REVIEW 47: THE PATH TO YOU

Author: @fallynsinclair

Reviewer: plainreyne

Firstly I would like to mention how engaging this book is, I was thoroughly invested throughout the first eleven chapters I read. Now moving on to the review.

Cover: It could be amped up a bit by using different fonts and other colour format. Using non copyrighted pictures from Pexels app and unsplash.com works well.

Name: Goes well for the book and is quite unique, though I'm not that far into the book to know it's actual significance for now.

Plot settings: The books starts with first person point of view from the protagonist Amber Blake and as the chapters progress, the book alternates between two different timelines; one in random point of views, but in a third person writing style(past occurring) and other in the present time through Amber.

Themes: There are no significantly contrasting themes in the beginning itself except for, friendship and obscured love with a tinge of mystery. But as the book progresses, the tension between the characters increases a tenfold and around Chapter 6, a total unexpected climax takes place which stresses on the mysterious aura of the book.

Characters: I've to admit, the characters are the best part of the book. All of them are exceptionally well written and have their own voice. Amber and her snarky personality as a protagonist, really got me hooked into reading.
I love how diverse they are and the mishmash of sour realistic plot and delicious work of fiction, is just a pleasure to read.

Writing: There weren't much grammatical errors as far as I read, except for occasional typos. And the writing itself is pretty clean and well thought out, but the only thing that genuinely pegged me while reading, was the unbalanced ratio of dialogues and description.
There was far more description than actual dialogues to counter balance it.
I know filler chapters are necessary, but some of the descriptions were a bit excessive, and time consuming. Which will mostly bore the readers. So work on skimming the paragraphs and you're fine.

Personal thoughts: It's really a book worth investing your time in. Mystery and Romance being my favorite genres, worked well for me. But those who are not a big fan of mushy romance, can also read this and enjoy the angst and mystery.

Allover: I think it has great potential and I would give it a 4 out of 5.
