The Clockwork Princess
Yeah this is a great series and I recommend it.
Spoilers!!!!!!
So, this book is brilliantly crafted and such and the plot of Mortmain is very interesting but OH MY GODS THE SHIPS
THE
SHIPS
ARE
AMAZING
there is not a canon single ship I disliked. Which is rare for me. The only other book series that I really didn't hate any of the endgame ships was Percy Jackson and the Olympians bc Percabeth and Charlena and Juniper and UGH THOSE ARE SO GOOD notice how I didn't say Heroes of Olympus bc I have some strong opinions on a ship or two that I didn't like or even hated but this is me about that.
So, both of my big ships were endgame. Well, technically Wessa was endgame first. Then Jessa was end endgame. And then Gabriel and Cecily hooked up too which I was excited about. And Henry and Charlotte are adorable. And Sophie and Gideon were pretty hilarious I loved that proposal scene.
Also, so, Emma Carstairs. But that's a different series. But not really. But it kinda is.
So, Jace is descended from Will and Tessa and, lemme guess, is Emma Carstairs related to Jem? It's not really a guess it's blatantly obvious but... I wonder if she's directly related to him. I wonder if that means she's related to Tessa somehow. I wonder if that, by extension, means that she's related to Jace bc Jace is related to Tessa.
Huh
This series is starting to get as confusing as the Doctor Who season 6 timeline.
Well, time is not exactly a straight line but more a big jumble of wibbly wobbly... timey wimey... Stuff...
Hehe
Ok too many fandoms...
Anyway, so I cried in this book when Will thought Jem was dead and when Tessa found out and she was crying and then... then... *swallows* stuff happened...
I really kinda disliked Will in the first book and my prejudices against him travelled into the second book but all of that was obliterated in this book. He's a pretty nice guy when he's not purposefully being a donkey.
So, that scene with Cecily and Gabriel in the demon's shop... What was the picture of that the demon (It was a satyr actually I think. That's not what it was called I don't think but it's a freaking satyr. Grover, I found your uncle Ferdinand or whatever his name was. He's a little demon dude that apparently sells demon adult magazines to Shadowhunters.) I was really freaked out. I was laughing at Gabriel's protective reaction to it and Cecily just being like 'ok then'.
There were so many great scenes and we would be here all day if I talked about them all but...
Point is, this book series is great and I wish there were more but there isn't so I'm just going to have to mope in silence while I kneel to Cassie and read fanfiction or something. I'm just really curious as to what happens with Jem and Tessa in the modern world.
Anyway, that's it!
Rating:
🗡🗡🗡🗡🗡 5/5 swords.
Final words:
Father's a worm. A great big bloody serpent-like thing.
