Never Kiss Your Roommate

Title: Never Kiss Your Roommate
Author: writing00introvert

Synopsis:

''Ever kissed a girl?"

''No.''

''Ever wanted to?''

''Every time I look at you.''

Unwritten Rule No. 1 at any boarding school is to never kiss your roommate.

Especially if it's another girl. Especially if that girl is Noelle Daniels. Evelyn knows that. What she doesn't know is that it's the first rule she's going to break. And thanks to Noelle it's not going to be the last one either.

My opinions:

- I'm a perfectly straight person so I don't really read girlxgirl or boyxboy or girlxgirl boyxboy stories but hell, this book is beautiful. Literally B. E. A. U. T. I. F. U. L. I support LGBT since I know people who are part of the LGBT community and can I just say, they are some of the best people to be with. Like some of the gay people I know are literal balls of sunshine (well not all the time but ya know). And the cast are all so hot so that's another plus point!

- All the characters are so relatable (amirite ladies/gentlemen?) which makes it easy for readers to get captivated by the story and continue. The character development is good because it's progressive so readers can easily see how one character changes over time. A perfect example is Noelle who everyone once thought was some sort of b*tch in the beginning but eventually morphed into a tsundere (acts coldly and aloof at first but warms up later). It's also interesting how some of the characters are from different countries (like Jasper) unlike the usual ones that I read where all the characters are from different parts of USA but just born in different states.

- The usage of foreign words (eg. French) along with English makes the story feel more complete and keeps readers interested. I didn't spot any grammar or typographical mistakes (or even if there is, it doesn't affect the story because if it did, I would have mentioned it) and for someone who's not a native speaker, it's really good.

- I can tell that the author ensure that she knows what she's writing because when I saw how she wrote about self-defense, I can see that she did her research well so kudos to you Philline! :) Researching about certain topics really helps to make the storyline flow better because the readers will get a feeling that you know what you're writing and not simply writing bullsh*t. I've seen books who wrote about certain topics without doing their research about and it really shows how ignorant or uninformed they were. (No offence to anyone)

- Honestly, I like how plain the characters' lives seem to be. I'm not saying it's boring because it definitely isn't boring! There's no ultra dramatic plot twists like baby dragons appearing in the girls' dorm wing or a sudden World War 8 occurring after Evelyn ate a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. It's good how their issues only revolve around themselves. There's no alpha b*tch coming in to ruin relationships and going all, "Stay away from her brat, he's MINE."

Recommendations:

Highly recommended for everyone ABOVE 12 years old! Really guys, this book is AMAZING. This is honestly the first time I've read a girlxgirl boyxboy book because I usually don't (I have nothing against them. I just haven't really explored this genre yet) and I love it. It helps me to understand the struggles that an LGBT person would go through in the process of revealing their true selves. And the characters are all so relatable and dorky. Why above 12 years old? Because some things are worth keeping away from young ones first. Let the young ones keep their innocence. Though who actually listens to the rules right? *wink*

I have a little saying for this one (I think my mom actually said it before): They said they were as straight as a ruler. But rulers can bend
