Chapter Sixteen

"I forgot how much I hate it here," I muttered sitting down at breakfast. We were currently staying at the best academy a royal can roam around and trust that nothing would get happen, the academy I grew up at, where all assassins were pretty much trained.

Alex sat down in front of me his plate piled high with bacon and eggs, "What?" He asked catching my stare. I sighed shaking my head and biting my toast. I had no idea how he could eat so much, that would put me straight to sleep.

I hated it here because well, there, the noise was coming as the whole cafeteria dining area was filled with screaming girls, rowdy boys and other people staring at the new comers, or well really old comers who were back.

"What's the plan for today?" I asked grabbing my glass of juice. Alex's eyes were behind me on the elders table, which meant he was still in guard mode looking out at the royals as they sat there. I rolled my eyes, we were in a room full of perfection, what could possible go wrong?

"Um, I think they're attending a volunteering event," he said. I nodded earning back in my chair finished. Just watching Alex made me sick. How could he eat so much and still be fit. Like he read my mind he looked up and smiled flashing me with a mouth full of eggs and I wrinkled my nose chucking my napkin at him.

"You're disgusting." I muttered leaning back patting my stomach.

"I'm so suave," I said flicking my hair out of my face and putting on my sun glasses. I heard Alex chuckle from beside me shaking his head.

"Do you know what it even means?" he asked.

I raised an eyebrow, "Eh duh no," I snapped, it sounded cool. It was boiling here and the humidity didn't help either. Yesterday it was snowing and now it was boiling, just because we went to the other side of the country, the weather shouldn't be this different.

It didn't help that I was wearing black slacks that stuck to me like yoga pants, thankfully not like jeans, these were smooth and made me move, but I did hate how they had a little flair at the end, what if I tripped over it?

The top was simple and airy, a green mentally scarring shirt with checkered rectangles everywhere that I tied into a knot and buttoned, it was the only top I could find that I kept in my room at the academy. Don't judge, I was an arty kid back then hence my top and by the look Alex was giving me, it was pretty bad.

"What?" I asked and he looked away waiting for the royals to get out of the car. The moment Jax stepped out I couldn't help but frown. Was I meant to be happy or sad that now I was protecting him instead, and what exactly was his role in my 'new' job replacement, he better not have tattle tailed on me.

But then of course he would have, it was the future queen or some random bodyguard.

I heard the door slam bringing me back to the present and I caught Alex's hair tie nodding at him. I followed after the King ting up hair in a high pony tail. Ah doesn't that feel nice, no hair touching our neck making it even hotter than it was.

It was like we were in the middle of the desert which was stupid, but all the barren land made me feel more on alert. Why on earth was there a soup kitchen all the way out here. But boy was I wrong when I stepped in to realize the whole place was packed, with people squished onto the seats.

"Alright you take outside," said Alex. I rolled my eyes turning around heading back out the door, right did he think keeping me outside would keep me out of trouble? It probably did.

"Isandra!," I looked up to see Demetri and smiled as he stood guard with me, he spoke to me in Russian and I answered back. I had missed him, he was in my class while we graduated, he was originally from Romania but decided to settle in Russia.

"I'm doing great," I replied to him as we broke from idle chatter to staring around. All I could practically see was the Limo and the dust behind it, like some tsunami coming towards us.

"Is it always this windy?" I asked Demetri in Russian. He replied saying before a storm.

That meant we had to wrap this up quickly. With a storm it would be harder to see and protect the family. I peeked in from the door and saw everyone dishing out plates of amazing looking food and some people stopped to talk to the royal family.

Kill me not, but wasn't it slightly unfair that they were royalty and got treated like that. Everywhere they went, photos and autographs were required, they were popular and people killed to be them. But what about us commoners, sure being a royal sucked since you could do nothing, give up everythin but at the same time all that fame and power. Wow. It's not fair royals still existed or was that my green ogre knocking at the door.

"Isandra?"

I looked over the shoulder to see the King calling for me. I walked over taking my sunglasses off.

"Yes?"

He was standing in a corner with Alex beside him watching over, not any other guard. I walked up to him and he placed something in my hands, swiftly and quickly.

I kept my eyes up but according to the feel, it was paper.

"I want you to check this out personally, I don't trust the rest,"

I nodded. I turned around taking my sunglasses to put them back on and met Xavier's gaze as he was busy serving bread. Turning my head away quickly I stepped outside and stopped taking out the sheet reading the address.

I recognized the address immediately, it was an old warehouse. Looking back at the building behind me I walked over to the guards who were outside.

"I need a bike," I said, I saw one of them shoot me a glace and I raised an eyebrow, would he dare defy me?

It was a solid hour ride when I got to the place and I parked far away making sure the noise wouldn't give me away. I got off taking off the helmet and sighing, that was one long tiring ride. I could feel all my lower part pull in agony, I hated sitting down for that long.

