Chapter Twenty

People who complain this is so slow, jesus people I am a grandma, I like going slow, they aren't going to jump into bed the first second, Read Pleasuring Her if you want that.

"Do I get to change at least?" I asked as I looked at the cards turning them in my hand. They were fake IDs, either Ivan forgot that there were fingerprint and eye scanners there or he chose to ignore it.

"Well the bomb will blow in two hours, did you want to change?" asked Brekov that was my driver. I swore, that was hardly enough time. It was a half hour drive to the location.

"Go faster," I snapped looking at my phone and at all the missed calls and text messages, the party started in another hour, Alex was going to send out a search party if I didn't show up. I switched of the phone and placed it in the back seat as I prepared the plan.

It was going to be hard, I hadn't deactivated a bomb in ages. And it was German. I had a feeling it would be a world war two bomb, or something similar.

I closed my eyes trying to remember how to defuse it, come on Isandra, how do you defuse a bomb. Tell me it was as simple as a switch. If it was wires I was screwed, I can't even remember the colours. There was always cutting the three unlabelled wires that would defuse the bomb but they would need to be cut in the correct sequence.

It was primer and then the reactor and then the Ignition, or was it the other way around. Damn it think Isandra. And think I did.

Rocking up to the party tonight wasn't going to be fun, rocking up covered in blood was worse. So thank god I took the whole night and ended up going back to the headquarters where we were staying at.

"Damn it," I muttered creaking the door opening and peeking through the corridor, thank god people were asleep. I can imagine Alex's anger at me skipping the event, and that would probably just get worse when he sees me like this. My gown was covered in blood, well more the bottom half was soaked and there was a long tear up to my knees.

And this was exactly why I hated wearing shit like this.

I grumbled hobbling down the corridor, please let me have the right room. The door to my room was locked, and I had no idea how that happened or where on earth my key pass was. Greyguard and Alex should have a spare one with access too all the doors but there was no way I was knocking on greyguards door.

"Alex," I whisper yelled tapping on his door. Why on earth did I have a heavy sleeper for a brother?

I knocked a bit louder shifting on my feet, I needed to pee. Perfect timing mother nature.

I heard footsteps and swore turning around, what was I going to do. I can pretend to be a part of the wall, I mean it was pitch dark and wearing white was not helping. So I did the only normal thing someone would do, or maybe not, and crouched in a ball in the corner of the door.

"Don't see me, don't see me," I muttered and realized I was making noises and shut up. There were hurried footsteps, too hurried to be normal and I couldn't help look up.

"Jax?"

He seemed to have more of a heart attack than me jumping on his spot looking around and I laughed standing up.

"Isandra?"

"What are you doing here?"

"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" he said hiding something behind him. I gave him a curious stare, what was he hiding.

"What's that?" I asked trying to look over his shoulder.

"Why are you here?"

"Alex, I need Alex," I muttered. Jax nodded walking around me to the door on the end, "Come, I can page him up, he's on duty,"

I walked down quickly trying not to trip over this stupid gown. He opened the door and light flooded into the corridor making me shield my eyes but not my ears so I could hear the colourful curse that escaped the princes's mouth.

"Wow language," I muttered blinking and taking my hand off, what did he see a rat? Or not, since I wasn't a rat and he was staring right at me.

He looked at me speechless his mouth half open and I heard more footsteps. Oh shit.

I shoved him into the room and slammed the door quickly, "Shh," I told him not wanting anyone to see me. I really didn't need the extra questions at the moment.

"That was close," I said muttering as I walked into the room. So this was what a royal chamber looked like, I thought as I looked around, it was very boring?

It was big, oh but there was just empty space apart from the bed in the middle and what I think was probably a spectacular view if the curtains were opened.

"Why are you covered in blood?"

I looked over my shoulder to see Jax still staring at me curiously. I looked down and realised I was probably staining the red carpet with even more red, if you could see it in the first place.

"Oh, um this is wine, I spilled wine?"

His green eyes flickered up to mine and I looked away, okay maybe that was a see through lie but a girl had to try right?

"I know the difference between wine and blood,"

I felt him walk around me and then walked over to the bed sitting down. Then why did you ask? Oh wait, he didn't.

"Well I was busy," I muttered waving a hand, "And therefore can you page Alex up, I would like to change out of this, stickiness?"

Jax stared at me, for another minute before he nodded and leaned over to the bedside cabinet on the other side to grab something.

I frowned as I looked at him, even when it was past midnight he was wearing dress suits and a button up shirt, was that uncomfortable or something?

"You can sit down," he said sitting up straight and pressing some numbers into a pager.

Who still has those?

I looked around at all the white chairs and winces, I'd pass, it was like I was on my period and didn't want to wear white, except this wasn't my blood, it was someone elses. trust me to fall straight into a gashed stomach and then get stuck.

I shuddered just thinking at the memory, that was horrible.

"Did you connect or page him?" I asked shifting on my feet. He nodded.

"So what were you doing, what are you hiding future king?"

"Don't call me that," he said scrunching his nose.

"What king?"

"I'm not one yet,"

I shrugged, "Okay prince,"

"Not that either,"

"Jesus what do I call you?" I snapped and realized again I was overstepping the boundaries of a guard and a royal member. Alex would skin me alive if he heard I was speaking like this again.

"Jax, you call me Jax,"

"Fine Jax, what were you doing?" I asked extremely curious to what the prince was up to. I walked over and leaned against the bed rest slipping my ankle boots off and sighing, ah that felt good. Jax raised an eyebrow, no doubt judging the shoes and I rolled my eyes at him.

"So?" I asked.

He pulled something out of his pocket and put it between us and I laughed, "Seriously?"

He shrugged, "I needed fresh air and the last thing I need is for a dozen men to follow me,"

I shook my head grabbing the security guard and turning it over in my hands, "Where did you get it?"

"You dropped it in the corridor," he said as I looked at my picture grimacing. Did I even want to know what he was doing in the corridor. At least he found my key card I could finally change.

"Well then no need for Alex, thanks," I said raising the card and picked up my shoes. I turned around to go when he called me back.

"Wait,"

"Yea?" I said looking around. Did he want another tour with my car or something? No way I was going to be blamed if something happened.

"Stay for a while,"

"What?"
