We Were Never Here

"We were never here", written by Jennifer Gilmore.

Review:

"We were never there, we were not here either. Pretty much, we were nowhere."

This book greatly portrays the struggle that sixteen-year-old Lizzie Stoller must face when she is diagnosed with ulcerative colitis, an illness she's never really heard of. She "meets her perfect prince charming" is an understatement. "We Were Never Here" by Jennifer Gilmore shows how in a way everyone is imperfect and how love will always be able to prevail against all the dark odds. That love will bring the imperfect together and make a more imperfectly perfect relationship.

To be honest, when I first picked up this book and read the little script, I thought it would relate more to "The Fault in Our Stars" written by John Green which had a very touching effect on me. In a way, I was wrong and right at the same time. This book has two imperfect lovers, true but they have completely different stories which personally I find very admirable. The book is very unique and yet still gave me that very touching effect. One of the top ranking books on my list. I recommend it to anyone who loves a cheeky love story or loves to read a bit of "good vibes" in a story. This story also has a lot of song lyrics and great artist which is also very original.

It was very praiseworthy that Jennifer Gilmore was able to show how the world may still be moving constantly even if we are not moving with it.

Ranking;

8/10 stars
