REVIEW 52 : REMINISCE

I'm extremely sorry for the delay, I was going through some stuff and had to clear my mind before writing any review.
Anyway, onto the review! I read the five published chapters and the prologue. And my review will solely be based on what I read so far.
Cover: To be honest, I'm a big believer of the saying,"Don't judge a book by it's cover." but here on Wattpad, you HAVE to make it attractive, or else you'll not get many reads. So, that's my fear here, as I genuinely enjoyed the book, but the cover didn't contribute anything to the book, and instead downgraded it.
It would be better if you use less darker shades, and instead use some ginger or reddish hues, due to Cassandra's hair. Or some picture of a redhead model, who according to you slightly resembles Cassandra. Anything that resembles something about your actual book plot, with the use of more neutral shades. I'm not suggesting extremes like beige or off white. As the book themes are dark, the cover should borderline display the aim, but in a more toned way.
Because, it's in our human nature to judge anything at first glance. Here, the cover will do tons for you book if it actually speaks for it.
Name: I actually love the name, it's unique and directly speaks about the book, once you get to read it. And I've no issues with it.
Plot settings: The book starts off from Cassandra's point of view when she was in high school, and her cutesy relationship with Eden could be felt directly. Moving on to the actual chapters, it barrels into the future in Eden's point of view, where the story could be felt akin to the skin. How his sadness seeps through his words, and as the chapters progress, the point of view alternatively changes between Cassandra and Eden.
Where Cassandra is trying to erase her past and conceal her present, Eden is hellbent on finding what went wrong. The tension between them is perceivable and heavy. And the wordplay really brings out their emotions.
Themes: So far in, the themes I've came across are; mystery, love, two worlds Cassandra has to barrel between. And Eden's dilemma in all of this. It is poignant, and also has that feeling where the reader can feel the heartbreak of the characters. And its a good book to me when readers can relate themselves to the characters.
Characters: Cassandra is the main protagonist with Eden as secondary.
I love how diverse they are, yet the kindled love between them.
You could tell that Cassandra had some heavy past which flipped her world upside down, and why Eden's mother is doubtful of all the ongoing struggles Eden has to face to find Cassandra.
Eden however, is not the typical Wattpad 'bad boy' cliché, and that's a big thumbs up from me. He's sweet yet realistic. And his pain could be really felt through the writing.
Writing: Now the best part! I can say that I didn't find any fault in the writing, and it feels so good to read a book with perfect punctuation, no misspellings or neither shitload of adjectives to make the crappy plot a little more exciting, like sprinkling extra chocolate chips on a terrible ice cream.
No, the writing here was so on point, my grammar nazi ass couldn't find any mistakes. And it really has potential if the plot remains as intriguing and beautifully written as the first five chapters.
Personal thoughts: I absolutely loved it, and the fact that I didn't skim a single paragraph while reading, as I tend to skim a lot! It is a plus point, as it truly engaged me into keep reading thoroughly.
Allover: The first five chapters were immaculately written and I hope the same for the rest of the book.
I would give it a 4.5 out of 5.
