These are the preferred weapons of Moana and Kea.

Moana uses the Tewhatewha (right). Though it appears to be used as one would an axe it is not. Instead the back of the blade-shaped end is used to strike an enemy. As well as the pointed end (to stab).
(This was a weapon used only by Chiefs and its primary use was to lead in battle rather than fight with, though it proved to be deadly if used as such).

Kea uses the Taiaha (left). It has a pointed end that is also used to stab. At the other end is a flattened portion that is used to block attacks or strike an enemy. (It was once proven to be effective over a rifle fixed with a bayonet).
