As you may have guessed, the Zwiau of Mirror Island have many cultures and rituals.

Here are a few main cultures and rituals

Shine Fest
When the stars burn so bright and so long, they're reflected in every stone on Mirror Island. The Zwiau open their portals to all dimensions for a night. And other species like the SoundStep and the Encs comes through to party, celebrating the magic still prevalent on Mirror Island

The Zwiau also use this party to evaluate their home. If the stones shimmer in the starlight, the island is healthy and that means other species besides Zwiau can pass through them for the night. If they don't, the island is dying, and by extension, the Zwiau will die within the year

Hide-and-Port
A game that young Zwi like to play is Hide-and-port. A game similar to hide-and-seek where the Zwi try to pick out if any of their friends are hiding in a reflective surface. They can tell by the faint outline of the Zwi present in the reflection

Adulthood
Once a Zwiau reaches the adult stage, they leave Mirror Island for at least a year, to hone their porting abilities and to test if they are ready to be adults. If they don't return in eighteen months, they are presumed dead and unfit for the tribe. It's a measure of "natural selection" if you will

Outcasts
If a Zwiau fails to be able to shine-port, they are shine-ported away by other Zwiaus. They are seen as unfit and a failure to the tribe. Zwiaus are not allowed to talk to outcast Zwiaus. Outcasts are marked and usually have dull coats.

Eldership
Once a Zwiau reaches the age of an Elder, they are brought to the current Elder of the tribe. There may be several Zwiaus who reach the age. Then, they go through a trial of shine-porting. Elders of the tribe are the best shine-porters, so whoever shine-ports the best out of the group become the new Elder (whether they want to or not).

Grooming
Zwiaus love to groom their fur, and they groom other Zwiau's as well. It represents a sign of friendship and care, since Zwiaus love their shiny coat.

Fights
Usually Zwiaus are a neutral tribe, but they can be easily provoked and insulted. If there is a fight within the tribe, the Elder is summoned to break out the fight and bring them to his/her temple for meditation. If there is a fight between two different territories, the Elders of the domain meet with each other a discuss the problem. They usually leave it be, but if a war breaks out the Zwiaus will fight each other and it can get nasty quick.
