Yuki-onna is translated to Snow woman. She is know as spirit/yokai who is tall and beautiful. She has long black hair with blue lips. Her skin so pale that she blends into the snow. In some legends, she's either nude or wearing a white kimono. As a ghost she floats, not leaving her footprints behind.

There are many stories to Yuki-onna. One in which she is very agressive and is associated with the snowstorms. Another when she looks for lost travlers to use her breathe to leave them as frozen corpse. She invades homes and kill everyone in their sleep. Other stories she'll take childrens, and well-intentioned soul takes the "child" from her, they are frozen in place. There's a different version where she vampric, draining her victim's blood or life force. She'll also kiss them to freeze them.

In a different story, she has a softer side. She'll let her victim go, depending. Once she let's a young man go for his good looks if he promise to not ever speak of her to others. Years later, he tells his beautiful wife the story, breaking the promise. There are different endings to the broken promise. Yuki-onna, being the beautiful wife let it slide for their children, she kills her husband for breaking the promise, or she can no longer be there and melts away.
