Chapter Thrity-One

"Is it done?"

I looked at Daniel as he came down the stairs, he went up to check on Michael who had woken up and decided he was going to work upstairs in his office.

 I raised an eyebrow.

"You put it in before you left, two minutes, ago, what do you think?" I was leaning against the counter behind me as I was sitting on the ground my legs kicked out in front of me, bored.

"I still don't know why we cant get delivery,"

I smacked his head as he grunted, "Because pizza delivery gives away our hiding place you baboon," I snapped looking at the pizzas in the oven. This genius couldn't cook, lasagna, he wanted to make lasagna.

What was he an Italian chef and damn was I hungry and angry because I was hungry.

He made such a huge mess that I had to clean up because he was so immature.

He frowned resting his jaw on his hand that rested on his leg, he just looked like a little kid that was told Santa wasn't real, which was a lie, he was real.

I sighed looking at my hands, I wondered what Alex was doing. Was he on another mission? Was he safe? I hadn't seen his face in so long that it was starting to hurt.

Stupid Daniel, Idiotic Daniel why did he ask me all those questions like he cared. Hell why did I even tell him, I should have told him to shove those questions up his arse like I tell everyone else, but I told him.

"How many missions have you done?" he suddenly asked as I paused playing with my fingers, what?

"A lot,"

"Yea but how many,"

I looked at him, "A lot,"

"Okay I get it, arsehole Isandra is back," he said putting his hands up in defense. I rolled my eyes trying not to smile again, this guy made a big deal even if I sneezed, "I am always an arsehole, don't forget that,"

He smiled shaking his head laughing and moved so he was sitting next to me, leaning against the counter behind us and spread out his legs like I did, his being longer and reached the other side, I envied the tall.

His shoulder nudged my shoulder and I moved away, human contact, no.

"I'll confess, I have a weakness for arseholes," he grimaced, "Okay that did not come out the way I meant,"

I frowned and then realised what he said and laughed, it was so wrong but so right. He was watching me with a strange expression and I stopped laughing, right don't do that in front of this guy. He didn't have to open his mouth for me to know what he was thinking, he just had to look and I did.

God talk about something else.

"So I could eat a horse and a horse's mother right now," it was like he read my mind.

But I agreed, I was starving.

"Do you have a tattoo?"

"What?" I turned my head to look at him.

"Do you?"

"Well do you?" I asked, what type of question was that, this guy did 180's faster than a math's student measuring semi-circles.

"Yes, want to see,"

"No," I said looking back at the oven.

"Is that a no, I don't have one or no I don't want to see, it's a sexy tattoo, are you sure?"

"What do you think?"

He pondered looking at the oven before back at me, I could feel his gaze, "I think it's a no, you don't have a tattoo," before I could ask him why he thought that he continued, "You might be the bad ass Isandra everyone is afraid off," I smiled, they were? "But I don't think you have a tattoo, and of course, its a yes I want to see your damn sexy tattoo Daniel, and you would beg to see it,"

"You're an idiot,"

"I know," he nodded truthfully and I bit back a smile, something about him. There was a sound outside, so small but my ears picked it up.

"What?" he asked noticing my posture change, "Stay inside, go upstairs and keep an eye on Michael,"

"What where are you going?"

"There's someone outside," I said, and the second click made it confirm.

"How did you hear-never mind, I think I should go,"

I raised an eyebrow as I reached back to make sure my gun was under my top, it was.

"That's very sexist but I don't think you realize what my profession is Daniel, get upstairs," he didn't;t argue, he nodded and hurried off. I looked through the glass window, it was raining, it could be hail, or even a leaf, but it wasn't.

Someone was on our roof.

Finally some action. My muscles cried in joy as I went outside climbing the window, hoisting myself up with very little sound.

I could see a figure, it was nearly night and he was an idiot to come before sunset. He was creeping to the other side, like hew as going to peer down and see something, too bad he didn't see me.

"So how are you today? Cold isn't it,"

He spun around but my gun was already ready pointing to his head, "Hi, nice to meet you," before my silencer clipped on and I shot him. I caught his body before it fell, he was heavy. I lowered myself onto the window and chucked him to the ground, he was too heavy and I was not his baby sitter to carry him.

I jumped down, pausing for a moment, listening to make sure there was no one else.

None, he was also an idiot for coming by himself.

I opened the door pulling the body inside and then closed it, double locked it and pulled all the blinds down making sure I did it to all the lower rooms, windows, curtains and walked back looking down at the body.

Thank the lord the floor was tiles, or else I would hate cleaning up the blood that was coming out from the hole in the middle of his forehead.

I bent down running my hands over, pulling out whatever I found in his pockets. I heard footsteps as Daniel came back down.

"Are you okay are you hu-," he stopped seeing that the blood was't mine. He stood on the other side of the body.

"You killed him," I could see disbelief in his eyes. Sure I was only gone for less than a minute, but that's what I did. I did it fast, quickly before you even realized what I did.

Other people might keep him to interrogate him, but there was no point, who knew if he was telling the truth or lying, or he could escape. I didn't waste time.

"That's what I do Daniel, I kill people," I stood up taking all the things I found on him to investigate it. Daniel cleared his throat, he somehow looked uncomfortable at the sight of blood.

"So I'll call you when the pizzas are done?" his eyes were still on the body. I walked past him when I felt him about to grab my hand, the air around it moved and I moved my hand away making him grasp thin air.