Tightening my pony tail I walked up to the fence. It was old and thankfully had no spikes or electricity. I hoisted myself up quickly climbing over and dropping down wincing as the fence rattled. I fastened my pace, good chance who ever inside heard that which meant I had to hurry my pace.

The back door was open, what idiots I thought stepping in. It was warehouse that was full of old boxes, I could see the dust in the air floating. If I had asthma I would be having some type of seizure looking at the place. Dust was literally in hand fulls sitting on top of things.

I heard footsteps and quietly followed them reaching for the gun I had hidden away. I heard light whispering in Russia and smiled, bingo. I clicked the safety on purpose, making the echoic noise around the empty place and all the chatter subsided. The sun was setting faster which meant it was slowly starting to get darker.

"Who is there?" asked a deep thick voice filled with accent. I cornered around the last box stepping into the view of two men. One was big and heavy like a ape, which meant he probably moved slow, or was a bodyguard while the other one was puny, shorter than me and I was damn short.

"Me," I said. I took of my sunglasses flipping it around and tucking it in the back of my pants and raised an eyebrow recognizing one of them, but he didn't recognize me, and if he did, he didn't say.

"Jones,"

Oh wait he did say.

"Hey Burly, I thought you quit," i said looking at the big man who looked at me sheepishly and then stood up straighter all awkwardness as his boss shot him a look.

"So what's going on over here," I said looking around spinning my gun around, which was a bad idea since the safety was off.

"We're planning to kidnap the prince, do you want to-" the smaller man hit the other guy across the head.

"Don't tell her you fool, you're all body and no brains,"

I smiled shaking my head, Burly hadn't changed one bit.

"You know big man," I said in a scathing tone sitting done on one of the cartons, "I'll be watching the prince all this trip, if I see you anywhere near him, or his family hell in a ten mile radius," I said knowing that would be impossible, "I will get you a extra small sized coffin, how does that sound?" I asked.

He growled at me like he was some animal clenching his puny fists, "I am in a ten mile radius now you filthy b-"

I stood up swiftly landing a punch on his face. He took a step back spluttering holding his nose.

"Oh I forgot, introductions, puny man meet, COMA," I said holding up my hand, an inside joke, meaning he spoke another word my hand will punch him into a COMA.

"And COMA doesn't like swear words," I said. Wasting bullets against this guy was useless, especially since Burly woudln't even try anything against me.

"You fat baboon what are you doing," he snapped. Burly looked at me and then back at his boss and I rolled my eyes.

Seeing nothing was happening puny man resigned his hands in defeat.

"Good get me?" I asked. Burly nodded his head so fast I could see more than one and puny gave me one sharp nod.

"Good, now scram before I change my mind," I said turning around. I started to walk when I heard something cut through the air and I turned around just in time to dodge a blade just missing my eyes but managing to cut my cheek. Damn it I was rusty.

I grabbed the hand again raising my knee into his stomach making him groan and drop the blade.

"Never aim for my eyes you dick," I snapped twisting his arm around and kneeing him making him drop to the ground.

I looked at Burly who was just staring, he was probably not expecting this, "You wouldn't have handcuffs on you, would you?"

A good half hour later, since there were no handcuffs I had to wait holding onto the back of his hands and now my hand were slipper of sweat, gross, the police finally showed up and I made sure the guy was in the car before I decided to leave.

"What about this guy?" asked Officer Rakov, a man I knew too well.

"Nah big boy's with me," I said patting Burly's shoulder making him wince. Rakov raised an eyebrow but said nothing as he nodded walking away.

"Let's go," I said walking and grabbing my sunglasses, thankfully I hadn't damaged them or else I would be dead, they were Alex's after all.

"Come on," I said when Burly didn't move. He hurried faulting in his step and it must look funny to the other police, a gorilla following me.

"I'll give you a ride," I said as I walked around the fence, I would have jumped over but there were other people, so maybe not today. Burly nodded walking behind me as I got on moving so he had space. He just managed to fit sliding his hands around my waist.

"Where to Burls?" I asked.

After dropping him off at this small apartment he lived, now I knew why he got back to the job, he had to make some money, I gave him the number of a bank that needed security. At least that way he could put his physique to use, a job well suited for him, as long as he didn't steal because if he did even I couldn't help him, I left him with my number, a kiss on the cheek and a damn strong warning.

So by the time I got back to the academy it was even later and like always Alex was pacing the entrance as I walked in.

"Wh-" he opened his mouth and I held up the sunglasses.

"Don't worry, they're safe," I said winking as I chucking him the keys for the bike, hell no, I was keeping these sunglasses.

Not wanting to get some lecture or answer any questions I needed to see the king, but it was far too late, I guess it would have to wait for the morning.

I took the first turn quickly escape my brother only to come face to face with Xavier, and I just managed to stop before crashing into him
