled, pulling my hand towards the seat next to him.

"Mia, its good to see you again," Raphael said, handing me a glass of whiskey which was grabbed from his hand in a speed of light by Rom.

"She's never tasted it." There was a knowing look on Raphael, which Rom choose to ignore and one I did not understand. I would have drunk it because it would have been rude to say no. But I was glad I didn't have to.

"Now, how do you find your stay in Italy?" Father Jose asked, filling a cup of coffee for me. I was hungry, famished, but I didn't say it. "Today is my first day." "I say shyly. It did not escape my notice that Romano had said no word to me since I came down. He just sat there and stared at me.

Father Jose suddenly shifted his eyes and attention from me. Staring down at the guys, he apologized for not giving me enough time to rest. "It's okay," I assured him. In return, he gave me a charming smile. Were he not a priest, this man would have been a knockout in his youth.

"You really did follow them, didn't you?"

Romano childishly smirked at them. The way a younger sibling does when the parents are reprimanding the older one. There was a boy in every man; I thought as I looked at him. He winked at me, and like expected, I blushed.

"We will leave you to rest," The priest said, getting up to leave.

"Please make sure Romano brings you for a visit before you leave." He said, kissing both of my cheeks. He walked calmly, stopping to give Rom a pat on the shoulder.

Watching the three of them walk out, I let out a loud of breath I didn't know I was holding.

"You did well, Bella Mia." I felt pride in those words, but I was mad at him. "How could you not tell me you had visitors" He kneeled beside me, palming my face "Good morning, Baby."

"I'm mad at you," I whispered, trying to pull my hands from his grasp, but he wouldn't let me.

"I know," he said, kissing my forehead.

"Is there something to eat around here, or did Bruno eat it all?" He laughed, but it wasn't funny, I meant it.

"There is a standing joke in our family that Bruno eats too much."

Before I could find something to say, he hoisted me over his shoulder, then placed his hand on my bum before giving it two pats.

"What are you doing?" I asked in an appalled voice. "Taking you to the kitchen." He chose to ignore what I meant. "I could walk."

"You've said that before." He was infuriating. But he smelled so good I wanted to kiss his neck.

"You said the racing magazines on the jet belong to Bruno. Does he race."

"For fun, yes. Professionally, no. Why?"

"I was wondering if you could take me to a race track,"

"Do you race?" There was a surprise in his voice.

"No, but it's one of my fantasy adventures."

"I will, in return, of that adventure list."

"Its a deal, "I screeched happily, finally yielding and kissing his neck.

It was perfect.
