12. The Hobbit.
You might be living under a rock if you've never heard of J.R.R Tolkien before. He's literally the godfather of fantasy.
I'm a die hard fan of Tolkien 💛 & I collect his works as much as I can :)
I really dislike book covers with the movie characters on it, it should be illegal right?
So it took me forever to get my hands on the hobbit because I was searching for this particular cover—the one with Smaug on it 🐉 & I'm so happy that I found it in a thrift store. I own two copies of the hobbit because I found both the books in thrift stores & I just couldn't pass the opportunity.
The story revolves around a hobbit name Bilbo, who loves to live a quiet, ordinary life with his books & tobaccos but his life takes a U turn when a wizard name Gandalf appears at his doorsteps & from there on, he joins a group of brave dwarves to set out in an adventure of a lifetime as the dwarves head towards the lonely mountain, to reclaim their homeland from a dragon named Smaug.
This book is filled with endless adventures, to satisfy anyone who loves the fantasy world. I just can't put into words how amazing Tolkien works are, he's a perfectionist & I've immense love & respect for him. It breaks my heart that he's not here to see how his works have impacted so many lives & how it has changed the world of storytelling.
The best part about this book is—it has three movies based on it:
The Hobbit: an unexpected journey.
The Hobbit: the desolation of Smaug.
The Hobbit: the battle of five armies.
I've lost count on how many times I've watched the movies & I'm ever ready to watch them again 😁
I don't need to say it but I'd rate this book five stars ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ it's absolutely worth the read, no questions asked. And I'd rate the movies 5 out of 5 as well ;)

The last goodbye by Billy Boyd from the motion picture—the hobbit is what this book is all about & this song will always remind me of the hobbit.
🎶 🎶🎶
I saw the light fade from the sky
On the wind I heard a sigh
As the snowflakes cover my fallen brothers
I will say this last goodbye
Night is now falling
So ends this day
The road is now calling and I must away
Over hill and under tree
Through lands where never light has shone
By silver streams that run down to the Sea
Under cloud, beneath the stars
Over snow and winter's morn
I turn at last to paths that lead home
And though where the road then takes me
I cannot tell
We came all this way
But now comes the day
To bid you farewell
Many places I have been
Many sorrows I have seen
But I don't regret
Nor will I forget
All who took that road with me
Night is now falling
So ends this day
The road is now calling
And I must away
Over hill and under tree
Through lands where never light has shone
By silver streams that run down to the Sea
To these memories I will hold
With your blessing I will go
To turn at last to paths that lead home
And though where the road then takes me
I cannot tell
We came all this way
But now comes the day
To bid you farewell
I bid you all a very fond farewell