"It would be wise to keep away from me,"

*

 "Can't sleep?"

That voice didn't make me jump even though I was sitting on my bed looking out the window, I heard him move across the room.

"I'm watching guard," I lied, I couldn't sleep. Every time I closed my eyes something always was there, it was blood, enemies, family or more memories I didn't want to re-live.

Nik sat next to me sighing, "That must be fun, watching me sleep,"

"No it's fun, you talk in your sleep," I said smiling. Nik nudged his shoulder against mine, "Liar, I do not sleep talk, I sleep walk,"

I chuckled shaking my head, "And go back to bed, don't you have class tomorrow?"

He groaned, "You're not coming?"

"Of course I am," but really I didn't, I don't think Uni life was suiting me, first I get hit, the bruise was still really ugly, and then i get drugged, maybe Alex did know better than me.

"Okay fine, but only cause I'm afraid you will shoot me," I rolled my eyes getting up, "I'll guard outside, need me call me,"

He nodded and I grabbed a jumper off the bed pulling it on as I stepped outside, the corridor was quiet and it was just what I needed, just me. I leaned back against the door closing my eyes, I wonder what Alex was doing? What time was it over there for him? Was Catherina dead yet?

That brought a smile to my face, seeing her body hang. No Isandra, bad girl.

"What are you smiling about?"

My body froze.

"Not you," I said opening my eyes, Eden huffed rocking back on his heels, "Yea same feeling,"

"Why are you up?"  my curiosity picking up, I didn't trust this guy. Was his room even on this level? No, so why was he walking around near his room.

"Let's go for a walk,"

"I can't I'm-," I couldn't say what I was doing, Oh yes Eden I'm guarding a prince's cousin's room.

"You can think outside too, I'm awake, you're awake, we can walk, unless you have something better to do, and I need your help getting stuff so let's go"

I grunted, "Fine,"

Nik was sleeping, I had my phone on me, my gun was inside.

"Let me just get a jumper," I turned around.

"Another one?"

Crap I was already wearing one, "I,-"

"I'll give you mine if you get even colder, come on," His hand grabbed my arm pulling me and I shrugged him off, what was with these people and the need to touch. I slipped my hands into my back pocket, no hanging hands, no one can grab them.

"How are you finding Uni?"

I raised an eyebrow as he led me to the car park, "Seriously?" was he really small talking with me?

He shrugged, "I hate it," I muttered, I had tried so hard to love it but I was hating it.

"Is it cause of your bruise?"

I winced, "Who threw that ball?"

"I did,"

Oh perfect, he was hovering near Nik's room, his is suspicious and he has an amaz-average arm that made me bruise.

"I don't remember you apologizing," I sad as I saw a red car.

"I didn't," he pulled out his keys unlocking it and I raised an eyebrow as he told me to get in.

I couldn't leave campus.

"Where are we going?"

"Airport, again, get in,"

Airport, why the hell were we going to the airport?

I checked my phone, nothing from Nik, I was going to be screwed if there was an attack or a kidnapping happening tonight, but I couldn't let my guard off, especially to Eden.

I still had to figure him out.

"Do you have a tattoo?"

I paused, "What did you just say?"

"The boys and I have a wager, do you?"

"You all placed a bet on me?" he shrugged turning the car along the curve.

"Do you?"

"Shove the wager up your arse's,"

He laughed but said nothing for the rest of the ride, good because I was irritated, they were placing money on me? I bet they won't place money on me when I don't save their lives. Idiots.

The rest of the ride was just me fuming in my seat, it was a quick ride, "I don't get why we are here?" I said as he parked the car illegally getting out.

"Picking someone up,"

"Yea who?" it didn't seem so warm inside and I shrugged my jumper off tying it around my waist, going in the middle of the night to pick someone up? You had to be kidding me.

 "I could be sleeping,"

"But you weren't, I was going to ask Nik but you were there,"

I rolled my eyes, sure you did. He came to a sudden stop and I maneuvered quickly to maintain my balance and not touch him, not even come in close contact, no just no.

"So who are we-,"

That's who we came for. I watched as he came down the escalator, dress in blue jeans and a red jumper, he looked so...ordinary, not like the prince I knew, not in uncomfortable clothes, but jeans.

He saw Eden and smiled as Eden met him half way giving each other a 'man hug,'

I met his eyes and he gave me a strained smile, well seeing how I had left, I deserved that, it was better that way.

He was a prince that wasn't willing to give up his fiancee, and I was a guard that didn't want anything to do with men. It was perfect.

"Isandra,"

"J-Hi," I nodded. Eden looked between us nodding and headed towards the car, there was no "You guys know each other?" which I found strange.

"So how are you?" he caught up quickly to my fast pace.

"Perfect till now," distance Isandra, maintain your distance. He faltered and I walked to the car opening the back seat, let the boys bond and I was going to sleep. I knew he was going to come to Uni, they told me that, but this quickly?

It hadn't even been a week and I still had a bruise damn it, oh who cared about bruises.

"You getting in?"

I looked at Eden was standing on the other side. Oh right. But before I could get in my window shattered and I was shoved to the ground. Shit

"What was that!"

The adrenaline rushed through my body, habit, as I jumped up reaching for my gun that was't there, screw Eden, but before I knew it I was against the car, Jax was shoved in the car and Eden was in front of me holding a gun.

A fuc*king gun
